1 out of 5 eggsGarbage

Pros: Small
Decent number of outlets

Cons: Flat out broken after 6 months. I did an RMA and they take the FULL 30 days they are allowed so that you lose another month of your warranty. That's right, you don't get another warranty on the your warranty period is shrunk down.

2 out of 5 eggsDied after 4 months

Pros: It's very small. It installed Windows 7 64 bit and XBMC played everything just as I would have expected

Cons: It went completely dead on me after 4 moths. Just flat out died. I can't get it to Post or try and start whatsoever.

The little feet that hold the box together became stripped after like 2 times of unscrewing them.

Other Thoughts: I am going to try and RMA this with Zotac, but I just wonder how long I am going to get out of the next box.....:( I probably wouldn't choose to buy a Zotac again. Live and learn I guess.

Cons: This is the second Zotac I recieved DOA. I recommend looking at Foxconn boxes.

4 out of 5 eggsSP600 incompatible with ID61

Pros: Small, decent CPU for everything except gaming. Can easily play 1080P MKV files

Cons: Slightly loud when fan is running at full speed. The free Adata SP600 Pro SSD was incompatible with the ID61. Updated the firmware/bios on the SSD and the ID61.

Other Thoughts: Great little box. Perfect for daily computer use.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat to a point

Pros: Great price, Nice selection of ports & connections, Quick to put into service.

Cons: Fan runs loud in standard mode and in auto the system runs hot.

Other Thoughts: Bought 4 of these to do Powerpoint video directories in our building lobbies.
Now 4 months out 2 have had to be wiped and reloaded due to data corruption, cannot say for sure if it was heat or hard drives but a 3rd on Crashed and burnt hard.
CPU temp going from room temp to 123c + in a matter of a few minutes no matter the fan speed or room temp.

Chilled one to 1c and within 3min it was shutting down with heat in excess of 120c.

In process of RMA with manufacturer now. Will post how it goes

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for Robots

Pros: size
performance of the 867 is far superior to the e-350.

Cons: could be even smaller :-)

Other Thoughts: We have used two of these boxes on small autonomous platforms. These are the best solution when your form factor is super critical and you don't want run an arm board.
This replaced the AMD e350 nano and our vision software runs ~2.5x faster.

Power is good, runs flawlessly from a standard 4S lipo pack. 4000mAh gives about 90 minutes of run time on a computer vision platform. I hope they keep making them as they are much more affordable then traditional industrial boards.

Pros: The product itself is well made. Compact and fits about anywhere. We are a medium sized business and have installed a couple small deployments of these for our customers, they would work well if you only bought one for your home and you like to tinker with things all the time.

Cons: Having more than one of these nano boxes is impossible to manage, the company does not burn the serial number onto the BIOS, so you have no way of doing an inventory or distinguishing one from the other on a network. They are not a very good OEM provider, and have a lacking support department. The bluetooth chipset is also temperamental and likely won't work all the time, but this is not necessary in our deployments. The IR remote receiver picks up a signal from about any other remote you have since it's such a generic product, leave it unplugged unless you really need it or are in an office sitting, rather than a home theatre setting.

Other Thoughts: The company bounced me around in support for over a month on ticket KQA-631-31622, kept giving me someone else to talk to and still did not provide me with a tool to serialize the unit's I'd already purchased, and it was impossible for them to even create a sales order for me to order new units that had a serial number. Don't even think about being a reseller for this equipment, they don't appear to want to do high volume sales, just 1 or 2 here and there. I am giving them one more opportunity to make this right before RMA'ing every one we ever purchased from NewEgg due to this manufacturing flaw.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello evtcomp,

Who did you speak with regarding your inquiry? If you'd like, I can see if I might be able to provide help if you email me at Make sure to include your full name and brief description of your issue.

Thank you,

3 out of 5 eggsGet What You Pay

Pros: Cheap Price, Small Form Factor, WiFi

Cons: Cheaply Made, HDMI/DP Confusion

Other Thoughts: I'll go with a slightly pricier model next time. This one nearly bugged me the same way in which it bugged previous reviewers. The display port to DVI cable was all I had, thus it didn't work...waiting a week for a HDMI-DVI adapter now...poor decision by manufactuer to set them up that way.

1 out of 5 eggsProblems with video

Pros: Small size, fairly quick, fan is fairly quiet once BIOS upgrade completed

Cons: Macroblocking on Windows Media Center. Issues with pixelation in XBMC. I am running Windows 7 x64. I can get the pixelation in XBMC to clear up if I turn off DXVA but then the CPU spikes and certain videos CANNOT play smoothly! Turning off DXVA is not the answer.

Other Thoughts: VERY disappointed! I had high hopes for this box. I am going to see if I can swap this box for another box from Newegg (as I am a good customer of their's and used to purchase a lot from them at my former job). I may have to go non-Zotac moving forward and suggest the same to my tech friends.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat but with some minor annoyances

Pros: It's a capable machine, as long as you know what you're going to use before your purchase. I like the small sized package, the E-SATA, USB3 and built in wifi. It's a great value at such a low price.

Cons: I bought two and the first one's CPU fan died after a week of use and was overheating. Replaced with another from newegg. All the clip tabs will snap off now matter what you try to do. I've tried not to break them on the 2nd and 3rd one and they broke.

The hard disk bracket screw is hard to screw into my SSD drive, an extra millimeter of slack would help. Only could get half of the second screw in.

If you are not running windows, updating the BIOS is a pain, unless you have a usb floppy drive or a dos boot CD with built in USB drivers and load the bios from CD. I had to use Hiren Boot CD, then go into mini windows xp to install via dos shell. Make sure you read the provided pdf file in the Bios update download because you have to use the correct install options. I had to flash twice because I didn't use the options and my unit would only boot up if I pressed the Bios reset button before turning the power on. It would be nice if BIOS could be updated inside the BIOS like all the new motherboards.

Other Thoughts: Make sure your monitor either has an HDMI port or a Display port. If not, order an HDMI to DVI cable with this order so you don't have to wait another few days for it to come.

The quality control or quality of hardware used seems a little questionable based of the other reviews I've read. Not to mention, one of the units I got had a dead CPU fan after a week. But at $200, and for all the new features (USB 3, e-SATA, intel wifi, and CPU included, I just think it's worth the risk to buy it.
