4 out of 5 eggszbox

Pros: great htpc for the price. Quiet unit just runs and runs. I have had no overheating issues at all. My family watches youtube and movies off of my NAS on WiFi thru media player with no problems. Installed since july 2012.

Cons: Don't really have any. I read every review i could find and armed with that knowledge I had zero issues setting it up.

Other Thoughts: One thing to be aware of...If you sit this unit on its side, you may overheat. The unit is setup to cool like a chimney and air won't flow very well when its on its side.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect HTPC

Pros: Bought this wonderful box a few weeks ago and I cannot begin to praise this computer. Its small, quiet, and sleek. It integrates really well as a HTPC and can handle everything you throw at it. The WEI for the graphics card is a 5.1 and the lowest rating is the CPU at around 3.3. The integrated WiFi and Bluetooth work very well.

I hooked up an external Blu-Ray drive to this box and it plays them without issue. The same thing goes for movies from a network drive, flawless playback and I am also able to record TV while streaming movies and no slowdown.

Cons: The only "con" is the 2GB of RAM which can run a little low at times.

Other Thoughts: Might be a good idea to add a 4GB stick or an 8GB kit of RAM when you purchase this little guy. Don't forget you need an external drive or a USB stick to install everything.

The CD drivers worked great but I have read some complaints that those on the Zotac website are causing issues so just use the ones you get with it.

5 out of 5 eggsDecent HTPC

Pros: Small, low power device which is more than enough to do daily tasks. Very quiet, doesn't get hot like the other Zotac units. No issues playing HD movie content from my network server via wireless connection, very smooth. We're talking about 10 GB MKV file at 1080p without a glitch! BIOS was already updated which was great. I like the fact you can set the UMA frame buffer to 2GB MAX, I set mine to 1GB for better performance. Mind you I have 8GB of ram installed, which is overkill for my use but its worth it.

Cons: Good luck installing Windows 7 x64 WIFI/BT drivers from the website, they were incorrect for the hardware that was installed in my unit. I had to use the CD drivers that came with the retail box in order to get my WIFI/BT to work.

Other Thoughts: Great little product, but only had problems with the Windows 7 x64 WIFI/BT drivers. Like most users we download the updated drivers from the website. However, Zotac needs to be aware that they need to upload the correct drivers on their website. Looks like this model of the unit has 2-3 different WIFI/BT modules installed in their production line; AzureWave, Atheros and Ralink. Zotac's website does not have the Ralink drivers posted, so use your driver CD that came with the retail box. Save you the hassle and pain that I went through...

4 out of 5 eggsDecent Low Power Server

Pros: Low power
Decent port selection (2x 3.0 USB, 3 x 2.0 USB)
WIFI and 1GB out of the box.
Decent CPU performance.
Built in GPU for Media serving / encoding/decoding
Real HW Virtualization support (better then Atom/ Celeron in this respect).

Cons: Need more cores (2 is not enough.. would like 4 at low power.. to make a multi purpose server.
A 2nd 1 Gbe port would be ideal.

Other Thoughts: Device can actually run 16GB of memory and with a decent 240GB SSD, actually performs well.

USB 3.0 allows external storage solution.. Mediasonic and other Raid solution that powers up on active USB very useful.

As a small multi OS box (running Linux/Windows, etc) w/o rebooting .. works well (keep vmdk on SSD and data drive on .

3 out of 5 eggsToo new for Linux

Pros: Like all of Zotac's small machines this one is functional, small, and slick. I like that the case can be opened easily with the thumb screws. Seems to run much cooler than other models.

Cons: Video hardware is too new/bleeding edge. Linux support for it has not reached most Linux distributions. Installing latest drivers from AMD may be more than most users can do.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat machine

Pros: Small footprint
All the connections I could ask for in an HTPC
Low power consumption
Plenty of computing power for everything thrown at it so far

Cons: Haven't found any yet

Other Thoughts: I hesitated for a long time before getting this. I've always been afraid of ATI graphics cards, since their Linux support historically has been (word Newegg won't let me use). However, the fglrx driver included in the OpenELEC build I installed works beautifully. The wifi drivers are all included, and everything just worked the way it was supposed to. Even the remote, while not 100% responsive, works out of the box with no extra tweaking. If you are looking for a small PC to do media center stuff on a Linux platform, this will do wonderfully.
