Embrace mini-PC gaming with the 4th Gen Intel Core R-series processor and Intel Iris Pro 5200 graphics packing ZBOX EI700 series. The new Intel Iris Pro 5200 graphics processor enables the ZBOX EI700 series to deliver outstanding visuals and performance that's on par with discrete graphics cards and connect three native or up to four 1080p displays via adapters, or a single 4K display via DisplayPort or quad HDMI, with adapters, using Intel Collage Display Technology.

There's plenty of internal expansion capability in the ZBOX EI700 series with room to accommodate a 2.5-inch SATA 6.0Gbps SSD or HDD and mSATA 6.0Gbps SSD. Intel Smart Response Technology enables the ZBOX EI700 series to combine the superior speed of an mSATA SSD with the higher storage capacity of standard 2.5-inch hard drives to create a single high-speed storage device that intelligently optimizes performance without user intervention for SSD-like performance with hard disk storage capacity.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Quiet and works as intended. Besides initial hiccups with HDs no other issue.Works really nice with my portable monitor so I can take it as a backup for my laptop when traveling.

Mem G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 16GB (2 x 8G) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3L 1600 (PC3L 12800) Laptop Memory Model F3-1600C9D-16GRSL
Samsung 850 Pro 512GB

Cons: Does not work with many HDs. I've tested with Muskin 120GB mSATA and Crucial MX100 and it did not work with neither. It seems to work with Samsung SSDs.

Other Thoughts: Even though box could be placed horizontally, follow manufacture's instructions and place it vertically since it dissipates heat that way much better. I even tried with the cooling pad underneath, but it did not cool it as well as wen it is position vertically

5 out of 5 eggsAWESOME

Pros: -tiny
-desktop i7
-quiet when fan set to 30%
-not cheap but not expensive either
-beautiful industrial design - gloss black/flat black
-easiest PC to work on ever
-about all the ports you would need, 4 USB3 (or more if you get a USB hub)

Cons: -an odd glitch: would not boot without a USB DVD drive. It does not give the BIOS beep, force it off then it will boot. BIOS is updated. So I leave the DVD connected.

Other Thoughts: 16 GB RAM 2x8G|HYPERX HX316LS9IBK2/16 R
256 GB mSATA M6M PX-256M6M
1TB WD backup disk WD10JPVX

The I/O subsystem is faster than any PC I have seen. Talking about compressing large files, backing up, etc. Runs cool with 4 VMs up and not much activity. Something I found out: running YouTube in a VM on an i3 has performance issues, but not on this thing. I think there will be many more of these moments.

If you don't need a game PC this is perfect. Just replaced my Alienware X51 with it and the Zotac is much faster. The X51 did not have Turbo Boost or SATA 3.

I see there is an nVIDIA version too, that may work better for games. Actually this does play older titles well.

Disabled hyper threading as someone suggested - running only VMs.

5 out of 5 eggsAddendum

Pros: N/A

Cons: N/A

Other Thoughts: I replaced the Intel AC 3160 with an Intel AC 7260 W/BT WIFI adapter and effectively doubled my internet download speeds...went from above 50 Mbps to over 100 Mbps over my WIFI connection.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat piece of gear!

Pros: Very fast Windows 8.1 machine in a very compact an maneuverable size. WEI of 8.2 for CPU/MEM/SSD and 6.8 for Iris Graphics. [WIFI]: Located in kitchen far away from house WIFI router, yet still getting 5 bars on the WIFI connection and great WIFI speeds. Able to stream full HD with no skips at all...albeit my Kitchen TV is limited to 720P. Speedtest consistently goes above 50 Mbps. [CPU]: Running the i7-4770 with Windows 8.1, I'm not waiting for anything. No delays and my applications appear almost instantaneously from when I clicked them. [Graphics]: I haven't run any games yet but the video seems to be very stable with no issues encountered. If I do put a game on it will likely be FSX and I'm pushing the "I Believe" button that it will be able to handle FSX quite nicely. [Temps]: Once set up, the unit's temperature above ambient was barely noticeable using the hand above the unit approach. Coretemp showed CPU temps approximately 45-45 C when Power settings were set to Low.

Cons: This unit cannot be configured without a DP enabled monitor. The DVI (HDMI Connection) doesn't work right out of the box not does it work without Windows running and with the Windows drivers loaded. I ended up having to configure the unit in BIOS (e.g., for loading Windows via a USB stick) by connecting the unit's display port to a monitor that had a DP connection. Fortunately for me I recently got a monitor that has a DP connection. After the drivers were loaded, this connection worked fine under Windows 8.1, however, I was unable to use this connection to boot directly into BIOS. It took me a while (and a couple of cold ones) to figure this out...nothing in the manual.

Other Thoughts: Configured the unit with 16GB RAM (HyperX Impact Black Series 16GB (2 x 8G)), a hand-me-down Samsung 840 EVO 1TB SSD, Windows 8.1, and Cyberlink's PowerDVD. This unit has succeeded (and then some) in replacing my trusty old WD Media Player box although removing all the old wires was a dusty affair. The DP issue was not enough to knock an egg off but did prevent me from calling this a "Superb" piece of gear. I set up my Zotac for two power settings (Hi and Low) that can be applied by clicking an icon on my desktop. So far I haven't had to click the Hi button and leave it in Low.

5 out of 5 eggsBest Media Center Yet

Pros: Powerful, fast, great graphics and cheap for what you get.

Cons: Non yet

Other Thoughts: I have spent thousands of dollars with Newegg building media centers for my home but this box is as good as the best I have built for a fraction of the cost. I have it hooked up to a Sharp 4K 70" THX TV. Looks awesome. Has the ability to play in 4K but have not tried it yet.

5 out of 5 eggsBest HTPC

Pros: FAST
Good air flow.
Low power consumption and fast wake from sleep.
Iris Pro 5200 good enough to run Dark Souls.
Integrated blue tooth and wireless combo card.
2.5" Sata AND mSata

Cons: HDMI dongle instead of port.
No Optical drive.
Intel graphics drivers are still kind of wonky.

Other Thoughts: I haven't tried the onboard IR receiver yet.
I'm using an 80 GB msata hd as the OS drive and a 250 GB SSD as the game drive. I have a NAS for media.

4 out of 5 eggsPowerful little box

Pros: Core i7 4770R, best intel graphics (GT3+) 4 cores that mostly run above 3.2Ghz. x2 DisplayPort connectors

Cons: Fan is noisy until you update the bios, where the have picked better thermal speed settings. Cooling overall could have been better designed.

-1 egg for No eSATA, which limits your storage.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great specs. Drives 3 monitors.

Cons: Samsung SSD SATA hard drive did not work without first updating the BIOS. Mushkin 240gb mSATA card doesn't work. Sent in to Zotac to check that it was not the computer and they say the computer works fine. Zotac says it works with a Samsung mSATA so know that before buying.
