Garmin's StreetPilot c330 navigation system will get you where you're going without breaking the bank. It comes with maps for North America pre-loaded so all you have to do is plug in and go. The pre-load also includes points of interest including gas, food and lodging. You can also program in your own favorites or regularly visited places.
The WAAS enabled 12 channel GPS receiver will continuously track up to 12 satellites for maximum positional accuracy. The once per second update rate keeps your position accurate to less than three meters and your speed accurate to <0.05 meters per second, so you always know where you are. With an acquisition time of approximately 45 seconds when just turned on, the c330 will be ready to go when you are.
The information is displayed on the 320x240 backlit touch-screen. The 16-bit color LCD has vibrant colors for a sharp image. The suction cup mount has an integrated power adapter to keep the c330 going on long trips.

Very Good GPS but, DO NOT BUY!
- Pros: Very Good Baisc GPS. Does the work very well.
- Cons: Garmin has stopped producing this unit. So you will not receive a free update of the map to install on this product. The latest update will cost you $70. The map version that come pre-installed on it is MapSource City Navigator North America NT v6, Apr'06. That means you are missing new streets, intersections, exits etc. which got constructed after that date. Again there are issues updating it to a later version even if you decide to buy the map update. Please Google regarding this.
- Other Thoughts: The suction mount seems to be failing after prolonged use (mine after an year). So requires frequent cleaning with spirit.
Easy to use, does what it's supposed to
- Pros: What surprised me was the ease of use of this unit. Without reading anything, I was able to set a destination and use it out of the box, easily. My experience is with handheld units for hiking, which have a somewhat steep learning curve (though they do a lot more). Easy-to-see screen in all light, pleasant voice prompts give you enough warning of turns etc. Charges itself from the car adapter or USB, and lets you know when it's charged by an onscreen message. Garmin's website was nicely set up to get driver updates etc. easily, and they have Vista drivers that work.
- Cons: I think it's a bit cheap of Garmin to not at least give new buyers the latest available map, and after that, you're on your own. The included map really is not very old anyway...I've checked some fairly recent changes in roads and they're all on there. And, at the low price, even if you added the $69 for the very latest map, it's not a bad total price. The included map is fine for me, they all get old eventually, and I don't know any manufacturers who aren't stingy with their maps.
- Other Thoughts: There are two $20 rebates offered, one from Garmin, one from Newegg; but both of them demand the ORIGINAL bar code from the box. How is that supposed to be accomplished?
I'm looking forward to REALLY trying this out, where I don't know my way around, and need to find a bank, grocery store, taco joint, address or ?. It seems to have a pretty extensive list of points of interest that are reasonably current.

Good GPS
- Pros: It gets the job done. I ordered on 3/22 and it came with North America NT v8 2008 Map. So I was well pleased with it. Easy to operate. Great buy for the price.
- Cons: None
Works but needs update
- Pros: Easy to use navigation. Bright screen and clear visual as well as spoken directions. All contents arrived in box.
- Cons: You do need to update the maps and it will cost you.
- Other Thoughts: So far it is working and serves its purpose. You can’t be so picky if you are getting a 06 model and refurbished unit.
Good Buy.
- Pros: Price & Features..
Window mount works good so far. Loud and clear.. Very fast course corrections!!!
- Cons: Old Map.. =(
- Other Thoughts: To whomever said it doesn't give intersections as a destination is WRONG.. It does, I would recommend using the down arrow and discovering the many options you have. This a good unit that simply needs a updated map.
