5 out of 5 eggsWonderful

Pros: Powered it on, it autosinced my home address, and I was off and running! Don't hestitate and buy this refurbished unit! Makes USA navigation a breeze.

Cons: Car charger only but I have 3 wall chargers at home for my old Blackberry which work with this unit. Other than that...no cons at all!

Other Thoughts: If you want the basic nav unit....this is it!

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Very solid GPS at a great price! Literally took it out of the box, plugged it in and it turned on and told me my address and asked me where I want to go. Plus, you can change the icon of the car to "walking boots", thats at least an extra 1/5 on the rating.

Cons: If you wish to have a lot stored on the system in terms of map data you may have to purchase your own min-sd card so it can fit all the info as not all the updates will fit on the standard memory. No big deal though, doesn't take away from the awesome of this unit.

5 out of 5 eggsupdate to my review

Pros: Still love it. See Other Thoughts for instructions on upgrading to 2010 map. I downloaded the Dr. Nightmare voice from garmin dot com slash vehicles. It adds humor to your navigating. Also get new vehicles from here as well. I've been using it all over my state to get around. It's great having a GPS and the nuvi200 is a great inexpensive introduction to the world of GPS navigation and never getting lost again.

Cons: The on-screen keyboard for typing is "a,b,c,d..", instead of QWERTY. That is so frustrating but it works. More expensive models (or TomTom) has option to switch from alphabetical to qwerty. But it works and so far this is my only real con.

Other Thoughts: To get free 2010 map: 1. use GPS first. 2. register serial number at Garmin website. You will be required to attach GPS to computer via standard (not supplied) UPS cable. Follow directions on website to install IE active-X controls, etc. Website should say "you are eligable for 2010 map". Download map (it's 2GB, so use the provided download manager so you can resume if necessary). Here's the important part! When installing, it will say "the new map will not fit on your unit (the Nuvi200 is only 1GB of memory). So you have to choose which section of the map you want. Now pay attention. DO NOT INSTALL the map called "East" or "West". That map includes Canada, and the nuvi 200 is locked to AMERICA only. The people who get "cannot navigate to this location" or similar message tried to install the Canada maps. Instead, load "Lower 49 + PR (xx)" (where XX is NE, NW, SE, or SW as appropriate).

I think (but haven't tried it) you can install additional maps onto a SD card.

5 out of 5 eggsGift for a friend

Pros: They love it, works out of the box, didn't try to update in anyway.

Cons: A little small buttons, hard to hit correct one if you have big or clumsy fingers.

Entering an address is confusing at first, it wants the number only, then go back, then enter street name.

Gets addresses wrong, the second address I tried it didn't find, and wouldn't let me force the entry for South instead of North.

I entered a lower number on the street on the South side and worked from there, but it'd be nice if you weren't limited to choices it had in the database.

Other Thoughts: First gps I've ever messed with - I prefer Hudson's maps for work -- and didn't have it for long.

Charged on my computer's cigarette lighter - charger (thermaltake xray) in five or six hours.

Doesn't include AC adapter but it says that.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat time and gas saver

Pros: This gps navigator has saved me from driving around in circles looking for addresses. It is extremely easy to use and a great time saver (fuel also).

Cons: It doesn't drive the car for me? Just kidding I haven't found any cons yet.

Other Thoughts: I've heard many horror stories about people being driven around in circles with their navigation system, but, with this one I just type in the address and hit go and it gives turn by turn directions.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Nice!

Pros: Works as listed in the specs.
Very well constructed, easy to use and see.
Very accurate with fast updates.
Free update to the latest US map.
PRICE!
Full 12 month warranty.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Excellent for what it is: a basic GPS with not a lot of frills that most people won't use anyway.

NewEgg is the BEST!!!!!

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Basic GPS at low price

Pros: Low cost. Easy to setup and use. Battery fully charged at arrival. Solid construction and mounting kit.

Cons: Accuracy: When roads are running parallel and very near to each other (for example service drives for freeways), it assumes that you are driving on a freeway, even if you are actually on a service drive. Iam not sure if it is same with other GPS systems as well.

Other Thoughts: Would have loved if this came with lane assist and pronounced street names as well.

3 out of 5 eggsNo free map updates !!

Pros: Good product for begineers

Cons: Since the product is refurbished, Garmin will not provide you with free map updates. One of the reason, I bought the unit was because of the reviews I read that a free map update was available.

Other Thoughts: I don't think the product is covered by any warranties except Newegg’s 30 day replacement. Considering returning the product
