4 out of 5 eggsGreat, but could be better

Pros: -Easy to use
-Lasted me over a year, would've lasted even longer if it were not stolen from me, though I guess this speaks volumes about its quality!
-Bright screen
-Very affordable

Cons: -While the sound is okay when my windows are closed, with the windows open I can't understand it at all beyond 40 mph - you might be thinking, well duh, nothing should be that loud! The TomTom XL 330 I had (though I HATED that thing, don't get me wrong), had great sound quality, even when I was going 70 mph on the interstate!
-Processor is just a BIT slow - rarely was it really an annoyance, but I missed a few turns in the time I had it.

Other Thoughts: It's pretty run of the mill in terms of features, but at this price point, it's to be expected.

I bought a TomTom XL 330 to replace it after it was stolen but it doesn't even begin to compare to this unit. This gets a Highly Reccomended from me, with the Garmin 1350T being even better, though somewhat pricier.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Buy...Best Bang for the Buck

Pros: The 205w is probably one of the best GPS units Garmin makes. They make other high end units, but this is probably the best bang for the buck. I own 3 different Garmin models, and this is by far the most reliable of the 3. If all I had was $100 and I wanted to buy another unit, this would be the one.

Cons: No cons really. This is a good rock solid unit. Your kids could probably use it for a football, and you would still put it back in the car and get it to work!

Other Thoughts: They do have other units with different bells and whistles, but the extra $ you pay really isn't worth it. If your buying you first unit, this is the one to buy!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat first gps

Pros: Easy to use. This is our first gps and we couldn't be happier with it. We've went to Florida and Colorado from Indiana and we haven't looked at a map since we bought it. Got us everywhere we asked without any problems. Easy to mount, program destinations, and bring up restaurants, dealerships, theme parks, etc.

Cons: Only a couple of things we've noticed so far. When in a congested interchange, it can say "exit" a little late or too soon sometimes. The speed that it shows started off reading 2 mph faster than our speedometer in both our vehicles, but recently it reads about 3-4 mph slower than our vehicles odometer. Nothing major, but just wanted to point it out. (It was highly accurate on Pikes Peak at 20mph.) Then again, I was trying to watch the road more than the gps.

Other Thoughts: If there was 2 things I could add, they would be a clock that you could see while looking at the map display and a volume slide on the outside of the case rather than the menu base volume control. For us, just too many layers to get back to these 2 things. Again, we love it. Definitely glad we got the wide screen after seeing the regular screen.

Pros: Ease of use. Free map update. GUI is more touch sensitive than my previous Magellan. Driving map is clear to read. Shows speed limit on streets which I love.

Cons: none so far.

4 out of 5 eggsNice unit

Pros: A very nice ENTRY unit. Nice wide screen. Be sure and register and update any maps or software right away. Because the clock starts ticking as soon as you buy it. Wait too long and you'll have a hard time doing it latter.

Cons: Nice layout and brighness, day or night. However, as with most GPS they're not usually "spot on" accurate. On a recent trip south, the street number was given the unit. It kept wanting me to exit LONG before the one I knew I needed. When I got to my destination the REAL address was about 300 yards down the road and around a corner! So, DO YOUR RESEARCH ahead of time on Google or some other mapping service.
Not a big con but this should really do a little better job. Perhaps Garmin could have an email address to update THEM? Perhaps sending them the corrections could allow them to issue quarterly updates(for those that don't have life-time subs)?

Other Thoughts: A good entry level unit as I said above. But you get what you pay for. Spend more(alot more) and you'll get a much more reliable unit with less mistakes.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Device

Pros: PRICE! Extremely lightweight, Garmin includes a map update, typical micro USB (pretty standard nowadays), Voice is clear and adjustable.

Cons: Compared to the other more expensive units that I've used, this device seems to lack some detail when navigating. Zooming in for a turn leaves some desire and it takes a little bit to recalculate. Like it has to tell you that it will recalculate before it actually recalculates... Not bad tho

Other Thoughts: Great device. Cannot go wrong at all here, especially for an entry level that can do just about anything one could want.
