3 out of 5 eggsnot what im used to

Pros: voice is loud, and directions are pretty decent.

Cons: the touch keyboard is written A-Z and not qwerty which makes things tough on the small screen.

typing in an address should be a bit more intuitive, like my Android phone or even my 4 year old Magellan.

3 out of 5 eggsLack of Information

Pros: It got here quick thanks to Newegg.

Cons: Arrived without an owners manual. The "Quick Start" manual gives minimal information. After downloading an owners manual from Garmin (pdf file) I was still hard put to figure out something as simple as the initial battery charge process and the time required. Based on a reference on an internet forum for a different model Garmin I'm hoping that 4 to 8 hours charging with a USB cable will get it going. Really poor documentation IMHO.

1 out of 5 eggsROA (reboot on arrival)

Pros: Looks nice, small, supposedly has a bunch of great features.

Cons: Constantly reboots, never got to use the product because it never worked properly.

Other Thoughts: Product arrived quickly and I was excited to receive it. However when I went to plug it into the computer via its USB cable, all it would do was reboot continuously. It would not power on or appear to hold a charge. It arrived on a Friday and continued to do that all weekend.

I am returning product. After reading all the great reviews about this product, I'm sorely disappointed. I was really looking forward to using it in areas I can't get reception with my phone.

I guess I lucked out and got the lemon!

5 out of 5 eggsTom Tom upgrade

Pros: It is a Garmin, not a Dumb, Dumb. oh i am sorry I am supposed to type Tom, Tom. Take a look in my other thoughts.
The Garmin had no Sat acquisition issues with my Poor Man's James Bond tinkering.

Cons: Totally my fault, i did not purchase mine from New Egg. Yes I did save a couple of bucks. (really it was not even enough for a few sodas out of the No Tell Hotel vending machine)

Other Thoughts: The unit is a little small (just my opinion) However it does make it easy ti fit into even the most cluttered glove box or center console. I my case. I took out some of the metal from the large ash tray in my Jeep. When I park it just folds right up and out of sight.

Don't be a Dumb, Dumb get you tech at New Egg

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works well in most places.
Live traffic updates is a great feature that has come in very handy when traveling even if you are in your home town.

Cons: Occasionally gets confused between tall buildings in Pittsburgh but does ok in other locations. This probably has to do with the relative position of the satellites.
The map that came with it has some streets on it that do not exist or may have existed in the distant past. You have to use common sense when following the directions or you may drive off into someone's yard.

2 out of 5 eggsGarmin 265T

Pros: Product is good. I have been using Garmin for a while. Previous version used was 255WT.

Cons: I received the instructions manual in spanish which i don't understand. I contacted the Newegg people for which they asked me to contact Garmin. Why should i contact Garmin when i brought the product from New Egg. That is why i gave rating as 2 star to the service provided by New Egg.

Other Thoughts: I recommend instruction manual to be in English, in addition to other languages when it is shipped along with the product.

1 out of 5 eggsGreat gift for your worst enemy

Pros: Detour feature helps avoid congested streets.
Speed limits are displayed for some major roads.
Screen is bright and easy to read.

Cons: * It couldn't find K street address in downtown DC.
* Traffic routing routes you from high traffic roads with traffic sensors onto gridlocked streets without traffic sensors.
* Voices are awful - misspronounce stuff (words like Bridge, etc.), blur words together ("FORTMEYER" rather than "Fort Meyer") and sound like nasty, mean prison guards.
* Won't tell you how far total route is, only time to get there.
* Setup of the device is cumbersome -- features spread amongst non-intuitive groups in setup screens.
* No obvious way to cancel a route once you've added one (keeps telling you to drive to that route rather than just showing you a map of where you are).

Other Thoughts: I wish there was a zero egg rating. I can't believe what a piece of junk this Nuvi 265 is.

My 5 year old MIO 310 is much better than this -- I thought Garmin was supposed to be a leader in the GPS market. I, for one, will never buy another Garmin product as long as I live and wish I'd never wasted my money on this one.

In spite of the fact that the battery is dead, the screen is failing, and the touchscreen is only partially working, I've switched back to the MIO navigator for now and will buy a MIO brand replacement.

I plan to inflict this unit on someone I hate. IMO this is a total piece of junk.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome.

Pros: Works great, Mom loves it. She can use it and she needs help with her email!

Cons: none that I know of, looks like a very good unit.

Other Thoughts: I would have personally gone with a larger one! great product!
