Buzz
Works great with some nice extras
5 out of 5 eggs
1) Easy to use and great reception. 2) A little extra $ over the regular 1350 and you get the traffic feature ...

Pretty but poor usability, not up to Garmin Standards
2 out of 5 eggs
Nice feel, nice display and the graphics though simple are ok.

1 out of 5 eggsUNIT RELIABILITY IS BAD

Pros: NOTHING

Cons: This unit failed at 5 mounts due to software causing what appears to be a hardware problem. GARMIN wants me to return the unit. Due to all the grief, I asked for money refund. First indication of problem was unit black screen of death and after that unit would not boot up. Also, touch screen never worked correctly even after calibration of screen.

Other Thoughts: I asked Garmin for money back and want to never deal with them again. This is the second unit (different model first) to fail for me while under warranty.

2 out of 5 eggsUnreliable

Pros: Good interface - options are reasonable. Lightweight and looks good.

Cons: I own 2 of these but there are lots of cons - first unit froze up regularly and 1/3 of touch screen would not work - Newegg came thru as usual and RMA'd it quickly. Second unit freezes up every 2 to 3 days and of course at the worst times. Do not use avoid traffic as an option - normally it takes you all over the place around a 2 minute delay.

Other Thoughts: not worth buying - do not reccomend to anyone.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Value, Modest Improvement over 2 Year old Nuvi

Pros: I bought this unit as I had a Nuvi in another car, and it was frustrating that it would sometimes be in the other car. I was a little nervous of purchasing this based on some of the other reviews saying the interface wasn't very good, but the interface is quite similar to the Nuvi 650 that I had; and there are no real downsides. The traffic does work reasonably well near New York City and on Long Island, and it is smart about not rerouting unless necessary. Not having a popup antenna is nice so that the unit fits on the windshield better.

Cons: The occasional ads are annoying. The traffic works well near New York city, but does not work as well 50 miles north where I live.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Device

Pros: Large Screen, Good Brightness, Thin, Does what it is supposed to do. Voice navigation is easy to follow.

Cons: Occasionally the GPS takes a long time to Acquire A signal (up to 3 to 5 minutes) I have found the remedy to either stay still when first turning on the device, or when driving, put it in the front window on top of the dashboard. This usually gets it going in less than a minute.

Other Thoughts: In pedestrian mode (for geocaching) it can be a little more difficult to use, although it does work.

I would like to put in coordinates for geocaching, and have the gps point the exact direction to go. This device tells you to walk on roads and such, rather than just pointing in a specific direction.

It does show which way you are facing, so you can figure out where you need to be.

Since this device was not really designed specifically for geocaching, I can't really call it a con, just a limitation.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: It locks the satellites quickly. Seems to be very accurate so far, and I'm in a rural area.

Cons: Documentation and instructions you receive are very limited.

Other Thoughts: I was very disappointed to start with. My unit was extremely sluggish and would temporarily freeze when trying to input an address. With a little research I found calibrating the screen would remedy this . (turn unit off, press and hold power button while also touching top left of screen until calibration page comes up it's self explanatory from there. This made mine very snappy and responsive.

Pros: Awesome. It works great!

Cons: Sometimes it loses its location and it shows us driving in the middle of a field. Cycling the power fixes it. As is typical with GPS units, it can occasionally come up with some pretty crazy routes.

1 out of 5 eggsAds. Ads. More Ads!

Pros: It tells you that you can save $10 of an entree at Red Lobster!

Cons: You don't actually want to go to Red Lobster.

Bright pixel in the center of the screen.

Other Thoughts: This device is an ad spamming monster. The ads are non stop and cannot be disabled without disabling traffic.

Nowhere in the description did it say that the GPS would relentlessly spam me with ads. My other GPS is a Garmin with MSN Direct that I coughed up $125 for a lifetime subscription for. I'd happily pay $100 to get rid of these ads but even that is not an option.

Maybe they won't drive you as crazy as they me, but seriously, why would you pay for a GPS that spams you with ads when you can get one that does not?

In short, this GPS was a mistake and I regret it every time I see an ad, which means every time I look at it.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks as advertised

Pros: - Screen had no flaws (backlight, pixels, scraches, ect..)
- Directions are easy to follow
- Excellent mount as it allows the unit to be removed without removing the mount entirely
- A free map update for 2010 is available, even if it's only for a short amount of time after registration

Cons: - No USB cable included in the package will be an unpleasant surprise when the buyer goes to update the device. Any normal mini usb cable should work fine however
- Silver face plate feel somewhat flimsy/loose
- Voice (instructions/directions) is very mechanical sounding. The selection of voices is nothing compared to the TomTom units.

Other Thoughts: This unit seems to work very well. It does what it's supposed to without most of the bells and whistles that most people disable anyway once their novelty wears off.

It's biggest problem is the missing USB cable. For me this wasn't an issue as I have several to spare. But it will be an bit of a shock when the online directions ask you to plug in the device to your computer and you can't find the cable to do it.

2 out of 5 eggsdisappointed

Pros: Easy to read and use. Great for navigating unfamiliar areas. The extra features like the traffic updates would be a terrific feature, if it worked correctly.

Cons: Somewhat difficult to update with current maps, very time-consuming to download. Unit should have been shipped with an update DVD or with current maps.
Traffic update feature is worse than useless- it keeps trying to steer me into the worst traffic ( 1-hour delay), instead of away from it (Dallas rush-hour traffic).
South of Kansas City it was indicating a 4 minute delay when there was no delay at all, there had just been some construction going on for the last year or so.
The speed limits for the roads are out of date by up to 7 or 8 years, making it dangerous to rely on- stick to believing the speed limit signs, not the garmin!

Other Thoughts: Buy a cheaper unit without all the extra features. It works great for getting you somewhere you aren't sure how to get to. The main feature I bought this for, the traffic updates, does not work correctly (at least in the Dallas area).
