1 out of 5 eggsI feel, they send me used instead of new

Pros: N/A

Cons: I have purchased a new device, but now I find that it was a used device and they have not supplied any USB cable to find its software problems. When I suppose to update the map then i found that it will connect to PC or laptop like other new Garmin GPS. So basically , they send me old or used instead of new(which ethically wrong)end of the day.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat GPS Bargain

Pros: I bought this to help me navigate through the freeways of Southern California and it works great. It's quick at re-calculating routes should you make a wrong turn and is definitely user friendly. I really like the design and layout because it's easy to use and navigate through the buttons and controls. I like the ecoRoute feature which gives me an idea of how much each trip is costing me and I enjoy the Favorites List to put down my favorite destinations.

You also have the option to customize your vehicle and change the voice on the GPS. FYI: Elfred and an ice cream truck brings a smile to my face when I'm sitting in traffic!

Cons: Sometimes it feels like it's lagging, but I remind myself that this isn't suppose to be a high-end computer ... lulz

The lane-assist feature could have been better, but it works well enough for my needs. Docked 1 egg for that.

Other Thoughts: This came with a FREE Rosewill vent mount (Rosewill R-APG6001). Please read my review there too.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I took this on a road trip to Quebec Canada and it worked great, no problems at all. I like it better than my car's overpriced navigation option!

Cons: none

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Unit

Pros: This unit has every feature I have a need for. Text to speech telling you street names audibly is a new feature to me, and I love it. I also like the lane assist and traffic alerts. It can also keep track of the fuel you use (which you enter when you buy gas), and tell you the cost of every trip. If these things get much better, they'll start driving our cars for us.

Cons: No Bluetooth or MP3. I don't count this as a con, since I wouldn't use either, but I think most people would see it as a con. The driving directions can be wrong at times, it has tried to send me down pedestrian-only streets on several occasions. I bought this unit in Germany because I NEEDED a navigation system right away, and I'm not sure if it would do the same thing in the US.

Other Thoughts: This is my second navigation system, and my second Garmin. I took the expensive route in buying this unit. I bought it at an auto parts store in Germany for €119 (~$150). Add $100 for US maps and $60 for US traffic alerts when I got home, and the $120 I would have paid either way for lifetime maps and I have $430 invested in it.

2 out of 5 eggsCould be better

Pros: Displays current speed.
Good job on lane assist. Lane assists shows you what is going on a lot better than the voice prompts. For example, if there is a left exit and then ramp on left, voice will tell you ramp on right (so you avoid exit) which is confusing. The idea and implementation of Lane assist is good.
Can display additional trip info on the main screen. This unit has two main screen layouts. One is traditional and one is "More Information" which includes some more numbers about your trip.
Has Garmin offices pre-loaded in your favorites.

Cons: Screen feels a bit cheap. If you are wearing polarized sunglasses when driving, you might have screen view dimmed a bit. Just tilt your head to the left for perfect view.
Power wire is too thick, and just doesn’t follow the car profile, will keep the packaging bends for a while.
Windshield mount feels like it has suffered from some cost saving efforts. The wire goes straight to the unit, not to the mount, which means that to remove it (or put it back) is a two step process - remove unit from mount and disconnect the cable. So whenever your unit is not mounted, the cable will be just laying around the car. This also doesn’t help cable to mold its shape to the surface profile. Mounting and dismounting the unit is a two hand operation for me, I might improve in few months I hope.
No 3.5mm jack. This was a nasty surprise for me. I planed to use the AUX connection.
The cigarette lighter adapter fills slightly bulky.
All the cons didn't fit, see Other thoughts.

Other Thoughts: Hidden costs. It will be about a hundred for the maps upgrade (initial upgrade is free) and about fifty for traffic. Sounds a bit steep but I can understand the cost of maps and traffic to some degree, the fact that your maps and traffic are bound to the unit doesn’t feel right. So if I decide that the unit I got is way too cheesy I would lose my map and traffic investment.
Unit does not have a friendly interface to go with alternative route. There are two ways to do it - if you know the way you can just drive and at some point it will realize that your way is shorter and it will stop telling you to turn around. The other way is to stick a via point every time. Both ways are really annoying.
Search interface is corky, it searches in a state, so if you live on a border and often search in two or more states prepare to type the state every time. Why they could not just give me few buttons with states next to me?
Search feels slow.
I own it for about a month at the time of writing. I

5 out of 5 eggsGreat product

Pros: Great product. All features worked as advertised. Garmin software has improved too. Speed limit indicator does display the speed limit for most major roads (see cons for Lane Assist comment).

Cons: Lane Assist does not work in all states and does not display when you are viewing the list of upcoming turns. It only displays when you are in the map view.

5 out of 5 eggsBest One I've Seen

Pros: Worked right out of the box without a hiccup. Screen can be adjusted for brightness and is easily seen outdoors. Announces the streets clearly. Size is good for the car and it will fit easily in a shirt pocket. A-C-C-U-R-A-T-E

Cons: Comes without a GPS USB cord, cost 19.00 and you cannot register the product online without it.

Shipped from Georgia via UPS and was only packaged in a mailing envelope/with thin bubble wrap. I almost fainted when the UPS driver handed it to me. Fortunately the mfg box was sturdy and it only had to travel a short distance.
Don't they have boxes in Georgia?

Other Thoughts: Good buy on this one so I only saved 60 bucks instead of 80 bucks because of the USB cord. Even so ya can't beat the Egg, no way!
