4 out of 5 eggsWorking great for years

Pros: Works great, came with lifetime free maps. Easy map updates and easy to navigate through screens.

Cons: I've missed a few turns on interstates due to the GPS not updating fast enough. Overall, it's not bad but just need to be careful.

5 out of 5 eggsMost excellent

Pros: I bought this device last year and it has been wonderful. No issues and easy to customize.
Would buy this same unit again but see below why I am unable to.

Cons: USB port is now loose on it and my RMA is underway although I find it very annoying I get a refund of $119 ( as I originally paid), No replacement even though I bought the extended warranty. Now this device is $199, I can not afford to repurchase the same one with the refund I got.

3 out of 5 eggsTraffic is a mixed bag

Pros: - Traffic is very accurate on freeways/highways.
- came with free lifetime map updates
- 5 inch screen is amazing
- A must have for anyone who does any driving in a car on public roadways :)

Cons: - Traffic will reroute you off the highways if it sees a faster route on the secondaries. BUT it assumes that you will not hit any traffic and you will make all lights. Totally ineffectual. In real terms, the traffic program is a fail. Just watch your estiamted arrival time climb and climb as you sit in snarled traffic on all the side streets.

Other Thoughts: This is my 3rd Garmin vehicle GPS, but my first with traffic. It will tell me of an accident or congestion ahead, but most of the time there is just nothing you can do about it.

4 out of 5 eggsGood GPS

Pros: Large, bright display. Fast, accurate, clear turn-by-turn directions, Extensive database of points of interest.

Cons: Even though I updated maps immediately before, still had old state highway numbers rather than current Interstate highway designations during recent trip to Jacksonville, FL.

5 out of 5 eggsbought it for the map update

Pros: Large screen, lane selection, speed limits, Map Updates. This is my fourth Garmin product; they just keep getting better. I bought this for the map updates and got much more functionality along with it.

Cons: Heavy cable for Traffic antenna. Not in a metro area, so traffic is an incidental thing for me. Not a deal breaker.

Other Thoughts: To those reviewers who complain about no ac charger -- use the one you got with your phone. This is for use in your car, why would you want to charge it in your house? It is an unnecessary added cost.

4 out of 5 eggsGood GPS performance

Pros: Display is easy to read and bright. Updating is simple and easy, but you had better do it every 3 months or it takes a long time. The download can be as large as 3Gb. Touch screen works well, and the programming is simple and similar to earlier Garmin products. Location accuracy is very good.

Cons: The power cable has a righ angle connector, which means that if you use a dashboard mount, the cable routs itself under the unit and the large block [the traffic receiver] falls on my dashboard controls. You have to juggle the cable placement, or the heavy cable tries to pull the unit off the dash.
In my estimation, the traffic feature is not very useful, and appears to be only a conduit for delivering annoying advertisements for things that I don't want [mainly motels, chain restaurants, etc.].
The option of a power cable without the traffic receiver and a straight power connector would be a welcome feature.

Other Thoughts: I have owned tis unit for almost 2 years, and am happy with the performance and features, except as stated above.
The power cable interference and the traffic ads are the reasons that the unit gets 4 Eggs.

5 out of 5 eggsNo Problems Here

Pros: Works great! Registered the system with Garmin, Downloaded the updated maps and started using it. It's that simple.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I only have a 3 mb DSL connection, so the map update did take a couple of hours to complete. Not a big deal to me. Just start it and have a couple of drinks while you wait.
Just completed a 1000 mile one way drive with it. Lane assist and junction view are very helpful.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat GPS

Pros: Nice big display, free lifetime maps, what a great deal. I had purchased a competitor GPS and the maps were really horrible. This Garmin is pretty darn accurate. Some speed limits were off, I'll have to figure out how to send an update in. Overall I am very happy with this

Cons: It has a few. Exceed the speed limit by 1mph and it lets you know, would rather have a "grace" of a couple of miles. The cord is huge, and reading other reviews it's for the live traffic. Here in the woods, the only traffic we have are the animals trying to make it across the road, so that part of the GPS is worthless.

1 out of 5 eggsBuyer beware piece of junk. Lasted a couple hours

Pros: None

Cons: Unit lasted a couple hours. Now it won't even charge or turn on.

Other Thoughts: If they sell you a piece of junk at least they ought to give you your money back, but I can only return it for the same lousy item. :(
