The widescreen nüvi 1350LMT has preloaded maps for North America, announces streets by name, guides you to the proper lane for navigation, offers pedestrian navigation options and calculates a more fuel-efficient route. It has all the features of the nüvi 1350, plus FREE lifetime maps and traffic.

  • newegg Includes Lifetime Map Updates Right out of the box, the nüvi 1350LMT comes bundled with nüMaps Lifetime. Which means you can download the newest map data when it becomes available — no monthly fees or maintenance costs — for the lifetime of your device. (FREE lifetime map updates entitle you to receive up to 4 map data updates per year, when and as such updates are made available on the Garmin website, for this specific Garmin product only until this product’s useful life expires or Garmin no longer receives map data from its third party supplier, whichever is shorter. The updates you receive will be updates to the same geographic map data originally included with your Garmin product when originally purchased. Garmin may terminate your lifetime map updates at any time if you violate any of the terms of the End User License Agreement accompanying your nüvi product. )
  • newegg Includes Lifetime Traffic A combination power cable/traffic receiver in the box gives you traffic services for the life of your device. You’ll avoid traffic jams and keep moving when your nüvi alerts you and offers detours. No additional purchases are necessary — it’s 100% subscription-free traffic. (FREE lifetime traffic updates may not be transferred to another person or another Garmin product. Lifetime traffic extends for the useful life of your Garmin traffic receiver (as long as you own a compatible Garmin GPS) or as long as Garmin receives traffic data from its traffic supplier, whichever is shorter. Traffic content not available for all areas. See for traffic coverage areas and for program License Agreement containing complete terms and conditions.)
  • newegg Know the Lane Before It’s Too Late No more guessing which lane you need to be in to make an upcoming turn. Lane assist guides you to the correct lane for an approaching turn or exit, making unfamiliar intersections and exits easy to navigate.
  • newegg Turn-by-turn Directions nüvi 1350LMT has an intuitive interface that greets you with 2 simple questions: “Where To?” and “View Map.” Touch the color screen to easily look up addresses and services and get voice-prompted, turn-by-turn directions that speak street names to your destination. It comes preloaded with detailed City Navigator NT street maps, nearly 6 million points of interest (POIs), 2-D or 3-D maps and the speed limit for most major roads in the U.S. and Europe. And with HotFix satellite prediction, nüvi calculates your position faster to get you there quicker.
  • newegg Go Beyond Navigation Also offered on nüvi 1350LMT are standard nüvi features that go beyond navigation. For example, enhanced pedestrian navigation capabilities — pairs great with optional cityXplorer maps to navigate big cities. ecoRoute — a green feature that helps you calculate a more fuel-efficient route and tracks fuel usage. Travel tools — JPEG picture viewer, world travel clock with time zones, currency converter, measurement converter, and calculator. Photo navigation — download pictures from Garmin Connect Photos and navigate to them. "Where Am I?" emergency locator — get your exact latitude and longitude coordinates, the nearest address and intersection, and the closest hospitals, police stations, and fuel stations. It also has anti-theft Garmin Lock feature, and allows you to custom voices and vehicles from Garmin Garage.

5 out of 5 eggsgift

Pros: Purchased the device as a gift, I've been happy with their previous products. The whole process was rather simple and easy to find what I needed.

Cons: I do not have ownership of this device. N/A

4 out of 5 eggsGood GPS just needs..

Pros: Sharp screen
Clear Directions

Cons: SUPER SLOW software updates
CLUNKY installed system
SLOW boot up
Screen information not very configurable
Voices sound lousy!

Other Thoughts: The Garmin is nice and will get you there. But be prepared for 3 hr updates! After I did the initial update, no satellites could be found. I then found out there is ANOTHER program that does the firmware update. (Garmin installs 4 programs; competitor 2.) So another >1 hr was spent on that. I've done updates to Garmin before and assumed they have their act together by now. No dice.

The "competitor" has 3x faster updating with a unified interface for any and all updates. I can't find the map update feature from. There are no few free community voices.

1 out of 5 eggsdefect out of box

Pros: Can say I have had any pros with this Garmin.

Cons: While using the Garmin on the first day entering detestation the screen cracked and became completely white.Obliviously I had some type of defect with the screen. Hope Newegg does not make me jump through hoops to get it replaced.

Other Thoughts: I have had 2 other Garmins in the past and been very happy with them I just think I received a bad one.

1 out of 5 eggsOnly updates Once

Pros: More acurate than Tom-Tom or Mio. Not that difficult to use.

Cons: Can only be updated once. If the update operation goes bad your unit and you are $&@%#. The email support states the obvious and the phone support people can be heard laughing in the background.

Other Thoughts: Don't pay extra for lifetime maps. The unit only can be updated, maybe, once. Buy the cheapest one that works for you.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Feature-rich unit. Very user-friendly. Fast. Large enough display that is bright, contrasty and easily readable. Lots of user options and customization available.

Mine is mounted on a Rosewill weighted anti-skid cushion mount so the unit is easily taken from the dashboards when not in use. (That mount also help isolate the GPS from vibration making it easier to read.)

When Newegg puts this on sale, it's a very good deal. With lifetime map updates, traffic reporting and all the user options, it pretty much covers all the bases.

For my use, once this unit is set up, it almost completely fits my needs.

See Other Thoughts for more info.

Cons: The default voice and audio level is just awful. Change to the "English-Jack" voice and reduce the level to 30% or 40% before attempting to use it. Since it is a set-up option, no deduction from the rating.

Seems more prone to "lose" satellites from time to time if moved from dashboard. Generally not a big deal unless the passenger is holding it away from the windows for too long such as when looking for hotels, restaurants or other points of interest. Since this issue is mostly related to non-standard operation, no deduction from the rating.

Would be nice to have an audible alert when the speed limit changes or when over the speed limit. Doesn't merit deducting an egg, but would be nice.

Other Thoughts: Recently took a 3500 mile road trip with this unit. Great routing, quickly gave us a good choice of places to eat and hotels with plenty of information / details while en-route. Lots of display options.

I ignore the pop-ups that seem to bother others. I don't even notice them much since they are on the margin and don't block the display. Not nearly as bad as email spam. It's worth it to get traffic info and not really much of a bother to me. YMMV.

Map updates can take a while, but that's OK, too. It gets done in the background on my computer, not interfering with any other activity.

As mentioned above, it would be nice to get an audible alert when the speed limits change or when over the speed limit (maybe even a setting for an alert for speed limit + a few mph "buffer").

5 out of 5 eggsI like it

Pros: The mapping system is pretty precise, taking in to account faster routes through even the most minute details (ie, taking right turns rather than a route that embodies no right turns)

The Garmin website had easy updating and registration system.

Cons: None yet

Other Thoughts: Mind you, I have no prior knowledge ever of GPS systems outside of my SmartPhones and I now prefer this Garmin.

3 out of 5 eggsOk unit, good price reduction

Pros: Lifetime Maps and Traffic, Good POI Database, Displays a lot of usefull information including which lane to be in, current speed and speed limit, how far and which direction your next turn is.
$100 off while on sale made it too tempting to pass up.

Cons: Horrible, horrible battery life. With the unit turned off, the charge only lasts about 10 hours. Doesn't seem to charge while in use.
I have to hold the power button down for about 10 seconds to turn the unit on if it is running on battery, but touch it for more than 1/2 a second while on battery and it turns the unit completely off.
When importing locations from Google Maps, it brings you within a few hundred yards of the location, then tells you to 'Continue Offroad' to get to your location. Not very useful when that would mean driving through people's yards and a stream.
Doesn't always choose fastest or shortest routes, likes to stick to larger roads when smaller ones would save ~5-10 minutes

Other Thoughts: Its my first GPS, so I really don't have anything to compare it too, but it is really a nice device to have if you are going somewhere you aren't sure of, or if roads you would normally take are closed.

5 out of 5 eggsGets Me There Without Traffic

Pros: Easy to download new maps with the lifetime map updates as well as purchase maps for other locations around the world. I downloaded maps for a foreign country and it worked great while we were there. From the airport to all our destinations and back. We programmed all the "favorites" in the device before we left, turned it on when we arrived and everything was set. Nice device.

Cons: User interface is pretty basic but gets the job done. No ability to create or manage favorites on a computer and download them to the device.

Other Thoughts: Of course, Newegg shipping is the best....

4 out of 5 eggsGreat unit

Pros: Surprised that it locks on to satellites with the unit placed on the floor of the car, passenger seat, and in the dashboard cubbyhole.

Cons: Only displays distances traveled in integer numbers. Would be better if it showed 0.1 mile resolution for distances under 100 miles. At power down, it will show 0.1 mile resolution for distanced traveled.

Other Thoughts: Directions supplied by the unit should be taken lightly. I found that it will sometimes try to lead you through congested streets rather than take the freeway. Best to know route to take ahead of time, then use the direction suggestions to zero in on the address during the last mile. Trying to add custom maps is an experience!
