1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: fast delivery

Cons: ordered the garmin, received it fast, the touch pad did not work, returned it. Shipping cost came out of my pocket because i was not privy to the availability of free shipping lbel. I received the second one fast, it didn't work, returned it. I still don't know whether i have store credit or not.
in my opinion, if the second product is identical and still doesn't work an immediate refund should be granted. if you buy two of the same product and they don't work then why would you want to buy anything else from newegg unless there was some means of satisfaction?

5 out of 5 eggsWife Loves it on Black Friday

Pros: I don't have to support it, my wife unpacked it and put it in her car... Now she makes me use it. (long story) Highly recommended.

Cons: Wive makes me use it when we drive together... But it did find a new place for us to shop on Black Friday. A few hours later, she had completed her wardrobe shopping and I could go home and recover.

5 out of 5 eggsWell worht it!

Pros: I like the Lane assist, this is especially nice when in unfamiliar territory. I recently used mine to make a 1900 mile trip from Arizona to the Chicago area and it never steered me wrong. I pre-checked my route using Microsoft Streets and trips, and the garmin was spot on to the way I was routed. I feel it is easy to use and you will be able to navigate cross country fairly easily. Lifetime updates are very nice. I use mine in "silent" mode most of the time because I want to hear what is around me and my radio.

Cons: Sometimes slow to update route.

2 out of 5 eggsFree Tour

Pros: Nice screen and Newegg shipped fast

Cons: The two 1390 LMT GPS that I owned sometime direct me to the local street route instead of mayor highway. Sometime the destiny that I want to go just around the corner but this baby direct me to a "FREE TOUR" that is about 2-3 times of the distance to the destiny and I don't know what type of the neighbor hood this baby will direct me through, dangerous!

1 out of 5 eggsBad touch screens

Pros: Easy to understand and use.

Cons: Returned first unit purchased (at my expense of $11) because it had a bad touch screen.
Working with 2nd unit-----I am very frustrated that this touch screen is bad also. Both units have bad screens on the outer edges---center of screen works easily. So...I return this one at my expense also? NOt a bit happy!

4 out of 5 eggsgood maps and ok routing

Pros: I've owned this 1390T ~3 years (I don't have the lifetime maps option). It still works just like it did on the 1st day. No problems with power button or touch screen.

Although I have not updated the maps, the 3 year old map is very accurate. I've used it in New Mexico and Pennsylvania, and driving cross country, and I don't recall any inaccuracies except for the numbering of a stretch of freeway exits in Pittsburgh, where there has apparently been newer roadwork.

It's quick to find a satellite, and quick to calculate a route.

It has a lot of points of interest stored, which is really handy. For example if I'm at the grocery store and decide I need to visit a hardware store or specialty store, I don't have to go home or call someone at home to look it up. I just type a name, or choose a category, and see if there's anything nearby.

Cons: In Pgh where streets are not on a grid pattern, the route is often inefficient, using small neighborhood streets. If you have no idea what you're doing, just follow the garmin and you will always get to your destination eventually. If you have a little knowledge about where you're going (or just look at the garmin map to see what roads look bigger), you can stick to major roads and, when you pass up a turn garmin suggested, it will recalculate your route, often to the more sensible route you were hoping for. Then it's smooth sailing following the garmin voice prompts.

5 out of 5 eggsworks well

Pros: works great, easy to read and use. Got it on sale at newegg.

Cons: update process has problems, use the software download instead of on-line web updates. plenty of discussion on-line about this.

Other Thoughts: I would recommend this GPS, and would purchase again. Also be aware that traffic into uses a different map overlay than regular gps usage, and traffic requires use of external 12 power cable as antenna. not a problem, just something to know.

1 out of 5 eggsMaps out of date and Missing

Pros: Small easy to carry

Cons: We drove around out area including our neighborhood here in MT. None of our secondary roads were on the GPS. It's worthless without the maps! The roads have been in existence for 15 years and appear on Google and are mapped by the county

Other Thoughts: Took it back. Going to get Android phone with google maps

5 out of 5 eggsVery Civilized

Pros: Works as expected and does not get ~lost~ as others have stated. (maybe mine has newer programming?)
Been all over Virginia and West Virginia, and recently in Kentucky without any problems. Traffic works well when you're near metropolitan areas, but the ads are no fun. This "knows" all of the country back roads and it has earned our trust in it.

Cons: Got it from Newegg on sale for a great price, should have bought two of them, one for both cars. My mistake though.

Other Thoughts: My wife and I have started taking off on road trips with the Garmin turned off and we drive for a long way into areas that we've never been before. After 60 or 70 miles, we turn it on and use the Garmin to show us ~points of interest~ for that particular area. We have discovered quite a few cool parks and a few excellent places to eat too. Afterwards, we use the Garmin to go back home.
