5 out of 5 eggsAmazing!

Pros: Screen size, brightness, map updates

Cons: Ads

Other Thoughts: Having been a Garmin users for over 5 years, I always loved the look and feel of the maps and user interface. It was time for me to get a new one and I definitely wanted a larger screen. The screen of this model is just amazing: it is a lot bigger compared to the 4.3" screen models, and quite bright even under sunlight. I only keep the brightness at 60% and can still see where I am supposed to go while keeping my eyes on the road. That's HUGE! I also find the "lane assist with junction view" feature particularly useful. Another big perk that came with this model is the lifetime map update! I have not updated maps in my previous models because of the additional cost and did got lost a few times. Now I no longer need to worry because the maps get updated a few times a year!

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Big screen.
Lifetime maps.

Cons: I don't really like the L-shaped USB cable going in the back. The device is pretty slick otherwise, and this sticks out like a sore thumb.
I also dislike the dashboard mount. I can't put my finger on it, but older generations (e.g. 755T) had a better feel.

Other Thoughts: The big screen is almost too big. I hope they don't end up making 20" devices some day. It might distract drivers.
I purchased this device 1.5 years after buying a 755T (supposedly top of the line in its day). The device dies a mysterious death suddenly (kept rebooting, none of the workarounds worked - installed a firmware update, cleared all user data etc).
It sucked that post-warranty repairs would have cost as much as a new device, that the standard warranty is 1 year (I don't know how beaten up these devices end, but I'd expect Garmin to stand up behind their products for longer; my device was well treated), and that all other manufacturers suck, too, so there's no real choice there.
There's a funny warning in the user's manual, apparently the device shouldn't be used in high-vibration environments. Er, like a car?

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: A very big, nice, bright screen. That's about it.

Cons: Garmin is an amazing company but that statement only applies to their newer products. This product is outdated and does not recognize the newer roads in the USA. If you do buy a Garmin product, please buy their newer product since this will be a device you may use often.

Other Thoughts: Outdated.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes what it should

Pros: Huge upgrade from my first nuvi 350 from several years ago. Loads up and locates satellites very quickly. At first I was worried about the size, 5+ inches but it actually looks good on my windshield. With lifetime maps and traffic, if you can get this on sale, its a great deal!

Cons: A lot of people complain about the ads but they only popup while you are stopped and disappear as soon as you move. No big deal. Another thing would be maybe the lane assist images, showing you a still image of which lane to take during an exit. It usually pops up while I am already taking the exit (but my usual driving speed may hinder that feature as well).

Other Thoughts: Pros shadow the cons therefore I still give this item 5 eggs.

4 out of 5 eggsVery nice screen

Pros: Easy to use, big easy to read screen, speech function is clear and easy to understand. Quick to boot and find its location.
Lifetime updates we easy to register and update the device.

Cons: Having and older Nuvi 760 had me expecting to find some destinations in different places. Some retraining to know where to go to look up parks and shopping.

Other Thoughts: I have not used the traffic function yet so can not review that part

1 out of 5 eggsHated it

Pros: Worked out of the box.

Cons: The maps are terrible. It seemed I was on a wild goose chase a lot or I was directed the long way. I updated my Garmin maps and my phone GPS is more accurate. I called customer service becauase I had to be missing something. They told me to update my maps. I told them I had. They said they were sorry for my experience. Never again with Garmin!

Other Thoughts: I bought my Garmin from a big box store. Ordered a Tom Tom from Newegg to replace this. I have to have a good phone, a good car and a good GPS for work. The software was not intelligent at all. I have a good phone and car. Needed another brand of GPS.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat GPS

Pros: I've had this GPS for a little over a week and I really like it. I took it on a two day road trip and found it to be really helpful. All the features work very well. The speed limit indicator was very accurate and the traffic monitor was amazing. It indicated when traffic was slow well ahead of getting to that traffic and approximated how long the delay would be. It will also automatically re-route your trip, if desired. The large screen is great for the car, it is easy to read and makes operating the touch screen easier on a bumpy ride.

My favorite feature is when coming up to an exit on the interstate the GPS displays a picture showing what the exit looks like. It also shows how many lanes are used for that exit. This is very useful in unfamiliar areas to know which lane you should be in before getting to the exit.

Cons: 1) The voice sounds really bad at times. Sometimes the voice sounds really muffled which makes the turn by turn directions a bit difficult to understand.
2) It took about 20mins when it was first started to acquire a connection. Which made me think that perhaps the GPS was broken.

Other Thoughts: For the cost of most of these GPS's it would be nice if they came with a case.
A few of the calculated directions, made no sense. It seemed to take me the longest way around.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent! This is my 3rd 1450

Pros: This is a VERY good device! I got my first Nuvi 1450 LMT over a year ago and have taken it everywhere. The speed limit indication is so remarkable, my wife thought it was getting a signal from the signs! As we passed a sign that was a change in speed it would update almost immediately. It is very easy to use. My wife who is techno challanged uses it with ease.

Cons: Doesn't do the dishes?

Other Thoughts: First thing I did was update the Maps and Firmware to the latest versions. I like the layout of the map display over the older version.

Device was pricey. And it has popups that advertise various hotels and movies.
