1 out of 5 eggsFailed At Seven Months

Pros: Navigates. Garmin's syntax is fairly easy to learn. Voice is clear and relatively easy to understand, even though I'm getting a bit hard of hearing (It's not just a nick-name...)

Cons: Despite the description, it DOES NOT have Blue-Tooth. But it failed at about seven months of light use. Won't boot, no charging icon, using chargers, computers and multiple cables, no go.

Other Thoughts: Kept it anyway; got it on a Shell Shocker for a gift so there was too much delay before it was opened to return it, and the price/performance was OK. Not stellar, but OK.

5 out of 5 eggsPlanning on buying this.......

Pros: Good price. easy to use although there is a learning curve and you do need to read the instruction manuals with these, to learn how.

Cons: Learning to use it can be a little overwhelming if you don't take some time with it BEFORE you NEED it.

Other Thoughts: I am planning on buying this so I looked up some info on it first. I response to the one bad review, maybe the manuals directions were not clear.
RE: Your device can receive traffic information using a compatible Garmin traffic receiver or a traffic subscription from Garmin Live Services (page 35). A traffic receiver is included in some packages, and is an optional accessory for all models. It is built into either the vehicle power cable or the device. • The vehicle power cable must be connected to vehicle power and the device for the traffic receiver to function.
• The powered traffic receiver and the device must be in data range of a station transmitting traffic data to receive traffic information.

1 out of 5 eggsDo NOT Buy!

Pros: Interface is horrible.

Cons: Does NOT work as described. I've had Garmin products for years, this is the first time the product doesn't work as detailed. The traffic component does not work without additional hardware, though the product makes no mention of it. FAIL.

Other Thoughts: Newegg Support for everything, but this issue has been good. Won't let you return it so buyer beware.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes everything I expected it to

Pros: The Lifetime traffic and Map updates. Works with polarized sunglasses

Cons: None that I have found

Other Thoughts: This replaces my 3 yr old Garmin GPS, which is the same size, that my wife confiscated for her car.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat unit at a good price

Pros: This seems to be a high quality GPS unit that works great. It does everything I want it to do - I can program multiple locations such as airport, hotel, etc. before leaving on a trip, then just push a button or two to navigate to those locations. It's very responsive, quick, and simple to use after a quick read through the manual.

Cons: Just one very minor one - I wish the speaker button on the map screen would bring up the volume control, rather than just toggling mute on or off.

Other Thoughts: Fire it up and actually aquire satellites before attempting to update the software or maps. When I first connected to the Garmin Dashboard web site, it kept telling me there was an update even though I had already installed it - using it outside for a couple of minutes resolved that. (At first use, there was a software update available but the maps were current).

The 2455LMT does have the speed limit feature, although the Garmin web site indicates that it does not. However, in my limited usage so far, speed limits only show for major highways, not city or rural streets. I'm glad I didn't pay extra for this.

Lowepro 4.3 Navi Shield is a great case for this GPS and cables - doesn't fit the windshield mount. Garmin beanbag dash mount is awesome.

When comparing Garmin models, note that some features are much less expensive if purchased with the GPS. For example, it appears that lifetime maps add about $30 to the cost of the GPS itself, but bought afterward, they're about $90
