2 out of 5 eggsMap out-of-date

Pros: 1. Cheap.
2. Once it locks, it's pretty stable.

Cons: 1. The map is significantly out of date - must have been finalized in 2005. Upgrade is now available, but it's priced at $99.
2. Slow. Slow to lock, slow to calculate routes.
3. No wall charger, only charges through the cigarette lighter.
4. Voice distorts at higher volumes, can't hear it over radio.
5. Much bigger/thicker than a more modern model.
6. Battery not very powerful - runs out after an hour of navigating.

Other Thoughts: Get something else. After the (necessary) map update, you'll have paid $220 for this thing - and it's just not worth that much.

Pros: Price

Cons: Not very user friendly or intuitive interface. I have a Garmin that I could give to a child and they would be able to figure it out.

Not so with this. It really does require your full attention to use it.

Other Thoughts: The voice prompts never worked. The nav computer has now failed. RMA time.

5 out of 5 eggsPopeil-like Value

Pros: Got it tonight. GPS functionality is solid. Took it on a test run this evening to attend a meeting. Perfect directions, there and back. User interface was fairly simple and straightforward.

Now how much would you pay? But wait....there's more!

Popped in a SD card and played some mp3's. Sound from the small speakers is tinny (to be expected). Using headphones with the headphone jack was somewhat better, but the simple mp3 player didn't allow sound adjustment. To test the video functionality, I put on the SD card a full, unadjusted avi file and a 320 x 240 sample I had made from a movie with a free program called Any Video Converter. The full avi played, but the picture skipped if there was much action. The downsized video played just fine. Good for throwing a couple of kids videos and songs on and handing it to the back when the children get restless.

The suction cup mount worked just fine as well. I cleaned the windshield with an alcohol pad before mounting,

Cons: *Didn't find my home address. My house is the first house on the road, and my house number (11298) is just below the first house number (12000) that the navigation program recognizes. I think I can fix this with a little more time, I just haven't done it yet.

*After I road tested it, I brought it in the house and turned it on...and it powered itself down again after about 10 seconds. Had to turn it on 3-4 times before it stayed on like it should. A little worrisome, we shall see how it behaves in the future. Also, the battery didn't last very long after my test run even though it should have gotten a good charge from the two hours it was in my vehicle.

*Was hoping that more games could be added to the Delphi, but the othello game does not appear to be on the SD card--which means it's on the memory inside the Delphi. Since there's no data interface other than the SD card, I doubt I can add games.

Other Thoughts: I'm sitting here nitpicking a GPS that I got on newegg for the Shell Shocker price of $80 with free shipping!!! If it only did GPS pretty well (and it most certainly does), it would be a tremendous bargain. Add in the ability to play videos and mp3's, and it is a steal! Even at the non-Shell Shocker price, it is a good buy.

Don't delay, order yours today!

5 out of 5 eggsIncredible Value

Pros: I can't believe how well this works for the money. I look at a lot of real estate, some even way out in the sticks and it pretty much finds my address every time. It is right on the money when it comes to warning you that a turn is coming up, I even like the voice!

Cons: I paid $114 and it just went on sale for $80. Go figure. An incredible value either way.

Other Thoughts: You won't regret buying this. It is even nice for night driving as you can see the turns coming up in the read before you get there.

4 out of 5 eggsDelphi Nav200 GPS

Pros: Very intuitive. once you start using the touch pad, you will easily figure out what you need to do next.

Cons: Map updates are impossible to find (So far). I have been searching constantly for Navteq updated US maps. All I can find are updates for a few other systems but the Delphi is not listed.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great little GPS for the price. Granted it's not going to compete with the $500+ systems, but it gets me where I need to go.

Cons: Built in battery life seems very short even after full charge, but I leave it plugged in at all times anyway.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great!

Pros: Works very well, and easy to use. Gets the job done with little effort. Easy to setup and install/remove, great price to value ratio

Cons: Can't say anything bad really

Other Thoughts: All in all, this thing will probably end up paying for itself in gas money from getting lost. It's nice to just sit back and relax a little and not worry about streets and such. It gives you a 1 mile warning before turns to change lanes which might seem annoying to some, but is rather nice. If you happen to be an audiophile and have music blasting always, you can just look at the arrows for turning directions as well. love it!
