4 out of 5 eggsAverage performance

Pros: Quickly recalculates route when a step is missed, fairly bright display, I like the SD card slot.

Cons: Only ships with a auto power adapter and the battery life is poor. Interface not very intuitive but you eventually get the hang of it.

Other Thoughts: If you are an urban warrior and are going to use this walking you will need to purchase an AC to auto power adapter to per charge the unit.

1 out of 5 eggsNot worth it

Pros: Low price, voice feature is a nice plus, accurate at locating current coordinates, easy to use right out of the box.

Cons: Map is terribly inaccurate and not trustworthy. There is no free or paid update available for the map. This takes an otherwise excellent unit and makes it nearly worthless. Also, it does not hold charge long.

5 out of 5 eggsMio Pocket

Pros: CHEAP! Win CE5 underbelly - standard mini USB connection that you should have by now with your cell phone for charging - comes with car charger and nice mount - CHEAP! Got mine at A-zon. Would have bought here if the 79 price had been there earlier (was 149 when I went looking for this)

Cons: 3.5" - routing not the smartest - bat life could be better (the C220 has a 1250 mah bat, this one has an 850? - what gives Mio?) you can put the C220 bat in this if you're handy - install the missing HPhone jack while you're in there - calculating routes takes a short minute but hey, I'm not in that big of hurry

Other Thoughts: I got this pup for the sole purpose of hacking it with Mio Pocket. Fun little project that makes this gadget much more useful. Tried first placing everything on the SD but it didn't like that. Make room on the flash and do it from there ... no problemo. Had to remove a couple big maps to make room but it's worth it as I'm not going there anyhow. If you don't have MP installed on this or other compatible device, you're missing out - gotta get back to my session of Bejeweled 2 ..... chow

2 out of 5 eggsOld maps

Pros: Easy to use, cheap.

Cons: Very dated map.

Other Thoughts: The map loaded onto the unit is dated 8/2007 and there are no updates available, either for purchase or free. They did have an update available, (for a fee), at one time but it must have caused problems as it is no longer available and users were asked to remove it. This GPS is a very good GPS for the price but without available updates it's not very accurate.

5 out of 5 eggsGREAT BUY

Pros: A great feature is Text-to-speech that states the name of street ,road or highway you are currently on and names the approaching ones .When you’re driving vocal commands are better than the actual map so you will not get into an accident.. Keep display away from direct contact with a bright sun ,it is hard to see just like a digital camera with a viewfinder ..The recalculation is great on this. I wanted to test how good the route recalculation was.. As a test, I wanted to go 5 miles away to my destination. The shorest distance is though the streets. That is how the mio routed this. There is an on-ramp to the highway near my house. I ignored the route that was suggested my the mio and turned on the highway instead. In about 5 seconds the mio c230 recalculated the route and got to my destination by highway without going back to the original route. A new route was calculated.

Cons: I find no cons with Mio Digiwalker C230.The reason I posted so many reviews is because the last ones were not completed. The last paragraph I wrote never shows up.This is my full review

Other Thoughts: With free downloads from the web it can turn as a PDA.I play music and divx movies ,read and write large text files on this baby.I did email Mio tech and spoke to them on the phone and they told me they are in the process of providing an update for the C230 .Another cool feature is that you can add POI. Lets say you want a certain chain store of all locations in the USA or just in your state. Or maybe you want all the beaches in your state. As POI. By using a program iGO POI Explorer you will be able to create your own or download from the web

2 out of 5 eggsHappy, but.......

Pros: Good portability, speaks names,Great Price. Standard MiniUSB interface

Cons: OLD MAPS, new ones not available. Made several mistakes in navigation at freeway exits. The interface is not as intuitive as my wifes Garmin

Other Thoughts: I'd shop around for a Garmin if I had it to do over.

5 out of 5 eggsBEST BUY

Pros: I already posted my opinion, but since I had more time testing I want to add more details.Another great feature is Text-to-speech that states the name of street or highway you are approaching and are on .When you’re driving vocal commands are better than the actual map so you will not get into an accident looking at the gps.Always keep eyes on road.As far as the image on the display.Sure if you got this in direct contact with a bright sun it is hard to see just like a digital camera with a. viewfinder The trick is to mount this in a place where the sun hardly gets at it.I mount mine on top of windshield pointing down. The recalculation is great on this. I wanted to test how good the route recalculation was.For example I wanted to go to place 5 miles away. Now the shorest distance is though the streets. That is how the mio routed this. There is an on-ramp to the highway near my house.I ignored the route that was suggested my the mio and turned on the highway instead. In about 5 seconds t

1 out of 5 eggsNo Updates in 2 Years

Pros: It kind of get's you were you are going. On Highway's it is just OK. It has taken me way off better known routes that a coworkers tom tom would take.

Cons: No updates. I went to their website the first week that I purchased it and complained that the route to my house sent me:
1. Down a dead end road
2. Tells me that multiple roads are not paved. They have been paved for more than 11 years that I know of.
3. The e-mail me information about updates to other Mio units but not this one.

Still never received a reply back from their customer service. Will never purchase again!
