The TomTom ONE 130 gives you brilliant basic GPS navigation, plus some really helpful advanced features to make your day on the road easier! You can choose fastest or shortest route, bicycle or walking route, or limited speed routing to avoid freeways. You can even tell the ONE 130 what time you need to arrive at your destination, and choose your route accordingly. ONE mounts quickly to your windshield with a simple heavy-duty suction cup mount, which is included.
The TomTom ONE 130 comes with pre-installed maps for the U.S. and Canada, and a large database of POI (Points of Interest) which helps you find necessities like food and gas, and fun stuff like shopping and attractions. The turn-by-turn voice directions help you find your destination without having to take you eyes off the road. With a built-in traffic sensor and an “Avoid Roadblock” feature that lets you re-route around construction or other slow-downs, you can avoid burning gas unnecessarily while sitting in traffic. The TomTom ONE 130 brings you everything you need to stay on time and out of traffic in one pocket-sized package!
Tech Level: average - Ownership: 1 week to 1 month
Pros: It's small, it's light, and very portable. It's easy to take out of its mount and carry with you out of your car, and it even reminds you to take it out of your car every time you turn it off, so you don't have to worry about it getting stolen. The software that comes with it makes downloading new maps, voices and color schemes onto it very easy. and often, these things are completely free. It is even possible to create your own custom color schemes and voices. The speaker gets really loud, so you can hear it over your music pretty easily.
Cons: The only problem that I have with this is that I don't always like the way it calculates the route. Occasionally, it'll calculate a completely different reverse trip than the original one, which is a little annoying and disorienting. Also, if construction or roadblocks cause you to have to search for a detour, it gets a little finnicky, and it's not very easy to find one.
Other Thoughts: I actually got mine on sale for $150.00 instead of $250.00, so I ended up with a spectacular deal. And since I live so close to Canada, it has no trouble knowing exactly where I am. I am really glad that I got this, because I don't get lost when I go to a new place anymore.

nice little unit

Pros: The 130 has a more polished UI than the Garmin Nuvi 200 I used to own. The 130 is customizable with different voices, and you can download POI's. It must be tough because I've dropped it several times by accident and it still works. I am a delivery driver and have entered about 1000 addresses into it, and it knows 99.9% of them.
Looks nice and has a bright screen. The nieces and nephews love the Star Wars voices!
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: Wish it had a built-in Mp3 player so I could listen to pod casts on it instead of bringing my iPod, but oh well.

the 130 thing

Pros: it does what it is supposed to: gives you directions from point A to point B; can install couple of custom voices: no space for more. Tomtom self-help page is very useful and explanatory on how to do hard reboots. $80 is more than great price for it.
Cons: This Thing has no MemCard slot. No upgrading. Ever. Oldest Tomtom One have slot. Had to move some operational files so updating process of maps will accomplish.. was soo lucky to not move the wrong ones.. Also I have to do hard boot every time I change a state and it hangs with "no satellites found", and that is for me every week.
Other Thoughts: Google Maps is waay more intuitive, maybe after Chrome OS we'll see Chrome GPS. Don't trust'em GPSsses, preciousss, always have mapss with.. until you can get to internet hot spot in Central Wyomingss..

Simple and works well...

Pros: Updates are fast and easy on-line, menus are simple and logically laid out, voice prompts are very timely.
Cons: Didn't come with a carrying case. Custom voice downloads are almost too funny at times and could be a distraction :)
Other Thoughts: For a straight forward GPS at a great price, I cannot imagine anthing out there being simpler to use or update.
