Has a good Rx
- Pros: easy to use, user updated maps, almost never with out good signal, mp3, big screen, easy computer link-up, good road info, and the poi's helped find a lot in the city's. I was never lost, it got me where I need much better then just uesing a map, and it did a better job then the MAGELLAN I had with, yes I used two gps systems on a trip. lol
- Cons: diving over 1500 miles with 3 big city's it did try to send me down 2 roads that are one-way the wrong way, but I do have maps that are over a year out of date (I am cheap) and after passing them it did reroute me fast, the mp3 works well, but the radio tx will clip if the song is recorded loud, but most transceiver's I have used, do.
- Other Thoughts: I had it with, on a trip in Yosemite, and the rental car I had came with a MAGELLAN never-lost system, and it could not keep up with where I was in the trees, and it did not keep as many satellite's in sync as the tomtom did. it was hard for me to give a 5 star, but all and all this system dose not rate a 4, but it has flaws, I will be paying the money to up-date the map, and see if it will fix the bad poi's and the one-way roads it had wrong.
Works GREAT!
- Pros: Fast routing and rerouting.
MapShare is a great feature. As you find errors you can change them.
The voice address input makes it a snap to enter an address when your on the move.
The maps in eastern NC are more accurate than the other 2 main brands.
- Cons: The mount still needs to be improved.
Points of Interest should be broken down better. As in "Steakhouse; Seafood, etc" instead of lumping everything under restaurant.
- Other Thoughts: This is my 2nd TomTom and I am very impressed with the company. The Tech Support is very thorough and always helps out when I've had questions or issues.

Great GPS
- Pros: Works perfectly as a GPS unit should. It has many features, more than I really need. The FM transmitter is a plus. I can listen to directions more clearly over the car speakers. Has bluetooth but never used this function yet. The 30 day map guarantee is great. It found the latest map and downloaded it for free.
- Cons: My first unit had a faulty speaker. The FM transmitter for directions tends to disable for some reason. Something to do with the MP3 settings.
- Other Thoughts: When I got my first unit, the speaker constantly gave out a hissing noise. After emailing with TomTom support for a week they agreed to RMA my unit. They even covered my shipping costs to the factory and back. When they couldn't repair my unit they sent me a brand new one. Thanks TomTom!
- Pros: Nice screen, easy interface, I love the fm transmitter. This makes it a lot easier to take my music with me into any vehicle I drive. I'm a truck driver that drive the off road Macks, and the over the radio speakers makes it a lot easier to hear the instructions. As a truck driver that delivers to constructions sites there are lot roads I cant travel. Utilizing the block road feature I can set the gps up to not take me down the roads with bridges that cant handle my weight.
- Cons: Once in a while the fm transmitter locks up, but I think this is due to the mp3's, I'm still trying to figure that one out.
- Other Thoughts: I highly recommend this unit to anyone, especially if you like having an mp3 player in any vehicle you drive...
tomtom is the weakest link

- Cons: tech support is the worst ive ever seen. they do not honor warranties and will not honor the latest map guarantee. stay away from tomtom.
