1 out of 5 eggsNot a happy customer

Pros: Tablet worked well when it worked. Good internet response. Good handling of different video formats. Liked the way the tablet was set up. Good picture quality.

Cons: Headphone jack didn't work out of box
Slow charging even with supplied charger (4-8 hours)
Very loud beep with no pattern to its occurrence
Stops charging at all or crashes and won't boot up (see other thoughts below)

Other Thoughts: I WOULD NOT BUY ANOTHER ARCHOS TABLET!!! I had the archos 80 g9 and the headphone jack was busted right out of the box. I figured with blue tooth, I could get along without it. However, 3 ½ months later it would refuse to take a charge. In response to my warranty request they sent me a new charger . . . lasted 3 months . . would not take any charge or boot. Sent tablet back to Archos (paid to ship it back). Got my second Archos tablet 1 week later [was pleased with turn around time] . . . Tablet died 11 weeks later. Sent it back (paid by yours truly). Waited 1 month before calling about it. They said they would refund my money . . would take 30 days. Waited 30 days and called again. Said refund was denied (they were the ones to recommend the refund in the first place) . . said they authorized another tablet to be sent (this was 2 months after I sent it in). Got my 3rd Archos tablet (at this point they have had the table a quarter of the time that I have) . . . 2 ½ months later 3rd tablet crashed and would not boot up. Kept starting up in white boot screen. Nothing I did would get it to boot back up in android. Now past my 1 year warranty. Mind you, all this happened in the space of just over a year. I know people get the occasional bad tablet . . . but 3 of them! Well that’s my experience . . you draw your own conclusions about Archos Tablets.

4 out of 5 eggsMy first upper end tablet

Pros: Great screen size
Great quality screen
Not heavy for it's size
Good response times
Built in kickstand

Cons: No cover on the memory card slot plus card sticks out
Bad button placement
No cover and bad seating of memory card
You have to have a case to protect buttons from mistakes
Options navigation button moved
Glossy screen can reflect too much some times

Other Thoughts: I have had this less then a week but I really like it so far. Got an amazing coupon deal I could not pass up! I upgraded to this from the Vizio tablet. This has a larger screen, better processor, and looks nicer.

My major complaints is you would not want to use this without a case because button placement is bad and you can hit stuff by mistake. This has really good performance but the physical design is bad.

The memory card slot has no cover and when the card is inserted, it sticks out as much as a button. Most memory cards are flush in devices because they are spring loaded slots. Before you ask, yes it was inserted all the way correctly but it still sticks out.

The performance is really good and I have not seen any issues for the short time I have had it. I hope the battery last long then my other. The interface is standard but little differences might take time getting use to.

Most devices have a home, back, and menu button. What kinda bothers me is they replaced the menu button with a "recent apps" button. The menu button is usually there but moved. I'm just use to it being with home and back. On ther other hand the recent apps can be helpful for going back to something quickly.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works as advertised/expected.

Cons: At certain angles, you can see crosshatching on the screen. The screen also picks up fingerprints very easily--a screen protector is almost a requirement, otherwise you end up with a mess of smudges on the screen.

Other Thoughts: Although it comes pre-loaded with an older version of android, one of the first things you should do after charging it up is update the firmware to the latest available version.

1 out of 5 eggsCheap junk

Pros: Cheap

Cons: Cheap

Other Thoughts: Shoddy construction. Poor support. I own 2 of these and have for 6mo. Save your money because these don't last long.
