5 out of 5 eggsLow price, HUGE hard drive

Pros: I haven't run into any of the problems the other reviewers have: it doesn't freeze, the touch screen calibrates fine. I was worried when I got it about the hard drive failing in a meant to be jostled around and difficult to get into to replace device, but I've had it for over a year now and the drive is going strong!

Cons: The hard drive does put a damper on the battery life. I just carry the power cable around in my pocket; it's not bulky. If that doesn't appeal to you, or you don't plan on being around power outlets, take that in to account.

1 out of 5 eggsSave your money

Pros: 250 GB HD, Good color overall nice tablet(if it worked continually)

Cons: Glitchy, freezes up, must keep calibrating the screen all the time. I am on my third tablet and this one is giving me trouble. Newegg is great, but Archos is a little slow.

Other Thoughts: I am stck with this one, but I'd never buy another. The Idea of the hard drove is great, but the tablet is always doing something stupid. Don't waste your money, buy the Acer aaaA200. That is what I told my son=in-law and he has had zero problems ad loves the tablet.

1 out of 5 eggsI got burned

Pros: Big screen, ICS, full size USB port can be used for additional storage. Lots of storage space.

Cons: Overheats, locks up and shuts down. Using it for any length of time causes it to fail.

Other Thoughts: If I didn't know better I'd swear this was a demo product that wasn't quite finished being developed. The firmware updates actually exacerbate the problems and it is more stable with Honeycomb. But any length of use causes it to overheat and lock up and the culprit appears to be the hard drive. It doesn't matter what apps you run. The preloaded apps will overheat it just as well as anything else.

3 out of 5 eggsAlmost Awesome

Pros: The screen is immense, clear and responsive (after calibration). There were no dead pixels. Oceans of storage space. Frequent firmware updates by Archos. Sound is great through the audio jack. The unit was mostly responsive.

Cons: The battery life isn't that great (4 hours maybe), probably because of the HDD, and charging is so slow it won't actually charge if you use it while its plugged into the wall unit. The speaker on the back is pretty awful and annoying. The GPS can't lock onto the satellites unless you have an Internet connection and location fix by wireless networks enabled. The accelerometer had some kind of awful lag. The wireless network range is mediocre.

Other Thoughts: The original firmware wouldn't hold the wireless connection with my ASUS router so I had to download the update and install it by USB. I also thought the GPS was broken until I read about the limitations which I hope will be fixed in a future firmware update. I had to spend a lot of time searching and reading to get the tablet set up properly. Once I did it was great until it started overheating, crashing and rebooting. The heat was so bad that it was painful to touch the audio plug on my ear buds.

It crashed at least 6 times in the day that I had it so I RMA'd it to NewEgg. I'm hoping the second one is better because it could be an awesome tablet. I will revise my review after I get a replacement.

It is definitely NOT for inexperienced users or users who want a finished product right out of the box.
