1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: price

Cons: slow, poor quality, sd card will not stay in.

Other Thoughts: slow, very poor quality. The SD card will not work unless you hold it in. I have two of these tablets. I bought one for each of my sons. They both behave the same way, so I know it is not broken. There is simply no mechanism to hold the card in. Poor design.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat little basic tablet if the price is right.

Pros: Cheap.
Speedy.
HDMI out.
Easily connected to Wifi.
Includes external USB cable to connect keyboard/mouse.
Responsive screen.

Cons: One was missing parts, but VL quickly sent them.
Overheats/reboots at times.
No google play, but Am.App store works.

Other Thoughts: When this was on sale, the kids wanted them so we ordered 3. One was missing cables but Visual Land replaced them quickly. Overall they are great basic tablets. The kids have been very pleased. The tablets seem sturdy and durable. They connected easily to our Wifi in the house (haven't traveled with them yet.) I finally got the mini-HDMI connector and hooked this up to the flat screen. It is great. Added a wireless desktop (keyboard and mouse on same USB connector) and we had a pretty sweet little computer running on the TV.

Ran into a few usability issues - 1) Facebook Game: Backyard Monsters won't run. 2) Spontaneous reboots, but we think that is from overheating. 3) One was having trouble running apps, but it appears to have something to do with the date not setting correctly - we set the date and reinstalled some apps and all is good now.

We tend towards the cheaper basic units that might need some tweaking to work well. We're more PC than Mac in that reg

3 out of 5 eggsNot bad for $72

Pros: Worked fine out of the box, connected easily to Wifi. Browser, email, YouTube and calendar work fine. Able to download and install apps from Am azon marketplace. Recognized and mounted my 16GB microSD card (though many apps aren't able to easily use it).

Cons: Frankly, compared to iPhone and iPad apps, Android apps aren't there yet. For instance, ESPN hasn't upgraded their WatchESPN Android app to include Comcast, as they have done for iPhone. It's still a poor second cousin. I think time will fix this, but it's frustrating for now.

Other Thoughts: Had I paid full price--$150 or so--I would have returned it. But for the $72 I paid for it, for a first Android tablet, it's not bad.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Tablet

Pros: I've 2 other tablets, my first one was from china and the cracked. And the second was cruz t103 and I plugged adapter in and now nothing. Now this one lighter very easy to setup with apps. I played Angry Birds for 6 hours before it gave the battery low message. Games use a lot of resources. I watched the new planet of the apes then went online for about four hours. It runs pretty fast and only hung when I was running 13 apps at once, beats the hell out of the cruz, it would hang on 6 apps. Just one awesome tablet and planning a few more for business purposes. I would recommend this to everyone I know and don't know!!!

Cons: Two things that are cons to me, one at this time firmware not upgradable, and you can't use android market for it.

2 out of 5 eggsVisual Land Connect Tablet

Pros: decently priced

Cons: It worked ok for about a week then had problems with it. Turned it on and it looked like the colors were faded, reminded me of when a computer is in safe mode. The only way to contact Visual Land is by sending a request from their website. No customer service number to call for tech support. I am thinking it was a mistake in purchasing this. I sent a request to them, still waiting for a reply. I am very strongly considering returning this item for a full refund.

2 out of 5 eggsWorking Tablet, But No Market and 7GB instead of 8GB

Pros: Inexpensive Android tablet, basic browsing and other built in-uses seem to work fine.

Cons: Does not come with Google Market, instead comes with a shortcut to the Market website, which I could not get to work because you are required to have the Market app before using the Market website. From the system info it seems that it has 7 GB of Flash memory total, while advertisement says 8.

Cannot upgrade Android OS on this device (without rooting?). I had assumed that, but just am confirming.

Buttons are not very responsive (they require a rather firm press).

Other Thoughts: I quickly tried another apps store, just in case, and also could not get that to work. I would have probably returned it based on not having Market, but the other apps store thing just hardened my resolve.
