Don't buy it.
- Pros: Big screen, good colors, nice shape, good look, all accesories included, long battery life.
- Cons: I'm not an idiot. I know how to use a GPS device. I have a high understanding of electronics, but this thing just doesnt work.
You can leave it on as long as you want, but it will not pick up a satellite signal, making it useless. Entering in an adress is very painful because the menus are painful. Took me two hours to figure everything about it. It uses a Micros*** Wind*** based- operating system (need i say more?)
Moving around the map is also painful because its impossible to move around just to see the surrounding area. It has the arrow buttons and you can use your finger to "grab and pull" but it doesnt work the way you imagine it should.
CPU is very slow. Takes app. 7 seconds to process a simple task like clicking enter or close and calculating a route (once you've actually finished ENTERING it) takes even longer than that.
- Other Thoughts: I thought this thing would be awesome because the specs were impresive compared to other devices, but if there is no reception, what good is it?
There are better and cheaper ones out there, buy something good. I cant make a recomendation since i'm still doing research right now.
Dig the portability.
- Pros: Recalculates if you get miss a turn, can opt to not use freeways, lists business names.
excellent clarity.
- Cons: Does not always get a satellite signal, (could be me), or takes a long time to acquire signal.
Hard to figure out how to get to plain old navigation map, to see where I'm driving around, then again, could just be me.
- Other Thoughts: I like this unit when I get it to work, I did not get it for the MP3 or the picture slide show features, but they are nice additions.
- Pros: You will have all information you need in just one screen and that is something I liked a lot on that.
- Cons: It takes long time to get signal with the internal and/or with the external antenna; no map updates available and/or option to get other regions map.
OK, that is a Newegg police for this GPS, but make sure you read the return police before you buy it.
- Other Thoughts: Good toy for the price, but I wouldn't buy it again, put some more money and get a Nuvi, actually I just got the Nuvi 350 and I will tell you that there is no way to compare. So my suggestion is expend a little more and get a real GPS.
