A tablet cover is included for protection against bumps and scratches. When wrapped in the cover, the ProFolio BT710 securely holds the iPad in place using an exclusive aluminum retention clamp. After contacting them by email, they promptly called my telephone. They asked me to try a few simple tests on the keyboard. When these tests showed that the keyboard was dead, they e-mailed me a rma prepaid shipping label. Within days I received a new keyboard that has been working great. They even gave me a follow up call to make sure I had received the replacement. I would recommend buying this from the egg only when it is on sale, because it is kind of pricey. There are not many companies with customer service like this. The only company that operates like this is Milwaukee Tools. Cons: I had to do without the keyboard for a couple of weeks. Cons: Now 6 weeks later it has died and will not connect to my ipad. This is an expensive Bluetooth keyboard to not work this soon. Other Thoughts: I have contacted Fuji-labs support. I am hoping they can fix this situation soon. I can understand something breaking. The big question is how well a company stands by their products. I will update this as soon as I hear from them. The overall build quality is solid and well balanced. I was suprised to find the hinge and slot in which the iPad sits is actually metal and built solid, providing enough resistence to keep your iPad stable while using the touch screen yet not to hard as to incite fear in snapping your ipad in half when opening or closing the unit. The rubberized texture is quite nice and thankfully is absent from the surface of the keys, making typing smooth and natural feeling as compared to some of the other silicone keyboards available for the iPad. This keyboard also comes with a back cover protector for your iPad and also has the same rubber texture as the keyboard housing. Charging is simple for both the kyeboard AND any other 5V device that needs charging. Actual battery life has yet to be determined, but so far so good. I will note that the hindge the iPad sits in comes with a rubber protector that must be removed if you use the provided back cover plate, otherwise you might crack or damage your iPad surface when trying to seat it in the hindge. If you don't use the back cover then leave the rubber protector on. Cons: The speakers are really no better than the built in speaker in the iPad, but they do provide better directional sound. The speakers lack mid range and lower frequencies, giving it a tinny sound that forces you to use your headphones instead. Other Thoughts: Overall I am very satisfied with the keyboard and its other perks, making my life just a bit easier and more mobile than before. Did you find this review helpful?
