Perfect fit on iPad2 AND new iPad
This review is from: Kensington Black Protective Back Cover for iPad 2 and The New iPad Model K39354US
Pros: Light, thin and neutral in color. Adds just a touch of thickness to the already thin iPad that helps with the grip for me. Effectively prevents scratches to the aluminum back well enough that it'll preserve it in a condition that's about as good as new! It's also not a 'hard' cover shell, which I prefer.
Cons: It's not 'perfectly' clear or transparent. Older, fat end 3.5mm jacks won't plug in through the headphone jack with the cover on. Volume up/down buttons aren't easily identified by feel. Power button cover takes slightly more effort than some might prefer.
Other Thoughts: What you lose in feel regarding the volume and power buttons, you gain in the confidence that if your grip slipped on your iPad and the edges banged on something or scraped an object there would likely be NO damage. This cover lets you casually lay your iPad on as rough a surface as you're comfortable with without adding a lot of thickness. A much better protection combo with Apple's Smart Cover than thicker folios if you want to preserve the iPad's form factor style. But what good is the iPad's 'naked' style if you bust it with an inadvertent careless moment that this cover can protect you against.
