Neal S. 1/16/2013 7:57:46 PM Ownership: 3/5 Verified Owner	Rating: 4/5Good, not perfect This review is from: GARMIN Carrying Case for eTrex series Pros: - Covers most of unit = Protects screen (but is still visible) = Protects sides and back = Buttons are (mostly) accessible (see Other thoughts) - Does not add much more 'depth' than simple belt clip Cons: - Interferes with joystick - Crowds 'power' and 'menu' button Other Thoughts: The case is way better than the simple belt clip. It protects the device without greatly inhibiting access/use of the buttons. However, I tend to operate this unit while wearing gloves and this cover makes that more of a challenge. I find the eTrex 30 hard to view when it is not using the backlight on the display, this cover doesn't make that any better, but it will keep the scratches down. The overall depth (thickness) of the unit in the case is not much more (and may be less) than using the belt clip accessory. It is not as secure as the belt clip accessory. I worry about loosing the unit off my belt when I bump up against anything. In addition to the belt clip, there is a hole in the bottom of the case to allow a lanyard that you may have installed on the unit to poke through the bottom. There was also a small metal loop at the top of the belt clip that a snap clip might be able to clip into. I wish that the case had a belt loop, rather than a clip (but I would bet that most others will prefer the clip). Also, the Velcro (R) closure is on the inside of the case, rather than wrapping around the unit. I think this might be more secure - not sure yet - and this is significant issue for me.
