GTU 10 is a GPS locator that combines a web-based tracking service with GPS technology so you can keep watch on children, pets and property. You can track your GTU 10 from the secure website using any computer or with the free Garmin Tracker app.
Pros: When it works, it works great! I love that it alerts you by email (or Smartphone) when the tracker leaves a designated area (geofence) so you can tell if your car took off on you (stolen)...your pet left the yard...your teenaged driver took the car out of bounds (county, state} or isn't where he/she is supposed to be...etc.
Cons: Mine died on me after about a month or so. I mounted it on the dashboard like the Garmin rep suggested and it stopped working...probably due to the high heat factor here in So. California.
Other Thoughts: Do yourself a favor and get the upgraded subscription as the standard one is very limited.

Reliable to a certain point
Pros: Well this unit can locate your where abouts, I got the app for my phone and its very useful. The unit is fairly accurate. I have it on my daughters car but does not work in parking structures etc.
Cons: Battery life can be better, I have it on moderate and loses power within 4 days and if you have it on heavy search good luck you might get a day if that. An external power source is neede but I would like to see a lil battery pack to attach it next to the unit for a months use. Very pricey for what you get.
Other Thoughts: App keeps loggin off so I have to refresh it everytime I want to do a search that bug need to get fixed. When battery is low like 30% you get a lot of errors on where the unit is or won't update its location correctly. You get year free and for $5 you can get 7 days of history otherwise you can get 10 locations per day which at every 15 min. you run out of hits, then you have to search on demand which suck battery power really fast.

Pros: I take this unit with me when I off road into the deep desert in the S.W. part of the country. In those areas, I lose my cell phone signal, so I rely on this unit, so friends and relatives know my location, if they don't have a contact from me in an agreed amount of time. This way search & rescue can be notified to my location with in 15 feet of where I am.
Cons: Not as good indoors, so keep it in the open.
Other Thoughts: Works for me.. :-)
