Pros: - Simple OBDII reader
Cons: - Limited gauges; On my 08 Ranger (2.3l duratec), it'll only read MAF, Manifold Pressure, timing advance, engine load, throttle position, rpm, intake air temp, coolant temp, and battery voltage. Interesting information, sure, but you have to know what they mean and how they relate to engine performance to make use of them. Fuel flow rate is a better indicator of instantaneous fuel consumption than Mass Air Flow is, for example, and more immediately useful to most people.
Other Thoughts: -Supposedly, there's more engine data available if you connect an Andriod device and have the appropriate app. Even if the app is free, I don't see why they didn't build the functionality into the GPS unit itself.

Pros: Allows you to use GPS unit to monitor engine functions with this bluetooth dongle. Seeing that most vehicles no longer come with diagnostic gauges any more. First off I want to say I do not own one yet but my brother had stopped in for a visit and he did! He demonstrated it for me and it worked great. I cannot remember all the functions but things like RPM, Battery voltage, Temperature, etc. I loved it so much I ordered one. Just make sure your GPS is on the list or it will not work - must have Bluetooth...
Cons: cost of the GPS units with bluetooth and Garmin is the only one that I know supports this.
Other Thoughts: I like the features and the ability to view and reset error codes, I believe he said there was also a code readout in english not just some lights or numbers you still have to look up. I find system performance data information very informative and may help in preventing problems.
