Pros: Data transfer will approach 1gb connection speed, way faster than my old NAS. User interface is easy and i haven't found any limitations to what i need it to do. The drive duplication software works better for home users instead of RAID, its easy to add drives without reconfiguring a logical disk. I haven't found any missing features from the server 2003 OS either, in fact it has more relevant features than regular server 2003 including a terminal services gateway. Hardware is well built, small and runs cool.
Cons: Had to use an XP machine to upgrade the server to the latest version before i could hook up an x64 Windows 7 box. also came with 512mb of RAM which needed to be upgraded due to sluggishness. I dont fault the machine or its rating though since it is an older model now i believe that's to be expected.
Other Thoughts: This should be upgradeable to the new Windows Home server OS when it comes out assuming the memory was upgraded.

Pros: The most quietest server in my room. I initially purchased the server for backups. Setup was a breeze once I got the right software. All my machines run on 64-Bit OS so had to search for drivers. Swapped the original 500GB Seagate drives with four 1TB Western Digital and this was the easiest hard drive swaps. I run multiple servers, 1 Win 7 Ultimate PC, 1 Win 7 Ultimate Tablet and 1 Macbook Pro so needed an easy backup solutions. Its an amazing storage/backup server for a small home or small office network. Works flawlessly, easy setup and barely any maintenance.
Cons: Wish it was a EX495!!! No Mac support but the latest EX495 server take care of that.
Other Thoughts: Had removed the original 512 MB DDR2 Ram with a 2GB High Performance Gaming RAM and that made a huge difference in overall speed. Upgraded the HP software to 2.5 which gave more features for Mac and media streaming. Slowed the server but does its job ;)!!
