Proliant DL380P Intel Server
This review is from: HP ProLiant DL380p Gen8 Rack Server System 2 x Intel Xeon E5-2660 2.2GHz 8C/16T 32GB (4 x 8GB) No Hard Drive 670853-S01
Pros: I have been using HP/Compaq since about 1997 and the Proliant line DL,ML series has been rock solid from 1u,2u,4u models. They are more expensive now but you don't need many anymore to get the job done. I like their rock solid research and circuitry and cooling the fans are insanely fast and these servers are a serious product line for commercial business use. They work well with anything you want to throw at them and they run 24/7 in many of my client's datacenters without failure for years and years. This model comes with a whole lot and the iLO requires a license so please don't forget to buy one. The Tech support comes with 3yrs and they have very good tech support when you have to replace HDD or backplane, mobo from heavy usage after a few years. Very resilient server you can count on.
Cons: The fans spin extremely fast not like a desktop PC this is very high RPM please watch your fingers if you need to be working in it while it is on, I recommend not but turning it off first. The HDD and memory are very, very expensive!
Other Thoughts: HP is a commercial line for serious businesses they pack a punch in cost. You get good stuff though so be proud of your purchase.
