Fujitsu RX100 S7 Rack Server System Intel Core i3-2100 3.1GHz 2C/4T 4GB 2 x 500GB 3.5" Hot Plug VFY:R1007SF010US

Pros: Really a great buy back when I picked it up for $500.

Even Better since I had a 1230 v2 I never used on an asus barebones.

Cons: With the price going up, and knowing the i3 just doesnt cut it even for entry level server it makes buying anotherone( which I was hoping to do today ) a hard sale.

Other Thoughts: I really hope newegg start to stock more Fujitsu servers. This thing has a great chassis, and construction. I would definitely buy more Fujitsu entry level servers if they were easier to source.

Pros: good solid design

Cons: I HAVE ORDERED 4X 8gb (32GB)MEMORY UPGRADE however slot 2B is not registering and result is 24Gb ram. anyone has the same issue or do I need to request RMA?

Other Thoughts: No its not the RAM
Channel 2B failed with different ram sticks
Fujitsu please respond how I get 2x 2.5 upgrade for this server.

Pros: - Quiet
- Powerful (enough for my needs)
- Hot swap + RAID (0,1)
- Includes (2) x 500GB HD's + 4GB RAM
- Has 4 RAM slots, but only one is populated - room for expansion!
- Price !!!

These were recently on sale, and I bought the limit (5 units). I paid $449 each (net). The sale price was $549 each and there was a Newegg promotional gift card for $100 included with each - these brought my net down. I used some of that free $500 to buy additional RAM, and the rest to buy other things - all from Newegg (the credits are only good here).

Take a look at the value here:

2 x HD's = $100 each = $200
CPU + low profile heatsink = $150
4GB RAM = $35
LSI RAID card = $65

Just on these parts alone, I'd be even on the system. But of course, I didn't just get a box of parts, I got a 100% fully assembled, working perfectly, 1u rack mount hot swap server, with excellent quality construction, excellent motherboard and top quality power supply. All ready to go - with warranty!

Even if you got all the parts at rock-bottom prices, you could not build this server for $599, let alone the $449 (net) I paid.

I cant' say enough good things about this deal.... !!!

An equivalent system from Dell (without hot swap) is over $900
An equivalent system from HP (with hot swap) is over $1,200

Cons: - Shipping box was a little weak for my taste. Nothing super bad, but just not the most durable shipping carton.

Other Thoughts: These servers include a matching rail set, but I don't use rails in my rack cabinet, because I've already installed several rack shelves. But if you use rail sets, these are really nice ones - worth at least $50.

So far, I've only installed the OS on one of these. I am using Microsoft Windows Server 2012 Data center edition. It installs very fast with no problems whatsoever.

No drivers of any kind were needed - Windows Server 2012 installed all needed drivers - including for the RAID.

Easy, fast, affordable - what more could you ask for?

Pros: Great design with good potentials.

Cons: Not a server type setup. or a very beginner server setup (SBS)

Other Thoughts: i5 and quad 2.5 caddy system would justify a server name.

Pros: Solid make. Good brand. Spendid reviews - for the product ADVERTISED.

Cons: Specifications displayed in the details section are not factual. Newegg has had well over a week to contact me. Now I'm camping on 2 servers that I would not have purchased. Was told by customer support a week ago that they would resolve this for me; whether it be RMA or otherwise. Dropping a star due to no contact.

Pros: Just got it as well. Good brand, good design and the construction looks solid (haven't booted up yet).

Cons: 1. Biggest CON is the incorrect product description regarding the drive bays. The version I received came with 2x 3.5" disks, while description says 4 drive bays. You would need to purchase a different HD-connecting backplane and 4x 2.5" brackets in order to make the server work with 4 disks. Ridiculous, would never have bought it as a 2x configuration.
2. No appropriate cooling appears present for the hard disks (row of fans is on the left side, providing cooling for the dvd drive???). Will give fujitsu the benefit of the doubt on this even though this looks like a pretty apparent flaw to me.
3. One of the inside fans is missing

Other Thoughts: Good design, good brand but there appear to be some core flaws as well as the incorrect description which warrant the 2 stars. Will update review if support remedies the problem and I test server in action.

Pros: Shipped in good shape. The construction appears to be quite robust. Shipped with two 3.5" hot-swappable Seagate HDD(s). This is NOT in the product details. I've read the ever living bejeezus out of the reviews prior to making this deciscion. If (read the Cons) I fire this bad boy up I will append to this evaluation.

Cons: Bummed that it has 2 X 3.5" SAS/SATA drive bays vs. the 4 X 2.5" as indicated in the image, and within the details tab on Newegg's site. I contacted customer service - they indicated a recourse will be provided. It's possible that if the product displayed on the page cannot be provided I will be keeping this one.
