2 out of 5 eggsWorks for awhile...

Pros: Quiet, low power

Cons: Not the best build quality. Which will show up a year or so into owning them. I've had two and both blew a NIC.

Other Thoughts: Could be worth it if it were cheaper or worked for longer. At it's current price, you could just buy a much better barebones system and plan on it lasting a couple years longer.

4 out of 5 eggsnice little server

Pros: quiet
watch dog timer
settings to auto power on after power failure
supports 2 - 2.5 drives + a small eide DOM drive
2 gige ports

Cons: only 1 set of hdd rails included
back plate is flimsy
usb ports are real tight so you can only use 2 at the same time if the devices are real thin

Other Thoughts: nice little, low power server. I made a 2nd set of hdd rails and am running the OS off of the DOM module, and have the 2 hdd setup in a raid config. Its absolutely silent when the hdds are spun down, which is a lot of the time since the because the OS and apps are on the DOM

5 out of 5 eggsawesome little box

Pros: small & low power, I've had that box for over a year and I love it to death. I use Ubuntu for email serving, web serving, running small computation, minecraft server & all kind of fun stuff. With 2GB of ram & an SSD it will be a very cool server with NO moving parts.
I stress tested the CPU to make sure it wouldn't overheat in the absence of any fan. It really is the coolest home server I've had so far.

Cons: Doesn't have a standard sata power cable, had to hack my own.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect SOHO router platform

Pros: Compact. It's about the size of your average cable modem. Came with a ton of screws and an internal floppy power cable that splits off into two sata power connectors and one molex power connector. 5 minute setup. More than adequate processing power to push packets, log traffic, and serve up a simple set of MRTG graphs. SILENT. Currently running OpenBSD 4.9 with ZERO issues. It just works. For under 250 bucks, it's a no brainer!

Cons: It doesn't do my laundry.
