1 out of 5 eggsDoesn't boot non-windows

Pros: Silent / expandable via mini pci-e

Cons: Won't boot GPT partitions, Wont boot Grub, no ubuntu, no smoothwall

No response from support when asking how to disable secure boot.

Other Thoughts: I have a feeling that either UEFI or secure boot is the problem, but their support alias has not responded to any inquiries at all.

Manufacturer Response:

Sorry about that. Some time the email might get lost on the way. Can you please contact us at 909-594-7600 x 107 to talk to our support? We will try our best to help you on your issue. According to our experience, most issues can be fixed through trouble shooting.

2 out of 5 eggsNot working over VGA connection. No Costumer Service.

Pros: Nice little unit
Better than Atom based units I've purchased before
Very Quiet when used with an SSD

Cons: I can't get this to work on Win 7 64bit over VGA cable on anything other than Standard VGA Graphics 2006 driver.
I tried the method described below installing .Net4 then Intel HD Graphics Driver but as soon as you load it you'll get no display and have to go through F8 and roll back the driver.

Sent an email to Habey almost a week now but have got not even a peep from them.

Just bough a HDMI to DVI cable and hope that works when it get here otherwise this is going back and avoid Habey all together.

Other Thoughts: If you are thinking of using this with win 7 you might give it a second thought before hitting the buy button.

Manufacturer Response:

Sorry. There might be some communication issues. We did not receive your email. You can also contact us via phone. Our number is 909-594-7600.

Here are the instruction on how to fix the issue.
For the BIS-6761 graphic card to work properly, please download and install the driver from our official website:
This model of Intel graphic card requires you to manually switch between VGA and HDMI display after boot into Windows environment:
For VGA output, press Ctrl+Alt+F1,
For HDMI output, press Ctrl+Alt+F4

4 out of 5 eggsGood

Pros: Fanless - silent
Robust build
Works well

Cons: Celeron
No documentation
No built in card reader
Ethernet does not work after waking up from sleep/hibernate

Other Thoughts: Received a unit with 1.3 GHz CPU. For a moment I thought that it was manufactured in the USA, so solid it felt. Clean minimalistic design. But of course it had "Mada in China" in small print on the box. Put a G.Skill 4GB memory stick and Seagate 320GB HDD from old laptop in it. Works well, no problems with HDMI. One problem - Ethernet does not work after waking up from sleep/hibernate.

Had to e-mail tech support to figure out that to get BIOS screen you had to push F2 on keyboard while powering on. Literally while pushing power button and not a moment later.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent Hardware

Pros: Much faster than my other fanless box with the Atom N2800 CPU. Quiet operation with low power draw when idle.

Cons: Only has one memory slots (up to 8GB) and still gets warm under load in hot days.

Other Thoughts: If you have problem with the display driver (VGA only), try installing the OS, .Net4 and SP1 update (and additionally 'desktop experience' for Windows 2008 R2) first before installing the Intel VGA driver. I had problem with both W2k8 R2 and W7 x64. Reinstalling in right order fixed that. Both VGA and HDMI worked up to spec after that.

3 out of 5 eggsHabey BIS-6761

Pros: Small & Quiet - the unit I recieved contains a 867 Celeron CPU @ 1.3GHZ - This little box is ideal for use as an HTPC which is the reason it was purchased (other than the Intel HD3000 issue) - It's been loaded with both WHS11 &, WIN7 64 Professional and after starting up with an F8 and low vga resolution bootup I was able to get a display from the VGA port. I haven't attempted Linux yet...

Cons: Google Intel HD3000 hdmi issues (that will be an eye opener) VGA, no issues. HDMI, non-existent...
Every possible combination of resolutions that should display video via HDMI and VGA only provided VGA. This unit was purchased to use as an HTPC. If I can only use VGA out I need to purchase additional splitters and adapters to convert that to HDMI in order to be certain of any future compatability with televisions. Not every monitor or tv comes with VGA int and it will not be a useful standard for long without Television manufacturers backing. Yes it has a HDMI port, no it doesn't work (Google Intel HD3000 HDMI issues). No mirrored display, no extended display, only VGA. And no HDMI signal out sensed by any piece of equipment I've connected to it.

Other Thoughts: Unless HABEY has some undocumented super secret switch, or procedure for enabling HDMI, I have to say don't purchase this unit because the documentation on the Habey website claims:
"VGA + HDMI video out, dual independent display"
To me that means both HDMI and VGA out need to work. If you only need VGA out, no problem. If you need two outputs, VGA and HDMI, consider contacting HABEY and ask them provide documentation and procedures for enabling HDMI to operate as part of a "dual independent display" per their own specifications. VGA workd fine, HDMI, even as the only output used is not functional on the unit I recieved. I read one other review on NewEgg that claims "HDMI brings 1080p nicely". Exactly how did you get HDMI to work?

5 out of 5 eggsSurprisingly fast

Pros: Quiet. Solid. Fast enough to run Windows with all typical office software. HDMI brings 1080p nicely. Runs HD video smoothly (tested 30 fps 1920x1080 .mpeg from my camera).

Cons: May get hot if CPU gets 100% load. Video is not powerful enough for some applications.

Other Thoughts: The power consumption is about 12W when idle, and around 30W under full load. Must be a best choice for HTPC.

4 out of 5 eggsSimple and fast

Pros: Just had to add Kingston memory and an 64 SSD and it makes a great little embedded system. I'm running Windows 7 64-bit and performance is very good.
Systems stay cool and case is very solid. Nice little package for the ATX Micro board.

Cons: Absolutely NO documentation. Most drivers are available on the Haley web site. Drivers for the HD3000 have lots of problems syncing to the correct resolution. The default drivers in Windows 7 seemed to work ok. The company should at least provide a driver disk for Ethernet, audio and networking. Web site only has 32-bit drivers.

Other Thoughts: I'm definitely going to be ordering more of these system for my factory automation projects.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat HTPC machine

Pros: Makes a great silent HTPC machine. I'm running Ubuntu 12.04 and using it to "cut the cable" (yea! no more Comcast bills). After a week of installation, it's doing everything I want it to. Unlike some other reviewers of Habey gear, I had no problems with drivers or other special software - Ubuntu worked with just the usual Linux installation headaches.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Building your own HTPC setup is still a hobbyist thing - it's a long way from ready for prime time. But if you are able to figure it out, it is just SO good to be rid of outrageous monthly cable bills, and to have a much wider choice of content.

4 out of 5 eggsReview of Habey BIS-6761 Fanless PC

Pros: Easy to install SSD and DRAM, thus, a no-moving-parts PC; flawless playback of streaming Silverlight and Flash HD movies; OK everyday PC performance

Cons: No documentation in box or on website; no drivers in box or on website; you need to hunt down the Realtek audio, Ethernet, Intel INF, HD Graphics, and Rapid Storage drivers

Other Thoughts: Building this PC was an experiment motivated by a desire to duplicate certain business desktop PCs I've used in the past which are almost perfectly silent. Unlike those large business desktop tower PCs, which use large, slow moving fans in a large-volume case, this one comes in a tiny box and uses the case itself to as a heatsink, a clever idea. Atom-based or ARM-based media-streamer units can't handle HD graphics streams but this PC is up to the task. Habey has made a solid product despite a few flaws.

Manufacturer Response:

You can download everything you need from our website. Here is the link.

The utility CD might have been missing. Sorry about the inconvenience.
