5 out of 5 eggsJust Got my 3rd Xbox, this time an Elite

Pros: ITS AN ELITE!!! 2010 i didnt buy from newegg because i was in a rush to get one right after my other 2 broke.(1-2005 model no hdmi out, 2-2007 model with hdmi out) they both run pretty hot even with a 12 volt fan mod.

This elite runs pretty COOL, yes i know it sounds crazy but its only warm in the back after an hr of playing , unlike my other versions of xbox. now i just hope it wont fail, hopefully its not running cool because the fans are not moving enough air out. We'll see what happens i doubt it would break anytime soon. I will be searching newegg for the best air cooler i can clip onto its back but ill give it a week or 2 without it.

Cons: its my third xbox and my 1st elite ever.
Theres no way i know of on how to transfer to the 120gb hdd, the stuff i have on my 20gb hdd. so i havent even plugged in the 120gb hdd yet, its just... chillen i guess u can say. When i get a kit (cable and cd) to transfer my stuff then i will try it then. For now i wait... use the old 20gb hdd

Other Thoughts: standard composite cables are a joke with this elite, i was kinda shocked they didnt have component or even optical oudio out for my turtle beach's. i dunno how much more would it have really cost microsoft to make a component cable with opt out, like what, 3 bucks more... and sell it to us 10X more...

If u buy an elite to use with a standard tv... u fail. it has hdmi out, use it with a sweet lcd 1080p or at least get some component cables. btw i got a 12 foot or so hdmi cable for just over 10 bucks on newegg... using it with my laptop and tv at the moment, i figured the elite looks fine with my old component cables in it, i cant tell the difference at all and i tried very hard to see if there was a difference and if there is one u need a microscope

2 out of 5 eggsGreat while it lasts, after that though...

Pros: This system is great fun while it lasts. Large game library, and a lot of people to play with online.

Newegg is one of the best companies in the world. I absolutely love them.

Cons: The reliablity and durability of these systems are horrible. I have not had this system for a year yet, and it is already giving me trouble. It hasn't gotten rrod [yet], but the disc drive is bad. Every time I put in a game, it says "open tray" as if I have nothing in there, and I cannot play the game. Microsoft has really [enter agitated sounding insult hear] me off recently with all of their products. I am not a genius at technological design, have no degree in computer repair, but I am still confident I can design a better gaming system than microsoft did with their xbox 360.

Other Thoughts: I need to check my warranty. I am sure newegg will continue to be great if it is still active.

I am thinking about modding my next system. I am not sure, but it may be able to help.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: Graphics are as good or better than any other console. People that say they aren't don't know what they're talking about. Buckets of processing power. Much more appealing visually than the original Xbox and first gen PS3. Not a dust magnet. Xbox Live.

Cons: The only con would be not having wireless connectivity standard.

Other Thoughts: Watching a movie via Netflix is a great feature. What's even better is I don't have to use a disc to watch a movie on Netflix like another console out there. And they call that one technologically superior to Xbox 360. HA!!

5 out of 5 eggsNo Ka Oi

Pros: Waht can I's the best at a low price from NewEgg

Cons: Had to buy the wireless connector from a game shop for $100. Of course only Microsoft makes it but it works well for Internet connection

Other Thoughts: Should've bought more games and another wirless controller with rechargable batteries.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome System

Pros: This is an amazing system. I bought this off Newegg with no tax and free shipping. Gotta Love Newegg!!! Anyway I have both the xbox 360 and the PS3 and they are both amazing systems. I prefer Xbox 360 however just because of the online and how easy the interface is. I highly recommend the Xbox 360 to anyone who is new in gaming or wants to jump into the current generation.

Cons: None so far.

1 out of 5 eggsCould've been a good console...

Pros: Graphics, controller is nice.... Netflix streaming... but almost everything has that these days.... good game collections...

Cons: Well.... my machine is been with me like for 1 year and a few months, i barely used it till I got borderland... I started to play it all the time with friends and my box started messing up... The DVD drive gives me an error that cannot read any disk, then it says open tray and close it again... do it and never reads the disk... it works after multiple attempts if it works at all... My first one gave me RROD... I had hopes for the Elite since supposedly they address a few of the issues on this revision... WELL THEY DIDN'T ....

Other Thoughts: When I got this machine I hoped for the best... Just did it cuz I had a lot of games and I was not going to throw them away, so I had my leap of faith with it.... well i smashed my face in the ground when I landed.... I did not had the RROD but I got DVD-ROM issues... Microsoft costumer service told me they could fix it for me only if it was the RROD when I told them they said they repair cost 120 USD.... but the webpage said 99.99 when I pointed that out to the service rep, he kindly informed me that Microsoft incurs in addition expenses when you process a repair over the phone..... this was like a slap in the face and then a kick in the junk.... GREAT JOB MICROSOFT!!!!!!!!!!!

4 out of 5 eggsXbox 360 Elite

Pros: This is one of the newer Xbox revisions so it runs cooler than older ones. I've played for hours on it with no issues whatsoever.

Cons: Newer Xbox elite packages don't come with component or HDMI cables like they used to. This makes sense from a cost cutting point of view but really they could have thrown in a cheap HDMI with it without jacking up the price much at all.

This Xbox also makes a weird high pitched oscillating whining sound while it is turned on- it's not the CD drive because I install all my games to the hard drive so it's never in operation. I have ruled out the power supply and know it's coming from the console itself so I assume it's the CPU fan or something. My wife says she can't hear it so maybe I have a sensitivity for high pitched sounds. The sounds from games or whatever else easily drown it out, it's only really annoying when it's quiet in the room. The Xbox itself works flawlessly though so I don't have a reason to send it in for repair because really it's not actually broken... it just makes a really annoy sound all the time.

Other Thoughts: Took off an egg for having to go out of my way to buy an HDMI cable but other than that I've been happy with it so far. Wifi would have been nice too considering the PS3 is now the same price plus being able to do Blu Ray. Games look absolutely amazing on my 42" LCD in HD.

Most of my friends have a 360 so that was my main motivation instead of grabbing a PS3. I enjoy Gears and Halo but could have lived without them honestly. Most of the games I play the most are available on both platforms.

Good system overall, just with M$ would stop being so cheap and make a good effort to catch up with the amount of features being offered by you know who- for the same price.

4 out of 5 eggs360 Elite

Pros: The best XBox360 you can get.
Does what it's supposed to.
Now only $300!

Cons: So the XBox360 is one of the better consoles out there because of the support it gets through the choice of games. What I don't like is how Microsoft wrings every penny out of you as possible. 1. They charge you for XBox Live, which is ok if you play a lot online and they offer fast, helpful support.
2. To get online, you need to connect DIRECTLY to a router because unlike the PS3 and Wii, this system does not have Wi-Fi or wireless. The accessory to connect wirelessly can cost near $100 (which is a lot for something that can only be used for a 360 to connect wirelessly.) 3. You need to buy a separate HDMI cable for the improved graphics because it no longer comes with the package (about $80.)
Other than that, the system runs pretty loudly when running a game. Microsoft told me this is normal because of how high-end their system is and how it needs to be cooled, and be able to run at such high graphics.

Other Thoughts: I enjoy the 360 because of all the good games out there. It is a system you can enjoy, but be prepared to dish out a few hundred to to get set up for optimum playing abilities.

Would be a 5/5 if Microsoft didn't charge you an obscene amount of money for everything. Plus they are no longer allowing 3rd party hard drive space to be used for your gaming account.

5 out of 5 eggs360+hdmi= best game exp

Pros: Hooked it up to hdmi, what a great pic and the sound is totally different from the regular cable.

Cons: Had difficulty to plug in the power cable inside the 360. Few broken peaces came out but at the end i stuck that thing in.

Other Thoughts: Dont buy 360 with out hdmi it useless you wont see the full potentials of 360 elite
