Cons: I am unable to use this for one of the main reasons I bought it, which is Netflix streaming... unless I want to pay Microsoft $10/month more than what I am already paying Netflix for (no way!)... you can't do any Internet without a Live Gold subscription.... what a rip off. I gave the whole system away to my nephews. The system also has an issue with scratching the disks, making them unplayable. I will stick with the Playstation system, which doesn't charge you for the streaming and internet use. 1 out of 4 people found this review helpful. Did you? Plugged it in and everything works great. Cons: Microsoft requires a TON of personal info just to set up a Live Silver account. I had to do it to redeem a Microsoft points card. That was the deciding factor for me to not upgrade to Gold. No good reason why MS needs my dob, address, etc. just to buy and download a game. Other Thoughts: Packaging from Newegg was light: just a layer of peanuts between the outside box and the product box. One corner was smashed in on both boxes when it arrived. Cons: Would not power on, just a single beep when the power button was pressed. Made for a very unjolly christmas. Other Thoughts: I can't believe the poor Quality Assurance Microsoft has for their systems, yet fools like me keep buying them because the kids like some of the games and xbox live. This unit was meant to replace/upgrade a four year old system that I've been able to keep alive through multiple RROD. However, still within the 30 day for Newegg return, so I wasn't going to break it open and void the warranty/return.
