Pros: Re certified = Same as new without the original packaging. I have seen other threads talking about getting the Dual shock controller with the $499 Model. But i have two friends that have both paid the price and got the regular controller. Easy Network with Windows Media Servers, and Great picture from Divx Files.

Cons: The whole other operating system feature is pretty much a waste of time. You first have to run Linux... create a windows platform on that... and your out of RAM... Video Chat to PC is better done with the PC, although PS3 to PS3 video is simple.

Other Thoughts: If you want to use chat features buy a keyboard... Not a must, but much easier than the on screen text.
Ive used Newegg's re Certified products for my video card, Hard Drives, and LCD TV Saving over a thousand bucks without any problems. Shipping is always simple and fast. Only way to buy Electronics! Guitar Hero World Tour Kit and Tiger Woods 2010 on the way.

Pros: Worked out of the box, came with a Dualshock controler and all the cables. I havent had any issues with it yet.

Cons: One caveat with this model and all models after the 80 inital 80 gig release is that they took out ps2 back compatiblity.

Other Thoughts: Glad I bought this, but was sad when sony announced the price drop and slim litteraly the day after I recived this one. Over all though still glad i got this model.

Pros: The only thing that hints to this being a refurbished system is the plain cardboard box that it comes in. The system itself was DING FREE, SCRATCH FREE, FINGER PRINT FREE. Nice slick and shiny. It looked and even smelled brand new. Touch buttons, I like! It's well worth it for only $20 off for being refurbished. Shipping was $12, so it was actually only $8 off compared to a brand new one. BUT you gotta remember, it's tax free too, so add $24 to the savings and that'll give you $32 in actual savings. It started up without problems and is currently still kicking! Trust NEWEGG!

Cons: It doesn't transform. It doesn't kill people or eat them. It doesn't fly. It FAILED to teleport me to a new dimension. And I once asked it to cook me some eggs sunny side up, but it gave me sunny side down. Overall very disappointing.

Other Thoughts: If you can somehow find a way to look past the stated cons, you may one day be able to grow to love this system.

Pros: blu ray, wireless network, great graphics and a nice media center without having to have a dedicated PC in my living room.

Cons: hot. Not sure if the heat was the cause or what, but I didn't have it closed up in a media cabinet. After about 1 year and 3 months, mine died. Just out of warranty. Options, pay sony 150 and get it fixed, get a new one, or try and get parts online and see if it works. All of which stink... Apparently, they issue is fairly common, search youtube for YLOD.

Other Thoughts: I loved my ps3 till it died... My original ps3 lasted over 5 years before I gave it away. I feel burned, but, I'll be buying a new one. curse you sony

Pros: I'm currently stationed in afghanistan constantly looking for things to keep me content. I ordered this with asus 24inch 1080P monitor, and at first was a little worried that damage might occur during shipping. However I recieved the products in 11 days and it started right up and works wonderfully. I bought madden 10 and transformers to check the viewing quality and it doesn't dissapoint at ALL! Also bought a HDMI cable for 1080p display, and it's beautiful. All and all a satisfied purchase.

Cons: No HDMI cable. I knew this, but that could always help. Not a dualshock controller, I knew this as well and it doesn't bother me a bit, but others might want to take note. *Ordered 2 days before the slim ps3 came out* Error on my part. lol

Other Thoughts: All in all I'm completely satisfied. I knew coming from the factory it should be in working order. Surely they wouldn't let anything leave the factory not working. However I was concerned shipping to afghanistan that it may get damaged. IT DID NOT! Wonderful~ x ]

Cons: Unknown. Dead controller. Sony will take 2 weeks to replace the controller. Newegg will take 2 weeks to replace the entire system. SYSTEM IS NON-REFUNDABLE.

Other Thoughts: This is my second attempt at purchasing a Blu-ray player on the net in the past two weeks, both DOA. I will probably use brick-and-motar for large purchases in the future.

Pros: It is an excellent media and gaming center for the price paid and a cheap option for an additional PS3. You have Blue-Ray, Divx and the ability to stream live from the internet and from your own computer. I use mine for more than just gaming. 160GB for storage.

Cons: Very few.
