Pros: It is a Playstation. Can go on the internet for free unlike that...other...stuff XBOX-360 that wants to rip you off to go on the internet.

Cons: No cons. Very happy with my PS-3 and getting a second PS-3 from respectable online retailers such as newegg.com.

Other Thoughts: You know if is was not for Newegg.com, I would not have anything in technology. The fact I can get this and avoid silly state taxes, and unfair postage prices, (yeah I'm talking about TD.com Ripoffs on postage), I save 25 dollars from taxes. My friend who got his last playstation stolen from his thug friends had no internet connection. So what I did for my homie was that I took his money came to the fine folks at newegg.com and ordered this playstation for a good deal. I bought my playstation from newegg.com last year and it still works. I again have to say THANK YOU Newegg.com for a great deal. You guys are the greatest.

Other Thoughts: The Ps3 is great the main reason I bought it was so i didn't have to pay for a internet ready tv and it works great. The ps3 does bog down my internet but that's alright. i8 wish it was backwards compatible I like old ps2 games more then the new ones. Bluray is awesome another reason I bought the ps3.

not being a fan of halo by any means, sony still has the best console exclusives

Cons: sony has the potential to blow microsoft away in the console market (like the PS2 did with the 1st xbox, like the ps1 did with any other console out at that time) but unfortunately, due to some slightly poor marketing / design decisions (namely the move, which basically seems like a Wii controller in Sony form to me), as well as bad network security (that hack attack hurt them), they are only barely number 2 in the market (not gonna catch Nintendo). Before any xbox fan bois can chime in, I'd like to point out that the ps3 just surpassed the 360 in total sales worldwide, and that the 360 was out for a full year before the ps3

Other Thoughts: If you are a huge fan of the Halo series, which I won't argue at all, then your *one* console decision should be which version of the XBox to get. If you have the cash flow to make another, get the PS3. Especially if you have no blu-ray player, the purchase will pay for itself.
I'd also like to say the upcoming apocalyptic survival game "The Last of Us" looks so amazing, I don't care if I had Master Chief tattooed on my behind, I'd still really want to get a PS3 at this point.

Cons: Even though the software is really nice, it could be so much better.

-The web browser is extremely out of date and slow
-you cant watch youtube in HD, in fact you can only watch in 260p
-I wish it had more apps (like youtube or gmail) and downloadable extras like more visualizers for the music player
-you cant use the hard drive as storage, it would be nice to be able to store document, PDF or exe files
-its really hard to organize music, video, and picture files since you can't create folders (you can copy folders from a USB but you can't create one from the console)
-I wish it supported more file extensions, although it does support most common ones

Other Thoughts: despite some the software flaws, its still an excellent device. for $250 its the best console and value for money

I have had this since June. It is now September, and no regrets! It isn't backwards compatible as other reviewers stated, but I think it is okay.

Cons: Didn't come with HDMI, but that is okay since it is only around $10.00. I got mine for $15.00 at my local walmart.

Other Thoughts: I purchased LA. Noire with it, and it looked amazing. Not to good looking on my 32" but it is the televisions fault.

Pros: Everything came with it, I suppose.

Cons: I plugged it in, hit the button once for standby mode, then again to turn it on, and it almost instantly powered itself down completely - no standby light, nothing. I repeated the first step, pressing the power button, watching it go to standby mode, then again, and it switched itself off. It won't stay on, it stays at standby at best. Now I have to pay nearly thirty dollars on top of the quarter-thousand dollars I spent on this thing to send it back, the very DAY I got it.

Pros: It had played the games that I bought for it very well. Newegg is still the place I go.

Cons: Did not last as long as I would have thought. Got the system in July of 2011, made it till July of this year. It will boot on for about 2 min or less and then just a 'click' noise and its off.
I still own my 4 year old 360' that red ringed the very first day, with no repairs made, and it still runs fine.
And just so you know it will cost you half of the original price to send it in to fix.
Make your choice after reading some reviews if your thinking of this or the 360'

controller is similar to the PS2 (sony likes to play it safe so could be a con)

Cons: since most multi console-platform games are made on the Xbox 360 then ported to the PS3 none of the developers take advantage of the cell processor that combined with the RSX GPU can easily create the best looking games out there (Uncharted 2 and 3). which is why some games look better on the Xbox 360. If its created on the PC the PS3 game looks better than the 360

looking for HDCP supported capture cards is a pain

Sony doesn't take risks with controller design

Pros: It came faster then I thought it would, great price , and you cant beat what you get for the price with a PS3

Cons: it wasn't free, I'm kidding. There's no cons to speak of
