Pros: Love my console, glad I ended up purchasing it, especially with Last of Us Remastered. Wise choice, also picked up Shadow of Mordor, also great game. Great system with power and easy to use for other entertainment sources. Fast start-up and accessibility. XMB is instant and always available for you to pull up no matter what function you're currently using.

Cons: Price, as with any console. Still needs a larger library of games.

Pros: + Plays PS4 video games is stunning detail compared to all other consoles.
+ Several popular streaming applications available
+ New controller offers improved functionality

Cons: - No CD/DVD audio disc playback.
- No multimedia file (MP3, MPG, AVI, MKV, etc) playback
- No remote control functionality or application
- Very few games available almost a year later

Other Thoughts: Sony has really failed their customers by delivering a follow-up console that actually does MUCH less than the previous version. PS3 owners have very little reason to upgrade.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat release but not many games

Pros: Very sleek looking, looks great inside the house. Somewhat quiet, easy to set up mostly and easy for all ages to play and pick up. Graphics are great!!!, the controller is best in class actually, very very nice. blue ray looks great, and the menus are an upgrade from ps3. The free games are great when you sign up for PS plus. Online play is also good. Sharing your videos and uploading is a snap, and they release updates constantly.

Cons: Questionable QC, my optical drive started spitting disks out randomly until i read online the many fixes for this common problem. Batteries die on controller quicker than regular, processor on the weak side, but not complaining. and computers with a great graphics card will laugh at this.

Other Thoughts: Well I have had this since launch day, and I got the xbox one a little later. I like both, but each one has its charms. I love that this is the more powerful of the two, and that it is for GAMING. No nonsense, it has extras, but it is optimized to get you gaming in a hurry. I like PSN plus because the free games are great, and if you have a ps3 or ps vita you can integrate them in different ways. I enjoy looking at xbox and ps4 side by side, but PS4 looks so much better physically. I have a mac pro that I game on and the graphics are better BUT think about it, for $400 you can play battlefield 4 at 1080p...getting a pc that can do this with a respectable graphics card will set you back at least $ if you want next gen games that look good and run well then these actually aren't that bad a price all considering. I barely use this for blue rays since the xbone does the lugging. Other than that battlefield def looks better on PS4. PS sofa play didn't work for me.

2 out of 5 eggsNice but broken?

Pros: Great system. Chose this over Xbox One (will miss being able to play Halo but oh well). It's only been out about a year and its got lots of great games to already chose from in my opinion. Dualshock 4 is very comfortable. Remote play is nice on my Vita.

Cons: Wish remote play would work better on slower connections. Kinda seems like you have to first make sure you have a fast wired connection at home. Then you gotta make sure you have a great connection at the other location you're at. Sorry but most places I've tried have sucked. Mcdonalds wifi, hospital wifi, and friends house so far. None have been even somewhat decent.

Dualshock 4's touchpad isn't utilized enough, even where it would make sense.

Lastly I feel quite a bit at a loss here because I have been wanting to return the PS4 but I am past my 30 days. There a eject button and power button. The way it was designed was that those buttons are touch sensitive. I don't push them and I don't have greasy fingers. The power button seems like it's stuck or was pushed more inward. I handle all my consoles with care and it's been like this since the day I unpackaged it but I thought it was normal at first but when I compare it to the eject button it doesn't seem normal. I even tried another PS4 at a friends place and it wasn't like this. It's hard to describe but the eject button seems to "stick out" more and the power button seems more inward. Still functions normally though. Just kinda bugs me every time I use it knowing that I paid full price for a new system and it's got this small malformation. Again I wanted to return it but I don't want to be weeks without a system, possibly no reimbursement for such a small thing. I do worry that it may lead to the power button not working partially or at all but I am not sure. I didn't really notice it before its too late.

5 out of 5 eggsPlayStation 4

Pros: System Is Great, If You Want To Experience Gaming At A Whole New Level This Is The One You Grab. Understand That The PS4 Is Not Geared Toward Media Like The PS3 Offered.

Cons: N/A

5 out of 5 eggsPretty awesome

Pros: The console is small and compact but also has a lot of power for how small it is. The graphics are decent and will only get better. The game Infamous: Second Son is super fun. You get a free month of PS+ which comes with 2 free games (kind of boring though). The controller is a little bigger then the PS2/PS3 controller which is nice.

Cons: The fan can be a little loud at times

There is a slight Coil whine randomly sometimes.

Other Thoughts: The PS4 is powerful but my computer is way more powerful with at 8 core clocked at 4.7Ghz vs 1.6Ghz, Multiple graphics card with 10.2Tflops vs PS4's single APU with 1.8Tflops. But the PS4 is nice for console exclusives and movies and it was a lot cheaper. PC $1400 PS4 $400

4 out of 5 eggsNot quite next gen

Pros: Better graphics than Xbox One
Controller is more ergonomic than dualshock 3
Slim design fits in most entertaintment stands

Cons: Lack of exclusives
Controller is still smal
Thumbsticks are short and you have to claw your fingers to move them in shooters
No DLNA (no streaming music and video to PS4)
Graphics still not where they should be

Other Thoughts: I love the console, but it's a little dissapointing. I am selling mine and I will buy another next year when more games come out. It has a lot of potential. Sony really listens to their customers, which is awesome.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: best console. smooth OS. I also own an xbox1 and the ps4 out performs it in every way. The OS is smooth and very responsive, unlike the clunky OS on the xbox1. GREAT console.

Cons: none

3 out of 5 eggsPc runs better...

Pros: Rock Solid fps across all games so far no lag or graphical issues of any type, love the overall design scheme of things, bought it mostly for kingdom hearts

Cons: No Mp3 Support which was a terrible downer, graphics to the games are okay but for sure need to be upgraded. you got 8 apu cores to use, make use of em..

Other Thoughts: if you have a gaming pc at the house, stick with upgrading that instead. You can buy a rock solid video card and memory for this price. However if your a sony fanboy like me, its a must have item.
