3 out of 5 eggsGood and Bad

Pros: The headphones themselves are practically unbreakable (dropped them many times and tripped over the cord etc. and they're not even bothered),
Awesome sound quality with impressive bass,
You can alter your voice through chat presets,
Plenty of sound presets for any situation really (although I've never found the need to use anything other than the default)
Mic is great when working...

Cons: Where to begin...
The audio control unit is faulty as hell and constantly stops working (sometimes right in the middle of playing a game) and because of this I would recommend that you just plug the headphones into a headphone jack if you don't need the mic,
There are several cable attachments (for mobile or pc or xbox etc.) but the only one you really need for pc gaming is the one that breaks. It is also the one that is sold out in every single store ever. Everywhere. So apparently it breaks for everyone.

Other Thoughts: If you want great sound and durability, these are the headphones for you.
If you want to use a mic for longer than a year these aren't the headphones for you.
Only buy these if they're on sale

4 out of 5 eggsTurtle Beach XP 7 is a good buy, but does have some slight issues

Pros: The headphones have the dynamic sound range that any audiophile will want to control sound. The ability to tweak sound levels with the headphones is a nice touch. The ACU gives the customer the ability to tweak settings with instant feedback which makes having to navigate through the operating system much less likely. For this reason alone, users will not have to dive into their OS to change much.

The interface with Windows is fairly straightforward. However, users will be lacking good documentation from the manufacturer. This makes using the product cumbersome, time-consuming and frustrating. This is where documentation would grant an additional egg.

Surround sound capabilities are excellent. I've tested my set on multiple movies, games, and music files with no problems with sound quality. Even when the headset is lowered I experience no issues.

I am using the headset with an Asus Maximus V Formula motherboard running Windows 7 Pro.

Cons: During my first year of ownership, I had to return my set for a repair for a broken ear assembly. During my daily use, my head size is small enough to fit the headphones without causing any major issues. However, one of my children wore my headphones (one time) and cracked the ear assembly. I don't entirely have fault with the product, though as my child has a wider head and by him wearing it, he forced the headphone to go to the limit of their adjustable size. Needless to say I was not happy with the headphones being broken. However, prompt shipment back to Turtle Beach and a fast return of a working product resolved this issue. The largest issue I had with this breaking was the design to relax pressure near the ear. I've noticed some headphones have a better design to cup around the ear area and this is where I think Turtle Beach can make some major improvements. By doing so, they would cut back on customer complaints and build customer satisfaction.

Unfortunately, my children have broken a second set of Turtle Beach headphones. Not the same model but the same type of issue. Their head size puts the headset at maximum which is stressing the components. This is the same issue found in the XP 7. Hopefully, newer headsets from Turtle Beach will address this.

As many customers have mentioned in reviews, the tightness of the design occurs for almost any head size. This can be a blessing or a curse.

Driver installation could be slightly improved. Not that the directions are bad...Just the images included are shoddy screen captures - This is a no brainer to fix.

Other Thoughts: All in all the design and the features warrant the cost. However, the design should include a modification for the ear piece to reduce stress.

1 out of 5 eggsFor PC total trash.

Pros: Didnt really find any. Expected much more for the price.

Cons: Upon initial install, unit would not work properly right out of the box. Checked wiring, all good. checked drivers, all good. still no sound, no mic. uninstalled, then did it all over. worked. had sound and mic but all sound from the mic comes back through headset. every key stroke on the keyboard, chair noise, everything. LOUD.

read manual a dozen or more times. read the website to install there software to configure advanced settings through controller. Download program, says firmware needs to be updated. go through procedure, unit dies. literally. WILL NOT turn on, wont reset to default, nothing. windows cant recognize it. Unit will not reset to default as website instructions state. cannot get the unit to do ANYTHING.

Go back, check website for an hour and a half. most tech pages do not work. most info about the product itself blank pages or bad links on company website. i tried and tried and tried for 3 hours to get this headset to install and it isnt worth trying anymore. sending it back and calling it a day.

Other Thoughts: For something as simple as a headset install, i had an easier time BUILDING my ENTIRE PC from scratch with 2 custom water loops, 3 rads, 2 pumps and so on. That was easier then installing this headset. YES ITS THAT BAD. Very poorly designed. Very difficult install. Way over priced for the wasted time trying to get it to work. DO NOT BUY FOR PC

4 out of 5 eggsWonderful headphones

Pros: The best gaming headphones on the market. Very good bass, covers a large range of bass levels. Also with the presets you can enjoys any type of activity. The works well too. This is one of the very few headsets that work with phones without losing out on sound and mic quality.

Cons: The greatest problem, is that you have to break in the headset over the course of a minimum 2 weeks. Although some say 100-200 hours is enough, it really isn't. It feels like your skull is being crushed when used for longer than 2 hours at most, in the first few weeks. After the initial 2 weeks it becomes comfortable for longer use. The other down side is that if you listen to treble heavy music, this headset doesn't cover the whole range of treble sounds possible. The price

Other Thoughts: The conclusion is that if you are willing to spend this much on a headset this is the one you want. After 2-3 weeks of moderate use you get to game and listen to music in bliss with amazing quality. Many earlier reviews complained about the static, which I found is caused by the pgm on the side of the sound card being set higher than zero.

1 out of 5 eggsDont Buy For PC

Pros: Great Quality Build (material) freat sound on mobile devices

Cons: The Headphones have a constant static feedback, these sound like they are 20$ headphones with a $100 quality materials. There is absolutely no reason as i can see why it got good reviews on your website?

This is a junk hardware. I even bought all the adapters from turtle beach after and nothing solved it, watched all kinds of youtube videos nothing no solutions, this hardware is defective, i would like to buy a different brand of headphones.

Other Thoughts: If it wasnt for the static issue, i would still probably not keep it. The low sound cant even process, and when you are streaming movies it irritates me like crazy!

4 out of 5 eggsHappy with it.

Pros: Great headset, very immersive, good bass, nice control unit, tons of wires, good construction. I was told by other on vent that it was a huge improvement over using the speaker phone mic on my phone. The best headset I've owned to date.

Cons: There were some draw backs though. The box came with plenty of wires except the one to adapt their specially designed wire to 3.5mm for computer interface. It can be jacked directly into the computer but you won't be able to use the dial interface. The extra cable is only an extra 6$ off their website the Z Seven PC Adapter. For those lucky enough to have a "TOSLINK" or Optical Audio port in their computer you'll be able to work around this using their included "Console Adapter". By plugging the headset into the dial interface which plugs into the console adapter which then connects into the PC though the Optical Audio port. You'll also need 1 free USB port to power the Dial and Console adapter, the Dial will draw power from the console adapter which draws power from the computer USB port (or console).
The other problem I noticed was that when the volume was extremely low the audio wouldn't be able to come though as someone mentioned before. It will be broken and skip, though you can get pretty low before this starts happening but if you were just looking to listen to some very quiet music while studying I wouldn't recommend these.

Other Thoughts: Great with Video games, Music and movies. Just disappointed as it includes "PC" as a use for it yet doesn't include the adapter that would allow you to use it to its full potential.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: The ACU is hands down the greatest thing invented.
Advanced Sound Editor from Turtle Beach unlocks the true potential to make this sound however you like through 8 chat presets and 8 sound presets fully customizable
WIRED. for a reason everyone complaining has never played in a room with 12 headsets before. Know what youre getting.
No batteries, plays though you mobile phone while gaming if you need calls or want to listen to music.
Can change the sound of your own voice through a wheel on the side as to never scream and perfect volume controls while listening to music full blast and gaming no issue.
The ear cups cancel noise incredibly well unlike previous Beaches ive owned that will get too loud and play sound through your mic these handle that flawlessly.

Cons: None.
you cant say price, got these for 150 at best buy during turtle beaches presidents sale. showed them the add bought them no issue.

Comfort can be an issue for the first couple uses. Act like youve owned a headset before, put them on a stack of books to lightly stretch them out to your comfort level and have no issues after 1-2 nights of that while you sleep.

Other Thoughts: It is a Wired Headset for a reason. Stop walking around while you game. you get a good 20 feet of movability i hear you play better when in a static position.
Other major con is the color scheme? really? grow up. its a headset if you wanted beats then go buy those and look like a hipster all you want.

Cons: you sound like you are in a drive though when you are talking to your friends and the mic doesnt pick up your voice for anything... I have to scream in to the mic for anyone to hear me...
it also hurts to wear them for extended periods of time.

Other Thoughts: Dont buy this headset... its complete trash... for $200+ i expected much better quality

5 out of 5 eggsXP Sevens

Pros: Best Gaming headphones I have ever owned. I have read in other reviews were users have stated that the headphones wasn't loud enough. THIS IS NOT TRUE!!!! First you have manually adjust each 5.1 speaker (preset to medium) After you MUST download the ADVANCED SOUND EDITOR from the Turtle Beach website. Once you open the sound editor you will notice that each frequency is set to about 50%. The reason behind this (per Turtle Beach Rep) is that in Europe their FCC will not approve headphones that are above a certain volume level straight out the box. So instead of Turtle Beach having to create 2 different Sku for the headphones they decided to set the limit to match the European Code. If you purchase be sure to download the sound editor. Again Head Phones are the best on the Market!!! Buy with Confidence!!!

Cons: As others have stated the headphones are tight on your head. After a week my headphones adjusted to my head size. Headphones now feel great!!! NO Complaints

Other Thoughts: Again Best Headphones on the market. I got the free Xbox One adapter with purchase through Turtle Beach Promo!!!
