1 out of 5 eggsPoor Quality, Think twice before purchasing.

Pros: Phenomenal sound quality, this headset doe not disappoint ! Crystal clear highs and solid lows, the surround works well and the circumnaural claim is satisfied well!

Cons: This is the third Turtle Beach headset that i have owned and none of them have lasted more than 6 months. I am very careful how I handle my tech gear and my gaming headsets (PC) always hang on hooks, they are never twisted, handled harshly, or tossed on the desk. The microphone stopped working and after inspection of the cord, I could narrow the bad portion of the cable down to an inch or two. After removing the ear cup and inspecting the wiring, it is made of extremely small conductors (as would be expected), however, the coating on the conductors is so thin that a fingernail can scrape it off with little effort. The return and hot wire for the microphone are wrapped around one another and the return is not shielded at all. Any movement of a pinching of twisting manner would present a risk to the hot wire's coating being breached and a short occurring. I am convinced that this is what caused the short in the microphone wires.

I doubt that this review will raise any eyebrows in the QC department at TB, but buyer beware...these will not last very long at all!

I will not bother doing an RMA, I am through with TB products for life. for the price that you pay for these (even refurbished) they should last at least five years.

5 out of 5 eggsBUY THEM

Pros: I haven't had any problems whatsoever, no static, no mic interruptions, nothing. The sound quality is amazing as well!

Cons: The only thing that I don't like are the number of plugs that have to be added to the back I/O panel

1 out of 5 eggsChristmas was very dissapointing...

Pros: The sale price and return policy. They LOOK good.

Cons: They feel ok. The first pair I got was a Christmas gift and right out of the box, was having issues stemming from the control box this thing has. Any time the wire coming from the top of the box to the headset was moved, even by normal head motions, the microphone would crack and stop working. The pair they sent as a replacement is having about the same issue. The control box for this headset has wiring issues. Even through normal movement, the sound balance fades from the right ear and I can barely hear anything from half of this device. Haven't even had a chance to check the microphone yet. I figured ANY company that sells refurbished gear would AT LEAST TEST THE THING!!! But no. My Christmas present, apart from being damaged not once, but twice, is going to be pushed back into February because I have to return the item I just got back. And yes, I am wasting money on the shipping a second time only for HOPES that this company sends me something that works.

2 out of 5 eggsNever buy that brand again

Pros: Claimed quality and features were great.
Long duralbe cord

Cons: Sound disablanced to the right speaker by 50%.
None of the 5 audio controls are able to fix that.
Audio control is awkward and useless.
Sound quality bellow average.
We are not talking about 5.1 here I was not able to get a stereo quality from it, it is mostly mono into the on ear .

Other Thoughts: Go with a brand name or try it beofore you buy online....

1 out of 5 eggsGarbage

Pros: The best pro to this headset was neweggs return policy. However the ear pads were okay

Cons: I owned this for less than a month, and within 3 days they broke in 3 separate ways. They were not abused in any way, they are just of such a poor quality that if you look at them wrong they fall apart.

1. The AMP connection became lose on the cord and would need to be tugged to get sound in all speakers.

2. The microphone connection would go in and out and need to be rotated to a specific spot

3. The final straw was while I was putting them on the speaker mount plastic tore away from the little cylinder rotating piece that is supposed to provide a better fit. The plastic on these is the cheapest plastic I have ever felt and heard.

These things squeaked with cheapness so bad it annoyed my dog.

You are better off not buying headphones then buying these.

For the love of go DO NOT buy these. If you do you will spend $35 on a $5 dollar headset.

Other Thoughts: Cheap 5.1 will let you down

1 out of 5 eggsBad Mistake

Pros: Good price at $35 if they had worked

Cons: Heavy and uncomfortable to wear for an hour or more. The wires get in the way all the time. You have to have the computer very close to you.

Other Thoughts: I wasted $35 thinking that since they were more than a hundred dollars I was getting a good deal. Boy was I wrong. Now the microphone is not working and two of the speakers are out. I have always bought refurbished items but this one was destined to break even if I had paid the hundreds of dollars for it. I have never bought turtle beach and I will never buy again.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Headset for the Money

Pros: 5.1 surround.

Cons: After an hour, I don't like the pads around the ears. Also, it is nice that the cable disconnects so you can walk away from the PC with the headphones on, but it disconnects in the wrong place. It disconnects from the amp that you clip to your shirt. Really, you should be able to disconnect the amp from the PC.

Other Thoughts: If I did it all over again, I would probably spend more money for a comfortable wireless model.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat Headset while it lasted.

Pros: Great sound quality, good looks, tough well built rugged "feel" Perfect for gaming. Cheap refurbished version.

Cons: Seems to have the same parts fail for everyone. A lot of people think they are heavy *I wear studio monitor headphones a lot and these are about the same weight, im used to the weight* But you can notice the added weight from the extra speakers.

Other Thoughts: Really cheap and great sound due to the fact they where discontinued for the new CoD game and being refurbished. They sound amazing for gaming and when I'm recording in Pro tools. These are true 5.1 so you need to have a sound card with 5.1 connections. To the reviewer Bob, do some research before you buy something. They have that many plugs because it has that many Channels of sound. Front left and right, Rear left and right, Sub/Bass and center. I hope he was trolling. Anyway they have a issue where it connects the speaker cup to the headband that the plastic is weak and breaks easy. Mine broke 4 times total *I just plastic welded them back each time*. The final nail in the coffin came from the wiring. The wires are able to spin independent of the braided sleeve and that causes major problems, all the way up to complete failure. Debating if I want to replace them because of the low price, or just get something built better. Still love the sound from these.

1 out of 5 eggsHeadset Broke After One Week

Pros: The price was right.

Cons: After just using the headset for a couple of days the head strap broke when I was putting them on. It snapped were the head strap meets the headphone. It appears the plastic was real brittle.

1 out of 5 eggsBroken
