1 out of 5 eggshas issues

Pros: Pulls lots of air when its going, uses external power supply

Cons: Bearings in one fan going out after one month already, on fan startup, makes alot of noise, tap it and it goes away. The auto temp sensor is junk, and worthless, the thing kicks on for 5 mins, then off, hardcore gaming COD it never kicks on again, so I pull power let cool, plug back in, fan kids on another 5 mins. They need a ALWAYS ON switch. I'm on my second same fan in 1 yr, both did the same thing.

Other Thoughts: I did the 'remove the grills' mod and this helps move alot more air, and if the nyko fans shut off due to the junk sensor, the xbox internal fans won't be blocked, which actually heats up the xbox further. As you know there are no other good fans out there, so what can a person do? I put external fans on the side to help cool.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great.

Pros: Works Great, Xbox 360 hasn't crashed/freezed since I've installed. The fans draw their own power, which is a good thing. You don't want a cooler drawing power from the xbox 360 itself.

Cons: Not really a con, just a criticism of Microsoft. The quality on their xbox 360 is truly unacceptable. I'm certainly going to avoid buying their next console, whenever that comes out.

Other Thoughts: I'm on my 3rd xbox 360. It's the only game console I've ever had to replaced, and I've pretty much all of them going back to the 1990's with the exception of the Dreamcast.

Unfortunately, in my experience, coolers like these are absolutely essential if you don't want your xbox 360 to break down overtime due to overheating.

5 out of 5 eggsGood, but sometimes break

Pros: I've had a 360 for years now, and I'm on my 3rd refurb'd console. The first two had hardware problems, including the RRoD. After I got my 3rd one, and learned to stay away from the dangerous one that attached directly to the PSU, I found this little guy. Works great, and it pushes out TONS of air! It says on the package that it speeds up due to temperature, but it basically stays maxed out all of the time, since the console creates a massive amount of heat.

Compared to not running an intercooler at all, whenever this guy is attached, it heats up my room, and a good portion of my apartment. And I'm talking about several degrees of heat, which is EXCELLENT in the cold winter months :D. This guy definitely does it's job.

Also, the cord is longer than the power supply is. So freaking long. Excellent for reaching new plug-ins.

Cons: They're built a tad poorly. There's 3 fans on it, two big ones, and then the small guy on the bottom. I've ended up going through 3 of these in the last few years because of this issue. The smallest fan tends to haul. And I mean fast. And because of that, it makes a horrific whirring sound. This only happens after the console is first turned on, and generally goes away after a few taps/smacks or within the first 5 minutes of being turned on, but it's SO annoying!! I don't know whether to blame the manufacturer or the insanely dusty environment I live in, but I wish they would last a bit longer.

Definitely get my $20 though, since they keep my console alive :D

Other Thoughts: This is the best intercooler you can get for your 360. I recommend getting an intercooler that attaches to the bottom and works as an intake, that way the NYKO can function better and increase the airflow in your console.

1 out of 5 eggsBearings went out it both main fans

Pros: When it worked it worked great.

Cons: After about 2 months you could hear the fan bearings screaming till you gave the unit a good whack a couple times, after a few days of that it was constant screaming.

Other Thoughts: Hoping the one I had was just a fluke, I'll prolly order another one to replace mine.

5 out of 5 eggsWorking great for about 1 1/2 years

Pros: Thermally controlled, automatic on/off
Reliable: working great for over 1 1/2 years with hundreds of hours on it.

Cons: It is a little louder than the stock 360 fan but that's hardly a reason not to get one.

Other Thoughts: Except for the poor soul who said his caught on fire (yikes!) ours has worked great and flawlessly. I have one on each of our 3 XBOX's and all 3 have worked great, with no issues.

Like the other poster said, use some compressed air to clean the dust out of your console, put it in an area that has decent ventilation, put this intercooler on it and play worry free!

4 out of 5 eggsIntercooler TS

Pros: The intercooler will undoubtedly pull hot air away from your Xbox 360 at a faster rate than the stock fans will. This is good for virtually any Xbox 360. The TS moves a decent amount of air, but airflow can be improved dramatically with a little bit of *modding* (see other thoughts). Unlike previous intercoolers, this one is powered via its own power supply and turns itself on or off accordingly by using a temperature sensor. This means that the intercooler will stay on after the system shuts down in order to cool it off.

Cons: I can't say it is that loud, however, I have my Xbox setup in such a way so that I am always using either my wireless Turtle Beach headphones or my 5.1 surround sound setup, so I can easily overcome the noise that this intercooler generates. If you use your Xbox as a media center, this intercooler will greatly increase the noise output of your system, which may be undesirable. Granted, it will decrease the temperature of your Xbox significantly. IMO, I feel as though the decreased temperatures are worth the added noise.

Other Thoughts: Okay. For starters, the fan grills that are on the back of the intercooler have a very small amount of surface area for air to be exhausted from. I have found that by cutting the fan grills off (for all three of the fans, including the small one), the amount of air that is pulled away from the Xbox is nearly doubled or even tripled! While this will void the intercooler's warranty, I would say that it is worth it. With my *modded* intercooler, I can play any game for hours on end and the top of my Xbox (which is positioned horizontally) will feel cool to the touch while exhausting warm air as opposed to scalding air. Why Nyko chose to use such an impractical grill system is beyond me... a metal fan grill (if used properly) would have performed much better. It would have allowed more air through, yet, it would still prevent objects from entering and damaging the intercooler.

1 out of 5 eggsWarning!

Pros: Cools great... Cheep... Thats all i can think of.

Cons: Caught on fire after ~20 hours of play time nothing wrong with any connections, and no power surges. caused about $300 worth of damage and since not an Xbox certified product VOID warranty.

Other Thoughts: Would not ever recommend to anyone! unless i wanted there house to burn down!
