Have reception from 4 weather stations here. Can use charging station or direct pin plug. Deep menu's, don't lose manual. Dosn't pick up much hash when on sub channels. seems like good filters in this. Cons: No timer or level on charger? Large, even tho light. Had one bad battery on shipment, cobra took care of it. (may be prod defect, order it 2 weeks b4 you need it) Fixed antenna, tho that is typical for a new design, and the FCC doesn't want you changing it. Deep menu's, don't lose manual. Watch that auto squelch! Other Thoughts: Will do it again, until the GPS version of the Rhino's drops in price. Only FRMS i have seen that gets anywhere near published range. If any one knows oceanside i was able to get clear comms from camp pendelton to Melrose and the 78 thats 15 miles in town with a ton of RF interference the "crypto" these radios come with are Pretty good and will defintly allow semi secure comunications. Cons: Fixed antenna i would have liked to be able to use a few other anntennas for this but w/e They bounce to much..Lost one while I was offroading in my truck in AZ Other Thoughts: I was very happy with these radios I ordered another 2 sets after I lost one Did you find this review helpful?
