1 out of 5 eggsSome big problems with this headset. Stay Away!

Pros: Truly wireless headset. Great range. Battery lasts long. The sound is excellent. Could have been the best universal wireless headset, but falls way short because of stupid design decisions. Complete utter fail.

Cons: Where to start? How about the stupid sidetone of this headset? Sidetone is when you can hear yourself and anything that's being transmitted from your mic. A good feature for some, but you can't turn it off. It's very annoying. An option to have that feature turned off would have been nice. The weird thing is that when you connect the Xbox audio chat cable, the sidetone turns off. What the heck?

The other issue I had was the PS3 chat function. I don't know what it was, but chat was only outputted through the regular speakers, instead of the chat speakers. Meaning that I had to increase the sound volume in order to hear my friends. The chat volume knob did absolutely nothing. It sucks when your game is incredibly loud. because you increased the regular volume in order to hear your teammates, yet you still can't hear any of them because of the loud game noise. I've tried to configure the setting under XMB, but nothing. If I chose anything other than F540, chat won't work

Other Thoughts: Continued...

The mic itself will hear anything and everything around you. My friends online could hear everything in my house, because the mic is so sensitive. It's annoying. The weird thing? If connected with the Xbox chat cable, then the mic works like normal. No outside noise, and my friends only hear me. Only now I have a long strand of cable dangling from my left ear while playing PS3. What the heck is wrong with this headest!!

The other thing is regarding PC functionality. That actually friggin' works. Yes, even though PC isn't officially supported, this headset actually worked properly on the PC. I still got that annoying sidetone (which goes away with the Xbox chat cable), but everything outputted to their proper speaker. Game sounds went to the regular speakers, and chat came out of the chat speaker. The way it's supposed to be!!

For anyone considering buying this as a universal headset, please reconsider. This headset is mind boggling. Don't

3 out of 5 eggsNot Logitech Quality

Pros: -Comfortable -Great range even through walls - Great sound quality -Made very well, top notch construction, feels really solid.

Cons: Like EVERYONE else, I had to replace the mic cable, within weeks of purchase. Then after 8 months the mic quit working altogether (the headphones still work great tho).
Other Cons: -little heavier then the Turtle Beaches -more bassy then the Turtle Beaches (which is a pro if listen to alot of music)

Other Thoughts: Been buying Logitech headsets, keyboards, and mice for years. I recommand them to everyone. This XBox headset was a little bit of a let down, after years of buying the PC headsets. The mic on this headset was constant trouble. IF they ever revise this product and fix this issue, it would be easily be the BEST console headset for under $150.

5 out of 5 eggsVery happy with my headset

Pros: The sound quality is crystal clear and just magnificent.

The packaging was simple and smart.
-All wires come in their own boxes that tell you exactly what they're used for...almost(check Cons).

The headset is very comfortable. The padding is water resistant, so it's easy to clean up if you sweat a bit on the hot days, unlike headsets with cloth padding.

I love the auto-mute function when lifting my mic out of my face.

Very simple setup.

Cons: The biggest con I have, and is apparent when reading through the reviews is this:
You CAN connect this headset to your PC/Laptop using the PS3 USB cable. Nowhere does it say this in the directions or on the box.

So, it's a con due to poor directions, but it's also a PRO as you CAN use it with your computer! So, ignore all the comments that claim they were unable to use it with your computers at work blah blah. IT WORKS! (Thank you Google)

Extra care must be taken when plugging the charger in and out of the headset. Mine is still in tact, by I have two friends that went through to cable so far. Be very gentle.

Other Thoughts: THE headset functionality WILL WORK ON YOUR PC/LAPTOP. I cannot stress that fact enough. Ignore all reviews claiming that it will not.

1 out of 5 eggsStay Away!

Pros: Audio is good and appear well built

Cons: The cable is defective and will start cutting in and out either sound or mic after about a month. I found a replacement cable for $5 but it had to be modified (with a razor blade) because he channel it plugs in to is too small. This worked ok for a while but now the right speaker cuts out frequently. I RMAed my first set but the same issues occurred.

Other Thoughts: The audio is decent and the casing hasnt broken yet but with the cable issue (which is obviously a design flaw or poor quality) along with the recent speaker issue makes me regret this purchase. I also looked bad because 4 of my friends bought them on my reccommendation and now they are having the exact same issues.

4 out of 5 eggsNot bad at all

Pros: The headset came in a very easy way to set up, with each cable in a separate box showing what that cable was for. The sound quality and battery life are very good.

Cons: if the battery dies, the cable is not long enough to reach your headset from the TV, but if you have a laptop near you can charge it easily (USB Connection).

Other Thoughts: when the headset is muted/unmuted the headset will make a *beeb* sound, and the headset will also broadcast this sound, so if you are playing COD, and you unmute your mic in a game, your team will all hear the *beep* sound.

5 out of 5 eggsBest option for xbox AND ps3

Pros: I don't usually rate stuff, but these are the ones to buy if you happen to have both an xbox and ps3. I spend HOURS searching through other brand's reviews before stumbling on these and wonder why more people aren't talking about them.

-They sound great. Not surround sound, but you probably won't care since you can still make out what direction sounds are coming from. I'm a little audiophil-y and these have me impressed. Bass and treble are very nice. The mic works very well and is flexible.

-They're well made. Overall, these are solid and should hold up for a long time.

-Comfortable. I wear glasses most of the time, and I can wear these for a couple hours at a time with no problem. Even though you look like you could wave a plane in on the runway, they're not too heavy and don't hurt after a couple hours.

-Battery life. I'm no scientist, but I'm averaging about 6-7 hours before they start to make intermittent beeps to let me know it's almost time for a charge. Maybe long

Cons: -These don't plug directly into new xbox slims. I'm pretty sure it's actually Microsoft's fault for using a proprietary HDMI cable so big that can't fit both at the same time. The workaround for xbox 360 slim models is to just plug the white and red cable to your TV, and the other end to the receiver. That's how I'm doing it, and it works great. It's nice to also be able to watch TV with these by just switching inputs on the headset.

-Can be a little tough to connect the micro-USB into the headset, definitely not to be attempted in the dark.

-Kinda flimsy feeling buttons, but meh.

Other Thoughts: You might actually be able to get some big glowsticks and wave a plane down onto the tarmac with these on.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Better build quality than the PX5 (which I returned), rechargeable batteries (through USB), comfortable, easy to set up, awesome sound quality.

I bought these for use with me PS3, they also work great on the PC (yes, even with the MIC, you just have to USB the box the the PC).
The packaging is superb, makes Turtle Beach look amateur.
The transmitter is easy to hide and has 2 inputs, which are selectable from the headset.

Completely wireless for PS3 and PC. Sorry xbox guys, you need to use a cord from the headset to the controller.

Awesome sound isolation, my wife couldn't hear me playing (like 10 feet away) and I could have the volume cranked.

Cons: not surround, but I knew that when I bought them. Besides, the sound quality destroys the simulated surround on PX5's anyways.

after playing for a long time (like 5 hours) my head started to hurt a little, but I think it was the headset pushing on my glasses, not so much the headset itself.

Other Thoughts: I tried the Sony headset for the PS3, the PX5, and this F540 (all from the local box-sorry newegg!) and this is hands down the best quality, most comfortable set. It doesn't have the dsp processed surround like the other sets do, but I don't like what DSP surround sounds like anyways.

3 out of 5 eggsWere awesome.....were

Pros: Great headphone quality. Comfortable. 3 stars for these aspects alone.

Cons: The cable and/or cable jack breaks eventually. 5 out of 7 of these have proven to break. It just seems like a cheap cable or faulty jack that cuts your chat in and out. Touching the cable slightly can make it come back on.

Other Thoughts: I really liked this headset when i got it. Recommended it to friends, 3 of which bought them. I feel bad now because i had to RMA my first pair, i still have the second pair that is broken, and two of my friends have the same issue.

1 out of 5 eggslisten to me, don't waste your money

Pros: the sound quality is good
the battery life is long

Cons: where to begin.... first off I'm just made that I took a chance on these and when I bought them there was only returns for replacements... poor show newegg. now to the headset
1. doesn't work wireless with xbox chat, you still have to plug in the wire to your controller
2. the sound play back of your voice works only when you don't have the xbox chat line plugged in... give me a break, why would you ever want that to happen?
3.since I wasn't happy with using this for my xbox I thought I might just bring it to work since I'm in conference calls all the time and I could listen to music on them as well. Nope, there is no capability to use these with your laptop with a mic.

you would think since it cost $50 more than the G930, at least it was when I bought them, then it would have more features without remove other essentials.

Other Thoughts: Just get the G930 for use with your laptop for your xbox go with something from turtle beach, they actually test their headsets before they sell them

1 out of 5 eggsF540

Pros: Its a good headset in many ways

Cons: But the fact that they advertise that you can change the batteries and that they provide the batteries AND THEN THEY DONT makes this a temporary product. basicly once the battery cycles die on this headphone, instead of being able to pay 5-10$ for new batteries, you have to throw them away....
