Crackdown pushes the action-driving hybrid genre into the next generation with the first ever truly 3-D playground. Enforce justice by any means necessary in a crime-ridden urban center built to encourage the exploration of the full width, depth, and height of the city. Coupled with highly innovative co-op gameplay, a first for the genre, and an interactive world where nearly anything can be used as a weapon, create a volatile cocktail of action as you clean up the streets.
Crackdown is developed by Scotland's Real Time Worlds exclusively for Microsoft Game Studios and Xbox 360. Real Time Worlds is led by Dave Jones, the creative mastermind behind some of the most innovative and best-selling video games including the global blockbuster Grand Theft Auto and the legendary hit Lemmings.

Get this game!
- Pros: *Big, open world
*Character progression -- go from being able to throw sandbags 150 feet to throwing trucks 150 yards! *I love the narrator! And the ambient conversation from the police and citizens. *Good controls, good variety of weapons. Although you'll stick to your favs after a while. * I love that you can tackle each mission in a variety of ways. Depending on whether you want to sneak in, bash in the front door, or find that hidden entrance that pops you right into the heart of the complex. * Easy enough for me to be able to finish it... although only on the easy level. :( * The DLC adds some fun to it, but don't use the keys to the city until after you finish, or you'll ruin the experience. * I like a challenge, and finding all the hidden orbs and agility orbs will keep you busy for a while. Lots of foot races, vehicle races, etc to add to the challenge.
- Cons: * It's an old title, and the graphics take some getting used to. They're not bad, but stylized. I didn't like the graphics at first, and this was my first 360 game, so that's saying something. But once I got used to it, I really liked it.
*The citizens get in the way too much. It's hard not to kill them by accident, which really messes with your advancement, and keeps the cops pinging at you with their pop guns, which is annoying. *If you recommend this to your hispanic friend who lives with his mom who speaks only Spanish, remember to warn him about the Spanish cuss words in the Hispanic third of the city. Oops. My bad.
- Other Thoughts: I think it's underrated. I don;t care for GTA games. I tried GTA III, haven't played IV. But I love this game. It's addicting to me! When I stand on a hugely tall building, over-looking the city, and prepare myself to leap across to another building, I get lost in the scenery. Then the narrator, your agent's guide, asks in a loud voice "What's wrong agent? You SCARED?" LOL! The dude adds a really cool element to the game.
Anyway, GTA may be better, I don't know, can't really compare. But for 13 bucks, this game is 100 pounds of fun stuffed into a five pound bag.
Real impressive
- Pros: Extremely impressive game. This game offers a lot of replay value, with the co-op (online and system linking), levels of difficulty, collecting orbs and stat system, and finally the downloadable content. The sandbox aspect of this game I found to be even more amazing than Grand Theft Auto 4, because of the ability to traverse through the air as easily as on the ground. Also, the game has an amazing draw distance, so you can see very far (and the update also allowed players to see explosions from a distance). Because of this, there is also a rare or almost non-existent textural problems you would see in GTA IV. The graphics are well-done, that is if you're a fan of cell-shading. The game play is intense and more-so playing cooperatively.
- Cons: The overall story of this game is a bit lacking, as it feels like a checklist and things you have to complete before moving on. The driving aspects in this game feels as if you're driving on ice, and the camera angle of driving doesn't pan well around the car. From what I can make of it, it is just like Burnout Paradise (using the same engine ,Renderware) in that you can only look at your car from the left or right. Also, civilians in this game seem to be more of a bother because running into one is just like running into a brick wall, and are easy to get into your way (such as battling an enemy with a crowd running through the gunfire). Tips also appear a lot, and cannot be turned off. Overall, with the lack of story, the game seems to end soon.
- Other Thoughts: I have not tried co-op yet, but I've seen what it is like. I do not know how seamless it is when you join or host a Crackdown game. The downloadable content (free) actually offers a lot, and the premium one is not such a bad buy, considering how the purchase of Crackdown is fairly cheap. There is also Crackdown 2 to look forward too.

great game
- Pros: basically this is gta with super powers and coop
- Cons: none really
- Other Thoughts: there arent many people online
there is a dlc for like $5 which adds alot new stuff
Great Game!
- Pros: Super fun, super cheap.
- Cons: A little short, a little dated on the graphics.
- Other Thoughts: Love this game, can't believe it was so cheap!
Incredibly fun game.
- Pros: There's not much to say. The game is incredibly fun. You're an absurdly super-powered cop.
- Cons: The game can get a touch repetitive to some. I've played through the game three times, though, in its entirety.
- Other Thoughts: If you've never played Crackdown, you need to at least give it a rental. Unless you don't really like video games, it'll offer you more than its money's worth in fun.

Introduction
Pacific City has fallen under control of nefarious gangs. The police have been tossed aside – impotent in their attempts to reclaim the area and save the citizens. Now the entire populace looks to you for hope.
Use anything and everything in your environment to clean the streets. Don't see a way around a building or wall? Why not just go through it? …over it? …under it? The options are limitless. Running out of ammo? No problem. The world is your weapon rack! Use the trash can on the corner, the hydrant, the car by the curb, or that unsuspecting citizen walking by.
It's time to put crime and criminals in their place. Do you have what it takes to do whatever is necessary? Pacific City is counting on it.
