CoD 2 ROCKS!
- Pros: This game is very accurate and has helped me through many WW2 tests in school. The weapons and vehicles are very true to life. Best shooter I have owned and is WAY better than any Medal of Honor game.
- Cons: Cannot drive vehicles but that is accurate since not many soilders drove vehicles. Only European theater.
- Other Thoughts: If your a WW2 geek or a first person shooter fan this is the game to own!
COD2 - A Great Classic!
- Pros: Even in 2009, this is still a great game! The graphics, animation and sound are great, almost as good as the other games in the COD series, which was a pleasant surprise since this was an Xbox 360 launch game. The storyline is very in-depth and based on actual events of World War 2, and the cut scenes between missions are informative. The weapons and vehicles are true to the time period, and there are some very large scale, action packed battles. Surprisingly, there are still quite a few people playing this online. You get your typical choices when playing an online shooter: ranked or unranked, deathmatch, team deathmatch, and some objective games. I haven't experienced any lag online. I'm an average skilled gamer, and the balance between campaign difficulty while still being a lot of fun is perfect.
- Cons: There's a couple cons, all minor. There's a very low tolerance for friendly fire. If you accidentally hit a friendly with even one stray bullet, you revert to your last checkpoint. While that does add some realism, sometimes the AI will run through your line of fire, but you're the one penalized. Some of the in-game dialogue is a bit repetitive. There's only maybe a dozen phrases you hear during battles and they're repeated over and over. I don't see any cons in online play, however people who like to review pages and pages of statistics won't find that here. In that regard, this game is kept more simple than a lot of newer shooting games.
- Other Thoughts: I had never played this game prior to buying it here from Newegg, but I'm a fan of the other Call of Duty games. I figured since it was cheap and all the achievements were for the single player campaign, I'd give it a try. I love this game and it has exceeded my expectations. Any gamer who's a fan of WWII history will enjoy this game. And while there's not a huge selection of high-tech guns, this should be a fun game for anyone who just likes shooting games. Don't think that just because it's an older game that it's not awesome, because it is! It's a lot of fun, and that's what it's all about!
