4 out of 5 eggs120 Hours and Still Fun

Pros: There is an unbelievable amount of stuff to do in this game. yes you could spend 200 hours but you probably can cruise through the main quest in 30. But then you'd lose all the extra neat stuff.

One/two main quests, five faction quests (with a several quests for each faction), and then I have no idea how many (at least a hundred) side quests and tasks.

The weapon variety is very pleasing and feels great. Natural combat customized with each weapon and as you level up, the weapons are used differently.

You can build your own weapons, armor, potions, crystals, etc.

There are 10ish skills with 10 levels in each. There are tons of extra achievements to get.

Oh and the storyline is pretty freaking awesome. And the world blows my mind it's so big.

Cons: About 30% of the quests are the same concept. "Go here, find this" "Gather these", "Kill this bad guy". Reminds me of the first Assassins Creed. Lots you can do but it starts to look the same once you get the pattern.

The graphics are good but they have to cut down draw distance for some of the items so your system doesn't bog down. Occasionally the game lags when doing something epic.

Other Thoughts: Use the awesome wiki's out there. Yes, it may be cheating but it makes my 120 hours feel more productive than stumbling through.

5 out of 5 eggsKoA: Reckoning

Pros: The game looks good graphics wise and the world itself is very colorful. It's a nice world to just sit and admire. The controls are easy to learn and are not overly complicated by any means. The crafting system for gear, potions and gems is also very easy to pick up and understand. I haven't gotten very far in the game yet, only about 12 hours of game play, but I've really been enjoying it. My wife likes it too. :)

Cons: The camera can be a bit annoying at times. It tends to stay in one place during combat and won't really follow your character. It's not too big of a problem, just a bit gets annoying sometimes. Not a con so much, but the music and sound have to be turned down to roughly 50%, they over-shadow the voices of the characters. Also not really a con, just a bit of a let down. The characters hair looks out of place. It's more like a hard-hat than hair. With as nice as the rest of the game is, I think they could have done a bit better with the characters hair

Other Thoughts: So far, the game's been a lot of fun. Simple controls, very pretty world, good story and the side quests are a lot of fun. Worth picking it up for sure.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome game, seriously.

Pros: This game is amazing, it came out around the same time as skryim but i enjoyed this game much much more. I also have both the dlc and enjoyed them both immensely. Its sad that the company shut down, i was hoping for another game coming out of this studio. Really incredible games with cool armors and weapons and also you can combine classes so you can be shooting lightning while being a stealth class similar to skyrim.

Cons: Company went bankrupt

Other Thoughts: For 20 bucks this game is totally worth it. Its amazing, one of the hidden gems in gaming world.

4 out of 5 eggsSo Close, But No Cigar

Pros: First things first, this is a great game, the combat system is probably the best I've used in an Action RPG, the look of the game is really great if your a fan of WOW's visual style, and there is loot and quests galore.

Cons: The first maddeningly apparent issue with this game is that it's dialogue system is shallower than a puddle in Arizona. It's boring and it's constantly pushing you away from the characters and the narrative, when you talk to somebody in the game it seems like they're brain simply consists of a pamphlet relating to the world around them and not there own, thoughts, ideas, and experiences.
The second problem hast to be the fact that loot is completely random, at first this seems like a good idea that adds a ton of replayablility to the world, but as you progress through the game you'll pick up three pieces of this armor set and two pieces of that armor set, until you eventually realize that you won't be able to find the remaining pieces these armors and if you'll have already far surpassed them level wise.
Lastly the games storage is universal, all the chests that allow you to store all the game glorious loot are connected so you don't have to worry about traveling back and forth trying to find something you put away. Once again at first glance this seems like a great idea and for the most part is, however these universally connected chests have a storage limit and once you've hit it that's it, there's no place else to put all your riches.

Other Thoughts: This game was so close to being great, but a few small things that eventually turn in to rather big problems, eat away at your fun and immersion later in the game. If I could have given the game 3 1/2 eggs I probably would have, but 4 is still fair for this game. It's a lot of fun to play, but issues down the line could really hurt your experience.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Action RPG

Pros: Easy controls, flat learning curve, great combat, and interesting enough story to keep you coming back for more. Graphics though cartoonish, work perfectly for this game.

Cons: Camera can be annoying at times.

Other Thoughts: It's an absolute shame 38 Studios went under. KoA is a great game worthy of a successor. It didn't do anything that hadn't been done before, but it got everything right. By far the most overlooked and under rated game of 2012.

5 out of 5 eggsA+ RPG

Pros: Having played Skyrim, Dragon Age 1 + 2, Mass Effect, Fallout 3, etc. this game really knocks it out of the park. All the systems are very intuitive - fighting, potions, magic. I just cannot put this game down.

Cons: None so far - i have about 12 hours into the game and i love it!

Other Thoughts: Get this game!!! the reviews are all right.

5 out of 5 eggsAbsolute Masterpiece! Possible GOTY

Pros: Oh man, this game flat out rocks!

Graphics: 9.5/10 - Will remind you of WoW Graphics mixed with realistic human features.

Story line: 9/10 - Will remind you of WoW lore crossed with Oblivions immersive depth.

Gameply / Combat: 10/10 - Hybrid of G-d of War, Batman Arkham City, Fable III, Castlevania: Lords of Shadows and a bit of WoW (rogue and warrior). KoA:R is easily the best action (third person) combat system ever. The character actually moves like a real human would if he or she were swinging a 80 pound hammer or sword - friking awesome! No robot like, stiff and fakey animations here!

Sound: 10/10 - Gushing daggers, sweeping smashing great swords explosive magic. The sounds make you almost feel what you're seeing on the screen.

Music: 9/10 - Will remind you of LoTR and the movie Gladiator with a mystical classical twist of oboes and lutes. Fades in and out. Very enjoyable mood music.

Length of Game: 10/10 - Easily an epic 150-200 hour game.

9.5/10 Overall

Cons: You will have to play the game on the hardest setting. The easy and normal setting is too easy. This game is too easy in the beginning (1-10 levels) even on hard. But it seems to be made like that for tutorial purposes (because it's so huge you will need it to figure everything out). Once you bet to level 15 or more you will start gettin crushed if you don't use all tactics available like shild blocking shield bashing, dive rolling, blinking stun locking etc... See even the cons are actually Pros, that's how awesome this game is!

Not really a con, just a bit of extra info.

Other Thoughts: Mass Effect 3 and RE ORC have their work cut out for them in terms of being the top dog of 2012. Kingdoms of Amalur might end up being Game of the Year - Yes it's that good. It's one of my favorites already and I've only had it since wednesday and have logged a little over 20 hours and have only completed a little less than 10% of the game!

Don't try and compare it to Skyrim, they are two totally different types of games altogether.

KoA:R is more of a hybrid type of game that seems to be a completely new genre. It's a ME2 RPG mixed with 3rd person magic and melee combat mixed with 80% sandbox free roam like Arkham City.

KoA:R ranks up there with Red Dead Redemption, Mass Effect 2 and Deus Ex Human Revolution as my personal all time favorite games on the xbox360. It's one of those games that you can't put down and end up going on marathon 8-16 hour epic all night gaming adventures. This game is friking HUGE! 2-3 hour a day gamers will take half a year or more to complete.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Game!

Pros: If you like open world RPG's with a mix of everything get this. This game is a mix of Fable and TES. It is very fun, you can decide to play as a caster, a sneaky rogue, or a warrior.

Cons: Not as customizable as Skyrim.
