4 out of 5 eggsneed for speed: paradise city

Pros: i have really enjoyed this game. however, i knew what i was getting into before i played it. it is made by criterion, who also made burnout: paradise (which i absolutely love). there are a lot of similarities between the two, so it is almost like playing burnout: paradise with licensed cars.

Cons: many need for speed fans have complained about how major of a departure this game is from the rest of the nfs games. like i said previously, i figured it would be, and this doesnt bother me. there are a couple of things that i dont really like about this game, but they arent too major.

first, the online play can be pretty bothersome. most of the time is spent driving to events and waiting for the events to start. this wouldnt be such a problem, if each time it didnt turn into a demolition derby. there is incentive for crashing other players so once a few people get to the destination it turns into a "crash as many people as possible as fast as possible" situation.

second, there is no way to play custom event lists in public games. you are given the option to create your own playlist of events, but once you join a public game, those are no longer available. what this means is that you can only play your costume lists with your friends in private games. going along with this, there is little info given for each event, so even while you can create your own playlists, you dont really know what you will be doing until you actually play the events.

Other Thoughts: i would have liked to see some stunt events at least in online play, if not in the single player game play.

5 out of 5 eggsGood single player, fantastic multiplayer

Pros: The single player is very engaging, with lots of opportunities to upgrade and make each car your own. The multiplayer is absolutely addicting, giving free drive between races and challenges, leaving you to do whatever you want in the spare time

Cons: Limited to certain cars (SUVs, sports, exotics) between races which can get boring. Also, if you're not as social with video games, you may not enjoy it as much

1 out of 5 eggsnfs franchise gets worse each time

Pros: they brought back the cop aspect that made the original nfs most wanted an incredibly good game.

Cons: they try to make it a realistic racing simulation (like forza) but not only fail at that, but they keep the game more arcade oriented.
a realistic racing sim arcade game?
that makes no sense, and im not sure wth they were on when they made this game.

Going 40mph and crashing makes you total your car...

you have NO i mean NO control over your cars tuning WHAT so ever. You are stuck with EXTREMELY tight steering... you cant change it...

the normal nfs bot opponents, that you can smash them and it literally does nothing, and when they barely tap you, you go flipping out of control...

I would just say avoid the NFS franchise... go with forza...
Since nfs seem to want to mix a racing sim and arcade racing game... and it ofcourse doesnt work...
when nfs was an arcade racing game, like when you could just drive like 200mph and take turns like nothing was more fun...
if i wanted a racing sim id get forza, as they get it right....
