Take part in the liberation of France during WW2 at the forefront of the Allied breakout from Normandy. Play through the realistically rendered battlefields as an American, British, Canadian or Polish soldier in four single-player story modes. Utilize the authentically modeled weapons of your nation in addition to the tanks and vehicles of that military. Semi-destructible scenery and battlefield sounds will have you ducking for cover behind rubble and vehicles as the enemy gets your range.
The control system used in Call of Duty 2 returns and you can lay down covering fire or bring your rifle up to use the sights to make a precision shot. The realism extends to the smoke grenades which can be used to cover your advance as well as the ability to pick up enemy grenades and throw them back. "Cook" your own fragmentation grenade to keep the enemy from returning them.
Five team-based modes allow online multi-player action that is the true heart of Call of Duty 3. Up to 24 players can fight on each side. Choose a class of soldier to play – each type has certain benefits – and then choose your team and battle it out as an American or German soldier. Engage in close-quarters combat where you'll need to wrestle your foe or you can simply smash him with the butt of your weapon. Take full control of tanks and jeeps to crush your enemies under your treads or mow them down with the vehicle-mounted weapons. The Platinum Hits package comes with an extra disk which contains developer diaries, videos covering the creation and development of the game, the official trailers and the extra map packages. This is truly a must for the dedicated Call of Duty fan.

Great Game
- Pros: One of the most liked shooters out there. Three years old and still tons of people play online. It will be around forever.
Most of the maps are big enough so you can use strategy rather than just running around and shooting the first person you run into. Vehicles in this game rock.
The online gaming system is the best out there. No waiting in lobbies for players. You can join a game in progress or start your own. Very flexible.
- Cons: Lots of glitches that Treyarch has never bothered to fix. Sometimes they can ruin online play. Microsoft never does much to police the ones that ruin online play.
- Other Thoughts: Best game of all time.
Yes... I liked it.
- Pros: Over all a good, smooth first person shooter. It doesn't have quite the same feel as Call of Duty 2 and 4, but it's fun none the less. And the story line is as good as the others if not better. In some ways, it's more challenging. Enemies seem to move around more quickly and are harder to hit. The rowing in the boat and the little extras you do with setting booms was kinda neat. Makes me want to try it on the Wii.
- Cons: As much as I liked, I don't think I'll be playing it all that often. There's just something about using grandpa’s guns that don't appeal to me all that much. Also, I miss having the objectives on the pause screen like you do in 2 and 4. Call of Duty 3 had more cinematics for the story line, but miss I the short history lessons you got from the real footage in Call of Duty 2.
- Other Thoughts: WWII shooters are fun, but not as fun as the modern/future/Sci-Fi shooter.

Did anybody like this game?
- Pros: It was a game?
- Cons: horrible game play both online and offline. It is the forgotten ugly, one-eyed, inbred step-child of the Call of Duty series.
- Other Thoughts: seriously who enjoyed playing this?
