It's been ten years since the release of Fallout 2 and 227 years after the nuclear devastation that all but destroyed humanity and now Bethesda Games returns you to the post-apocalyptic remains of what used to be Washington DC, packed with detail and excitement as you explore 2277. You get multiple challenges with consequences or rewards based on your actions. Build your character through pivotal events of your childhood in Vault 101. Assign skill points to reflect your style of play and put yourself to the test as you venture out into the sunlight in the shattered remnants of Washington DC in search of your father – the first man to leave the Vault.

You'll have to balance finding food to regain health against your radiation level – putting the struggle for survival in very real terms. Character interaction can lead you to shortcuts or dead-ends. Side quests give let you try to gain aid and allies than you can pick-up on a single play-through. Play in either first- or third-person perspective as combat goes beyond simple run-and-gun with the Vault-Tech Assisted Targeting System (VATS) which lets you pause the action and spend points to target a specific part of your foe with dramatic results if you hit.

Make sure that you take care of your weapons, however as they'll wear out without maintenance. Your character can combine weapons into newer, more powerful ones – if you took that skill. You'll find touches of the same dark humor that set Fallout apart in the first place along with retro 1950's styles set against the ruins. Prepare for the future!

5 out of 5 eggsFallout is still a great game after all these years.

Pros: *Everything that has been said before.
*nice controls.
*Probably +100 hours of gameplay if you explore and do side quests.
*better leveling system than Oblivion
*Funny radio station that talks about your recent exploits and plays classy oldies. It's oddly fascinating to see a monster rush you while a 50's love song is playing.

Cons: 100% completion begins to feel like a job/chore after a while.
There is a lot of sameness to the landscape and dungeons.
If you ever turn off the one good radio station, the music and mood-reactive music sounds like poor Oblivion leftovers.

Other Thoughts: A very good game, I sunk many many hours into it. Ultimately I got bored by the wasteland and lack of "life" but I never played the apparently very good and end-game changing DLC which added to the variety and longevity.
Buy the Game of the Year edition at the same price to get the DLC included.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome game!

Pros: First off awesome game! I had to keep walking away from it because it kept scaring me. Although this may be due to the fact i am pretty jumpy.

For this price the amount of playablity is just phenominal. Do not just follow the main quest, make sure to run around and go exploring. There are so many fun things to do.

There are also expansions packs through xbox live!

Cons: The case melts when put inside the microwave. Although this may be a manufacturing defect.

Other Thoughts: Buy this game, its 20 bucks what do you have to lose?

5 out of 5 eggsGreat RPG!

Pros: Awesome story, great graphics, awesome gameplay, almost works as well as a shooter as an RPG, great character customizer, DLC is great, awesome fight sequences, cool weapons (very fun to make people explode with high velocity trash from the Rock-It-Launcher), mini nukes are super fun, perks are awesome, and V.A.T.S. adds an entirely new aspect to shooters.

Cons: N/A

Other Thoughts: The third person option makes your player really awkward, Bethesda didn't really focus on that

5 out of 5 eggsBest Game I've played

Pros: I really can't say enough about this game. I was skeptical, an expensive game, no multiplayer... but WOW. This is probably one of the best games I have ever played. Beautiful graphics, balanced combat, great story, awesome RPG integration. I love this game.

Cons: I really wish they would have made your level cap higher. You could reach the highest level way before the end of the game because there's so much to do!

Other Thoughts: If you have the money, buy this game. I promise it will be worth it.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Amazing game, very good main story and lots of quests. VATS works perfectly. There are two DLC available now and one in production, Operation and The Pitt, and Broken Steel.

Cons: Rarely there are some crashes or slowing down randomly. There are some places where you can fall through the map but most of them have been fixed in patches.

Other Thoughts: This games has become one of my favorite games.

3 out of 5 eggsIt's okay

Pros: It's got an interesting storyline, cool looking combat with the assistive targeting system, the storyline was pretty good and many of the side quests were well put together.

Cons: *Ending wasn't satisfying. Plus, it doesn't let you keep playing your character to go and do side quests if you complete it! A patch may have fixed this if you have access to XBL.
*Similar to Oblivion, there aren't very many special weapons. In fact, there aren't very many weapons at all. It seems like theres about 3-4 of each type of weapon. I used the hunting rifle since I discovered it up until you get laser weapons... a huge portion of the game.
*Not very many shops, I pack-rat all the loot I find but there was nothing to spend it on other than ammo and stim-packs - which were limited in quantity.
*Repairing weapons is redundant, and cheesy. Just like oblivion taking slight damage will reduce the damage of your weapon. Very difficult to get an understanding of a weapons power because of this.

Other Thoughts: It was longer than many of the RPG's that are out today - but only if you do a bunch of side quests. If you prefer to go straight with the storyline, it's fairly short (6-9 hours).
If you like RPG's for the storyline and graphics, this game is great. If you like RPG's for the customization and replayability, look elsewhere.
