2 out of 5 eggsL.A. Noire is a boring game from a company with an amazing track record

Pros: Positive:
1.) The facial recognition technology is amazing. The game relies on you to pick up on facial clues to figure out if you suspect is telling the truth.
2.) The game looks beautiful
3.) The map within the game is big and allows you to freeing go where you want to.

Cons: First of all L.A. Noire is not a bad game but when their are so many other amazing games out there why buy just an ok game. I will list the positve and negatives of the game in my humble opinion to help you make your own decision.

1.) The game is tedious and searching for clues on your suspects faces can be pretty boring.
2.) The game does not have enough to do beyond the main missions.
3.) The game makes you basically run around in circles.

The above is my 2 cents. Rockstar has tons of other great titles that would be better to spend your hard earned money on, like Red Dead Redemption, GTA 4 or GTA 5.

Thank you for reading my review, if you have any questions feel free to email me, I would be happy to help you with any questions you have.

3 out of 5 eggsNice try

Pros: I love rockstar games.... but L.A. Noire is not their best effort. I applaud the intention. I think a real detective game is a great idea (Though CSI may have killed this through idiocy). The game is mostly good, with interesting cases - but not good enough.

Cons: There is very little to do other than the cases. Rockstar's best game IMO (Red Dead Redemption) has so much to do outside the storyline - But L.A. Noire seems to be more about the cut scenes. In some cases, there is no reason to choose one suspect over another (and often you are unable to have evidence like blood typing done). The feel of driving is very bad.

Other Thoughts: It is a great idea - but not executed as well as rockstar normally do. Hopefully if there is another game like this, there will be more to do outside the story.

2 out of 5 eggsNot Red Dead LA Crime...

Pros: Graphics are impressive at the very least -- everything feels very authentic. Great storyline, solid, no-glitch title. Facial detection -- to determine whether a suspect is telling the truth or lying -- very creative use of new technology.

Cons: Boring, slow, the facial detection would be even better if it was actually usable by the end user.

Did I mention boring and slow?

Other Thoughts: It's a shame -- this game is aiming directly for LA Confidential (the film) and it almost hits it, except the entire basis of the game itself -- or most of it -- focuses on your determining whether suspects are lying or telling the truth. By the middle of the first disc, it's pretty clear it's all about guessing. This isn't a true Rockstar title, and it shows. Entertaining to run through once, but definitely not a replayable title -- and even if it was, it's not worth the time one needs to expend to finish it. Short version: pass on it.

4 out of 5 eggsL.A Bore

Pros: Best graphics so far of any game, the little facial expressions!
But sadly, that and the fact/clue finding abilities are about it...

Cons: Game gets repetitive after disc two, yeah it's a three disc game :)
I really wish it had more to it, like if it was more like grand theft, where you can customize your guy more...

Other Thoughts: Not worth BUYING go rent it, beat it, off, and move on..

5 out of 5 eggsGift for friends and myself.

Pros: Definitely a worthwhile game for those who want a new interesting take of crime games.

Cons: Pretty linear for the story, but is definitely worth a look for those wanting something different.

Other Thoughts: This is definitely a game that's worthwhile. Even though this is a 3 disc game, as long as you load at least the first disc onto the system, it'll load faster for the other 2 as well. Still, a true challenge and worth it for those wanting a different experience from the usual "run and gun" type style of games.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: I love this game, it's polished. I never bother to write reviews but this one is worth spreading the good word! As I've gotten older my gaming interest is leaning towards something that is more casual that engages you with a great story. That experience is delivered in spades here and I think is something that many people who aren't gamers might enjoy. The facial animation is superb and the actor's talent is really captured. Having a "Duke Nukem" voice isn't enough anymore as this technology uses 32 cameras to capture many visual details and nuances. I found the controls to be very natural and I didn't feel inundated. With games I sometimes lose interest and unfortunately rarely finish them. There is no way that's happening with L.A. Noire. It's linear and there's a sense of accomplishment in completing the cases and finishing the content. I would buy DLC to support Team Bondi if it was of the same calibre as the main game. The graphical attention to detail is appreciated.

Cons: You can get stuck past the chair in the coroner's office. Don't go snooping around the desk. Had to restart the mission and lost some time.
Changing radio stations in cars doesn't seem to be an option.
I would have liked to see the interiors of these classic cars. In car perspective driving.

Other Thoughts: My father is 68 and only plays Tiger Woods 2012. I asked him to try something different and after watching me play and figuring out buttons he was playing through a mission with ease and it held his interest. He liked that this is a thinking game. It's like watching a movie unfold where you control the actions of the actors.

5 out of 5 eggsL.A. Noire

* I put 19 hours into it within 3 days to beat it
- the graphics look amazing for the free-roamish style
- very interesting style of game play, starting missions (cases) is linear and a new one starts immedietly after finnishing the last. But during the missions (cases) you freeroam, you have objectives but most can be done in any order and you can take whatever route you chose to.
- The facial animation is amazingly detailed, as it's a good tool in chosing wether someone is tellign the truth or whatnot.
- there are 95 different cars available in the game including hidden cars which are usually pretty unique
- the mix of genres is interesting, an investigative style but with weapons and cars.
* there is much less investigating when compared to CSI type games, you mostly just find the evidence and it's interpreted, though analysis is limited in the 1940s anyway.
- amazing storyline, you'll want to finish it once you start
-seems like a movie to be honest

Cons: -Addictive!
-the driving seems slightly unrealistic however it suites my tastes just fine.
-I haven't found a way to change radio stations and some of what is played is annoying to me
-combat isn't as evolved as GTA IV's was, but it's not a strict shooter game so it's fine for L.A. Noire (Although the hand-to-hand fighting is much better than GTA's)
-Limited array of weaponary (about 6 or 7 guns)
-the people in the game have angered me off they're so well made
- 3 discs, but not a problem really.
- you can't walk around the city with your gun out (but you're a cop)

Other Thoughts: -Rediclious game
-DLC is supposed to be released periodically so to keep the game interesting
-Multiplayer would have been nice

I expected this to be similar to a GTA IV but in the 1940s, but i was suprised at how well it turned out.
Very happy to spend the $60 and defionatly worth the money.

Rockstar should make the mission DLC free, because not everyone is going to but 10 DLC mission packs for $10 per pack.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome game

Pros: This game is just awesome. It's so much fun doing investigations and interrogating criminals. The graphics are great and the story is something else. The cast in this game is great too.

Cons: Nothing I can think of. I guess having to change discs around, but that isn't a problem for me.

Other Thoughts: it's a great fun crime thriller, check it out.
