Taking place just after the events in the movie Aliens 3, Sega's Aliens: Colonial Marines puts you in the combat boots of a United States Colonial Marine in this co-operative squad-based tactical shooter. Explore the abandoned USMS Sulaco and the planet LV-426 with its wrecked alien spacecraft as seen in the first two movies. Go beyond the movies as your mission takes you to futuristic cities on other planets.

With a plot written by Battlestar Galactica and Star Trek: DS9 writers David Weddle and Bradley Thompson, and using the Unreal Engine, players find themselves immersed in claustrophobic environs as part of a four-man Marine squad with sudden death lurking nearby. Play solo in command of your squad – with the ability to shift from Marine to Marine - or take on the aliens with three other friends with drop-in/drop-out cooperative play.

Each Marine has unique weapons, skills and duties as well as specific mission objectives. The familiar M4A1 pulse rifle and M240 flamethrower will be close at hand as will other favorites and some new equipment as well. The aliens have different classes as well and will respond differently to situations and threats – they won't just throw themselves into the path of your M56 Smart gun. The hunters will be the hunted.

1 out of 5 eggsThis game is AWFUL

Pros: Zero. None. Zilch.

Cons: The glitches. No software updates from GearBox to fix them. Antiquated graphics system. Obsolete multiplayer system with bugs all over the place. I could go on for about two more hours.

Other Thoughts: Do Not Buy This game.
Do Not Buy This game.
I work at GameStop and I have been warning my customers about this obsolete pile of garbage. I have been turning people away from this game since we had our midnight launch. I can't believe that we even had to do that. I just feel so misled by GearBox.

1 out of 5 eggsA Waste of Time & Money

Pros: On paper, this game seems great. The trailer(s) are very compelling -- reminiscent of the Aliens movie franchise. The game features the Alien creatures, and we all know that they're among the coolest sci-fi creatures ever dreamed up and put on film.

Onto the negatives...

Cons: Everything else. Where to begin? Lousy graphics, cheesy story, silly mechanics/physics, non-existent suspense...

Awful, awful game. They put the decimal point in the wrong place when they priced this game.

Other Thoughts: Garbage. When a film is continually delayed and its release date continues to be pushed back, there's a reason. Same with games. They should have continued pushing the release of this title back until the end of time. And then continued waiting.

Complete garbage. Don't waste your time or money.
